ALL American cars of the 1970s were absolutely hideous. Mostly because of their obscene size. Europe on the other hand was producing many very attractive and very compact cars.

Agree with all but the 914. It's astonishing that the same country that brought us the E Type is also known for inflicting some of the ugliest abominations to ever turn a wheel on buyers. The Vanden Plas is especially egregious, and reminds me of something my dad used to say, "You can polish a turd, but all you end up with is a shiny turd, and shit all over your hands."

RE: 6:55 : Checking the spec numbers of the 454/425 engine in the Corvette ZR2, you have it labelled at 5.7 liters, if anything it would be 7.5 liters I'm sure others have noticed it too. I really like your show, I'm subbed now.

I agree the 1970 Buick Riviera was not a classic look but it was a great car. That 455 cubic inch engine with 370 hp could fly!

AMC had a string of 'winners'; the folks at Body By Fisher for GM were usually better... but made some formidable goofs. This is what happens when you design by committee. Having lived as a teenager during the 70's, I can tell that whoever wrote the script for this video can't be older than 30 years old. 1. ALL American cars built in the 70's had big hoods and massive bodies. 2. The Porsche 914 was a very popular car in its day. I stopped watching at this point.

I loved my Porsche 914...ok, it was underpowered (4 cylinder model) and broke down a lot and no one wanted to work on it, but it was extremely cool looking and an absolute blast to drive! And if my experience with it was an indication; a lot of women agreed with me.

Sorry. Loved the Gremlin, and while I never liked the Pacer, there are those who loved them as well.
