I like the films Yates makes but even when this was made it was well known that you should wet your hands before touching a fish.

If i have to watch, read or listen to anyone chasing carp its always Chris Yates or Terry Hearn

couldn’t agree with Dave more!! 1 Corn if i had to choose just 1 bait 🌽 2 Margins people do NOT ignore!! Top angling man 🎣👍. PS i remember fishing the A1 pits (pit4) and opposite me there was a bloke with 4 rods turned up and commenced to SPOD for about 1.5-2 hours then sat there for 3 days and nights,caught nothing!?,me and my mate fished small PVA bags 2 rods and moved 3/4 times in 48hrs and had 15 fish between us 🙂🎣,water craft 👍 and be prepared to move!,also a third of those fish were from the margins !.

Great result, but I don't agree with the mostly nocturnal/mainly night feeding that is constantly pushed. I have only ever done two nights. I did catch 2 or 3 in the night but have caught over 100 during day sessions. 7 in 2 recent trips. If you can use them, live baits out fish everything else, deadbaits, boilies and pellets. These may have to be smelly for the cats to find them. Live baits are not smelly, but their movement and vibrations attract the cats far more frequently.

Went into a well known tackle shop the other day it’s been a few years and I was in there trying to find a couple of pieces the hooks I was after there must of been a 100 different brands ridiculous I was in there nearly an hour 😂 I’m now buying everything online because i know what I want and know how to fish this Chris Yates got me into carp when I was a teenager use to watch he’s films the night before fishing thinking I might catch one as good the old ways still catch all the big fish and small whatever you’re after knowledge of of fishing helps of course

Super fond memories of this water, I only ever fished the day ticket but remember looking over and seeing old black eye poking his head out to say hi. Perfect timing and a core memory of a legend.
