I play Tekken so I’ll be perfectly fine with going into normal controls just gotta hit the lab

From my recollection, I was an average player back in the Budokai Tenkaichi series. I'm walking into this game solely for its gameplay and variety of characters. I couldn't care less about online unless it involves playing with friends.

0:53 off the bat, that looks horrible.. arms and clothes look weird and blocky. Hair as well.. hope they fix this

Yea I used to play BT3 wayyyyy too much ! Got Goated at it used to smoke all my friends & their friends. I can’t wait to get back to learning the game to a science & practicing every characters move sets so I can learn how to counter each character. I actually got BT3 on my PC so I’m def about to get back in the Lab before Sparking comes out in October 🤞🏽

You are 100% right, I watched about every single gameplay I could find on youtube, and everytime I was desperate to find some gameplay with someone who actually knows how to play, who really understands the Tenkaichi mechanics, but unfortunately I couldn’t find any single one I realized people really just mash light attacks then occasionally randomly press some triangle/Y button, then spam random ass special attacks And it was kinda frustrating actually, cause I personally really like the depth of Tenkaichi’s mechanics, but if I look at it from the devs perspective, I’d be like why bother creating a deep system since people all play the same brainless way? Hopefully they’ll still keep and improve on the old mechanics, for the few people who actually know how to play

What does that even mean “you were good cause of small selection?” You can literally say that about anyone from the budokai tenkaichi days this was pre online or just the start of online as that was the ps3 /xbox 360 era when online gameing started to become a thing namely with cod modern warfare dropping around the time of tenkaichi 3 most people had moved on from the ps2 by this time or were starting to by that point. All you had was a small selection on unless you had a local place to get together and play or really divide deep into the mechanics on your own. As I kid I’d say I was okay at the game very average even though I did do a deep dive into the games combos on my own and learned some new tricks I still couldn’t even compete with my brother. Who I’ll give this he is actually good i don’t say that cause he beat me I say that cause he didn’t even need a lot of the extra combos I learned he knew the basic fighting mechanics and mastered them just from playing me and he won maybe 70% of the time we played unless I really buckled down and even then it still struggled . But even in other fighting games and im talking actual fighting games like Tekken or fighterz which we’ve played this dude is the type who can pick up and play and he’s just good for Ko fucking reason to the point where he gets online and is nice . Me I’ve gotta work at it and train to get good and he’s just nice.

Raging blast series needs to continue too i feel its a better game gameplay wise

i got mixed feelings. On one hand it's great to have local coop, but having it as a half assed addition like in Xenoverse 2 is a bitter pill. PS5 and Series X can handle split screen in games that are far more demanding than fighting games. For instance, Borderlands 3 with its massive maps, all the details and tons of enemies.

Powerful doesn’t mean meta in these type of games. Nova Sheron probably the 3rd or 4th strongest character in GT had mid moves all besides one.

I’m sure I have more practice hours on bt3 than most people have at BT3 and bt2 play time.

Remember back when we played the Games for the first time. Was 11 when I BT1 came out. There will be a big Skill-Gap in the Beginning between Series Veterans & Newcomers. And Yeah, I thought I was relatively good at FighterZ, until I played PVP 😂😂😂

I couldnt find any videos displaying blast combos... if someone does, please link me! I dont know whether the testers dont know how to do them or if its not integrated into the mechanics yet. (Blast combos like when a combo finishes with knock back AND blast/kamehameha)

Nice video. Just keep in mind they aint balancing this game except if it becomes a real problem they made this game with casual in mind (what i mean is if you pick hercule you ll def have way more difficulties to beat another player for exemple)

I never really stopped playing t3 or both raging blasts, never got rid of my consoles. Just always casually kept playing here n there...lowkey to cope w having xenoverse for so long...or UT before that. I think theres a lot of us still in good shape, but some aren't and that's fine. It'll always show in the end anyways. Some gonna bandwagon can't blame em lol. See yall on the battlefield, finally got some motivation to really start this thing up again

I was on tenkaichi 3 earlier just refreshing after some months off doing 5v5s with the frieza force vs ginyu force m the type to use everyone and i play tenkaichi on a competitive and casual level with friends this game has tons of mechanics that i only seen a few use in the new sparking zero gameplays shown and i defenitely would do a better job showcasing that gameplay to you guys if i was there myself fr lol especially since everything is the same i feel probably a few characters combo strings switched a bit but overall it should feel natural if you really know what your doing and these mechanics when mastered its addicting what you can pull off in this game true dragon ball shit when you got two sparking goats battling eachother at an intense level

Stil have the game and play sometimes on my ps2 Back in the day i used to pvp alot with my friends in the neighborhood and we held weekly tournaments for yu gi oh cards 😂 also the game has new mechanics and some people need to refresh their memories the game is also alot faster than bt3 and raging blast 2

You clearly had your mind made up when you made this video 😂. It may not matter to you and you can be ok with a game with less of a shelf life due to being tied down to online servers. But I'm not gonna spend 70+ dollars on a game with no good local multiplayer option. If I wanted a strictly multiplayer dragonball game Id just play xenoverse. Literally no point to it aside from its new graphics. Which I would be more than willing to sacrifice if it means I can 5 v 5 my brother or my best friend in tournament mode in my living room. Idk why people are so eager to drop there money on less content. It's wild to me.

