@@piphawk if teeth arent broken or half gone you can put it in a white vinegar and forget it like 5 days it will sharpen it works great

Beautiful job. Very few know how to properly restore these old hand planes. Other then the lateral adjustment those Victors are identical to Bailey. I wonder if its all interchangeable

What did you wipe on the handles before you sprayed the polyurethane?
That was an oil based stain I mixed together to get a red color.

I have W124 1987 E300D, plus a 1995 E300 Diesel. The OM603 & OM606 are the best. Street tanks!! Love the W124!!! You will easily get 300,000 miles on both models. They will take you to the moon and back.

Fun fact, I have gotten planes very cheap, for the same thing that your plane had wrong. The iron and chip breaker put together wrong. So many people not realizing how it goes and they assume the plane is junk.

This was so fun to watch, and I love that you added photos of your granddad at the end and the story of the drill in the description. I recently finished restoring my own grandfather's Koken barber chair (also purchased shortly after the war) and I'm about to start editing the footage to share the process. I'll definitely be borrowing your idea and doing the same!

Thank you for your kind words! I have wanted to restore this since I was a kid an it was very rewarding to finally make it happen. I'm very lucky my family kept a lot of Grandad's and Great-Grandad's tools. Hopefully more restorations like this soon.
