🏉 new 2024 NRL / NRLW $2 Coloured Coins & Team $1 Coins From Anaconda: Australian Rugby League #coin

The biggest thing I've noticed is that the tubes are starting to sell out at a lot of Anaconda stores here in Brisbane. However, there are LOTS of the $2 coins left, so they should be available for a few more weeks at face value. If you're after the tubes, make sure to grab them sooner rather than later. They are available online from Anaconda (and in some stores) still.
The single team coins are available to buy at $12.50, which is a lot more expensive than the single coins from Australia Post promotions. However, the presentation is much better than Aust Post, with the coin sealed.
While you can buy the $1 NRL coins online if you don't have an Anaconda store nearby, the $2 coins are more tricky.
TIPs for getting hold of the $2 coins if you don't have an Anaconda nearby...
So lets talk about getting these two dollar coins.
There is good news and bad news regarding this set being released through Anaconda.
Anaconda was a surprising choice for releasing these coins - there are only about 85 stores around Australia, which is not many compared to Woolworths or Australia Post.
That brings me to the good news... with so few stores, these two dollar coins - even if they ONLY have a mintage of 100,000 each, are going to be in plentiful supply from any given store. Now, I have no idea of the mintage for the coins. It could be 100,000, a million or even 2 million each. We won't know for some time.
Because there are less stores, this promotion could go on for a while. At the start of these promotions, people are usually mad-keen to get as many coins as possible, but now that we're a few weeks into the promotion, the hype dies down and they should be easier to get hold of.
As always, be kind to staff at Anaconda and they're more likely to give you the $2 coins - they have to follow the rules and they can't give out bags of coins. But I've found that if you're friendly and pay with cash, they're more than happy to give you the Two-Dollar coins in change. I think there's a limit of about ten coins per transaction.
Just make sure you figure out how much change you need before you go in store and have enough notes, cause they can't exchange coins - you have to have enough money in change to get the coins.
Obviously the bad news is for people who don't have an anaconda store nearby.

There are a lot of Asians thinking their HH $2 coins are worth more than face value. Guys... they're not. They're worth face value in Australia and nothing in any other country.
I've got a blank $2 coin I found many years ago. Have you seen one, would it be worth anything.
@BunyipnAbout it depends on whether it is a genuine blank (un-minted coin), or a coin that has been ground down to look like a blank. It might be worth checking with a dealer.

They have issued too many sets. The NRL set is ok, but perhaps they could have waited a few more years. To me it feels like a knee-jerk reaction by the NRL after the release of the first AFL set. Releasing two AFL sets in successive years has made me lose interest, and seems like overkill. I will get the coloured $2 but pass on the rest. They did the same thing will the alphabet sets. Just milking collectors!
Yes, it would have seemed more logical to have this set as the follow up to the AFL set, instead of competing with it.

Great Video, I was unaware of the 2014 mule. Thank you..! And Yes I found a Mule after years of Noodling.! Still looking for that elusive 1966 wavy bar..! And the Double Header 5 cent too..! Incused 50cents.? yep found some of them, too. Very Early on..! Infact, at first I could see there was a Difference. But wasn't sure what was Different, for quite a While. Their a great Ebay sale if short of a $1. Never found a 'Letter A envalope' but I do have 2 un-opened Rolls..! Are the Rolls worth more Open or Unopened..!? Not sure, but maybe a Great suprise when I do open them..! All I can say is, Hit the Banks guys. Spend a few hours Noddling. Then put them back in the Bank..! It's Better Value than the Pokies..!! Is this kit primarily to be stored flat or upright? I find that the weight of 50c pieces in a folder stored upright causes the page inserts to stretch and tear away from the ring binder.
That's a great question! It's designed to work both lying down (ie stacked on top of each other) or standing up (like a book). As you say the weight of fifty cent coins can pull the sleeves so it's safer to stack. The good things with these folders is that they are rigid boxes, so they are easily stacked.

You would have to check with Australia Post or a courier company. It depends on the weight of the coins, insurance, etc. Also, check that you are allowed to send them, as there are limits on sending some coins overseas.
This system including the hardware & labels is something I’ve been looking for. I’ll definitely buy one once I put some money aside. Thanks for creating this.

This is a great system. Flips suit all coin sizes so unlike 2x2's you don't need to keep a whole lot of different sizes on hand. And no plastic damage! 👍
@peecee1384 yes exactly, you can add other cardboard 2x2's into the sleeves, but these 2x2 will fit any size Australian coins.
