He lost me at "real alcoholic". Is there any other type? By and large, what people that are using the term "real alcoholic" mean is that anyone that recovers fron alcoholism by any other means, aside from the one that they specifically prescribe, is not a "real alcoholic". It is very much against our spirit of unity. It also promotes a certain aspect of fundamentalism that is a sort of extremism, which is of course just another form of addiction.

I really like this speaker. I diverge in one important area, and she seemed to infer it, however: I'm personally saddened when step parents think the kids needs to leave. I am pretty firm when sponsoring, that the kid comes first. They don't get to triangulate, the don't get to run the asylum, but they get to be the priorty in how we work spiritually. We are the adults. We have meetings, sponsors and a spiritual program. The kids have zero of these supports. Steps have come into the romantic relationship. Kids need so much time, faith, goodwill and kindness, and to not be thrown away. We double down in service in this area. Love with limits. I'm grateful for the experience of good step parents.