I am wondering if sparking zero will have that one mechanic to where both characters clash at high speeds at differnet parts of the map with the boom effects?? It was very DBZish and I havent seen that yet!

Yeah no, watching the footage that people drop (especially that online demonstration) was hard as no one knew what they were doing Instead of being shocked or excited at the spectacle shown I ended up sitting there cringing from how rough the gameplay was I ended up skipping past all the fights and just looking at people breaking down what happened instead I'm not expecting competitive bt3 levels from people, I just would've liked to see some Sonic Sways, flying kicks, heavy finishers, step-ins. Anything that isn't just mashing square

First and foremost good video on this most definitely had to sub 🤞🏾💫. But I would agree with you there are very subtle details that go into this series especially bt3 that I never even learned growing up especially playing against just friends and family members. Speaking from a casual standpoint I think there will be a huge learning curve in becoming good and great at the game for sure and i think like u said most people are missing that in there synopsis of how they think they will play. Overall I think it should be interesting to see how the first two months on this game go and I can’t wait to see the development of players who are good and even those who are casual looking to take it a step even higher

I definitely agree that we haven't seen the full potential of this game just yet. Totally understand why the journalist did what they did just to showcase as much of the game as possible but really wish we could see all the core mechanics from one character to see what SZ has in store. You're kind of able to put together bits and pieces from all the videos that were out but even then it's very sparce. (Like no one even tried sonic swaying, ONCE?!?!) I am curious as what the meta for this game is going to be. Since the characters are all broken up into one of the 3 categories, I feel that there is always a chance for one character to have a chance against another character due to your skill. Though I'm sure that regardless there will be a lot of the popular teams online (Gokus, blues, fusions, etc.)

Good video. I think it'll take around like 2-3 months for competitive play to get insane tbh it won't take as long like 1-2 years like BT3 purely due to how diff the gaming climate is. (Edit: I'm pretty hyped for balance patches as it'll make the meta actually diff instead of being set in stone like BT3)

I disagree with you my brother, i still remember everything 100%. Dropping a series soon, video one already up.

Now I understand that 30 minutes is definitely enough for muscle memory to kick in if they were good, however you have to also understand that most of the time they are trying to show off their supers and ults, most of the time so I can see why most of the big CZcamsrs that got to play just weren't as good as we thought they were or even as optimal.

I’ve been thinking this as well. I’ve yet to see anybody fight with the skill level of what me and my friends had. It used to be just straight up skill. No random stopping and thinking or weird stopping points where the players look confused on what to do next. We knew all the combos and pretty much everything. I bet a lot of people didn’t know about “God Characters” in BT3 where you can max out a character. We broke down every piece of that game and the fights used to be like the anime. I don’t know what these players be doing lol im pretty sure I can pick this up and if the controls are the same like they say they are then our first battle is gonna be insane

You know its funny when afro and globku say that the camera is scuffed when being above or below someone, well other than the ground clipping which i agree is bad, the reason they actually say its bad is because they arent turning the camera pov with right stick. I just watched several vidoes and I already known the people don't know how to play. NONE of them teleported away from getting hit by Super or Ultimate attack, which is basic in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. They hyped those two guys fighting each other on live, but they also su*ked and that was my dissapointment. I though they were decently good at Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and they had some time to train in Sparking Zero, but naaah, they known just basic stuff and oooeeeehhh nothing interesting.

I played budokai tenkaichi so much that I was so pissed off that they were playing ass😂 especially on my goat gogeta, but even I understand that bt3 is very old but it has a lot more depth than a lot of 3d anime games, WAY BETTER THAN XENOVERSE because that games movement and combo is bland

If you want to see *actually* good players, I recommend: Rowat 19, Hiury Games, Dzerom (some are BT4 mod players but they also have BT3 gameplay vids as well) and they combo.

My BT3 muscle memory will never leave its probably still my most played game of all time I used to practice with EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER and have tournaments against my friends that were like 7 years older than me at the time I might as well start my CZcams channel up 😂😂
