I agree, its a PVE game, so what if weapons feel "broken" thats what makes it fun, i just hope they revert all changes to guns and support stratagems back to their peak performance instead of making them feel lack luster, and when they feel like they can buff or nerf a weapon that is performing decent they reduce its ammo, which is another thing that needs to be reverted, having to rely on teammate with ammo backpacks or trying to call in ammo when you are across the map doing objectives alone or looking for POIs while the rest of the team goes for other objectives is quite annoying especially when you run into teammates who spam ammo pod. i love helldivers but with how they have been running the "balance" changes has made me not want to play the game, and on top of certain enemies being strong, not op, just strong, like hunters and certain devastators (shield and rocket devastator) and now the impaler, need to be worked on, i sure hope they undo most of if not all the nerfs they have made to out gear to bring life back into the game, and i also hope they pick up the pace a little in terms of adding new gear or stratagems, cause it seems to me every like 3-4 months we get a new stratagem, i just wish they would come out with a new one every 1 or 2 months

I know it is an unpopular opinion, but i think that sony is behind those bad decisions, because, before the big issue with sony, devs didnt make any big nerf or change that goes opposite to the community, but after that, i heard one time and another that helldivers 2 got another nerf, even if the community get angry or if the nerf was unjustified, they ignore that, but before they listen the community a lot, i think that this is a bit like, when a tv show is so good, but the tv channel that transmit it, wants another show to be popular, then move the first one to a different schedule, and "surprisingly" now is not profitable

You know,, there are definitely gamers who love that meat grinder effect you get from dark souls. People who want it to be near impossible, mostly awful, so that when you win you "feel like you've achieved something". But that isn't "hard gore" or "casual" those terms are bullshit slogans like the media feeds people the words "liberal and conservative". The words mean nothing. The ultra hard game type is a... game... type. One of many. Far too many devs have tried to get onto this "do everything we can to make the game a miserable experience for most players" vibe, and i think even the meat grinder guys are starting to realize it isn't good for the industry. You want to know where the game really hit its first nose dive? When the game master said quote "a game that is meant to be enjoyed by everyone is a game that isn't for anyone" Meaning double and triple down on the difficulty, nerf everything... And where are we now?... The fan base actively wants to watch the game die. It sounds to me like sometimes if the game isn't for everyone, it will quickly become a game that isn't for anyone. Most of those meat grinder games? Yeah, they're mostly solo experience or at are not meaningfully improved by extra players. When you get into a mainly coop game that kind of game gets real shitty real quick.

This is why I don't buy Swedish games anymore; a thing Swedish devs seems to have in cimmon is that they make great fun games but fucks it all up in live service. Terrible community managers, whiny devs, anti-player policies...

I get the feeling I am the odd one out here. But Helldivers 2 seems a near perfect just turn your brain off and shoot things....even now. I don't care about the meta, I don't care about playing the toughest missions, I don't pay attention to the nerfs and buffs. I just choose what loadout seems fun to my whimsy, dive, and shoot things while trying to look cool in armor. I get they caught lighting in a bottle with the game when it first came out and people are probably most angry about the changes because they where so passionate about it in the beginning. I am excited about Space Marine 2, since I've been involved in Warhammer 40k for over a decade and cannot resist the call of the Imperium, but until the servers for Helldivers are shut down, the SES Hammer of Judgement will never stop fighting for Managed Democracy!

I'm a bit of outsider, Helldivers 1 player. Thing I noticted is that yea "do not engage if not neccesery" was always the rule, you were supposed to drop, do your job and get the fuck out of there. However in Helldivers 1 you could spawn in LAV, Tanks and 3 types of mechs and all of these were tricky to control, so being a driver was a skill on it's own. So moving in a proper formation with different types of vechicles was what could make simply quickly traversing the map fun. Looks like dev tried to apply same philosophy here but forgot it's not nearly as fun when all player got is just their legs and they move at the same speeds. Yea main weapons were weak as shit in Helldivers 1 as well but you could call in a fucking tank and one shot all of the elities. You stered and fired the thing yourself, way more rewarding then calling an air strike.

I honestly don't understand how it's possible that the devs fumbled THIS goddamn much. This game could've been a contender for GOTY (unlikely a winner though), but instead it's more a cautionary tale of what happens when you take advantage of your community's goodwill and patience.

they should initiate unban countries with ones are banned, that would be first good step, but they won't do that, they are to ignorant for that step

Personally i haven't felt any desire to return since that last update. They would have to make everything a lot more powerful to make the game fun again. No-one I know is playing this anymore. It's a shame but I think they're done for now. They need to take the lessons learned and just make sure they don't fumble Helldivers 3 tbh.

This game was never game of the year material, even at the begining. the downfall started with the PSN account linking BS and it has been a steady decline... it's funny to watch since the community who were so united, were happy enough to leave their ''fellow'' players in the dirt if they happened to be in a region which didn't support PSN and to this day they still can't/couldn't play, though turns out they won the better deal

Yeah my computer died a while ago and I’ve been playing other games on my steam deck for a while and I can’t be bothered to pick up hell divers. I think it’s really sad cause I did enjoy it and I tried to get my friends into it but I just can be bothered. I got better shit to do. I hope they can make the game better. This situation reminds me of level-scaling in bethesda games. In Oblivion, theres a certain tavern that has a few bandits in them. if youre low level, they will appear with leather and iron armor. Perfectly fine, however, when you become lvl 20, they suddenly have daedric and glass armor (You get daedric armor from hell btw). Bethesda refuses to let you feel progress, and constantly makes the enemies stronger to keep you struggling instead of letting you have your grinding pay off. Now its come to Helldivers, but instead of level scaling its AH making enemies stronger and weapons weaker in patches.

Ngl, but I am really tired by this point of developers constantly buffing and nerfing weapons in all games. It doesn't make the game any more fun, or a new experience, it just ruins the already existing experience and what the players already enjoy. Its like CoD, some of the most defining features of older CoDs is what the meta's where and what broke it, they gave the game character. Nowadays the game has no character because the meta's always get changed, and it makes it difficult to just jump back into a game when you go in and now everything is different. Also, if a game is perfectly balanced, then what the hell is the point in playing it? Because for perfect balance to exist it effectively means everything must play the same. That's stale AF. What's the point in progressing in the game if you aren't rewarded for it? Again, another CoD comparison, but SBMM means you never get the progressive feeling of being better and constant meta changes mean your never able to master certain playstyles and weapons and then change between them because one day they are viable and the next day they aren't... its just ridiculous. Live service has to be the worst thing that's ever happened to gaming. Wish we could go back to having sequels when the devs want to majorly change a game.

Dang I was planning on buying

i stopped playing when, after one of the new updates that came out "supposedly fixing multiple issues", i noticed the game crashed literally RIGHT before the mission ended, and that's IF you got close to victory. every map, you'd get SWARMED by hulks and heavy devastators. so, after about the 8th time of it crashing mid mission, i told my buddy "that's it, i'm done" and hopped off, and, of course, i haven't hopped on since. and by what i'm hearing, i think i'm going to leave it on "update" and stay away from it until arrowhead gets their shit together.

It's too late for a course correction at this point. The Devs have burned all community good will to the point that even if they could get this game to how it was before all the nerfs they won't see the return they want. They've become short-sited and trust would take to long for them to build back up. To them the best option is milk this game for all its worth and then abandon it when it doesn't make a profit anymore.

Sony happend- got my refund on my 12 hours - sony "backed down" - bought the game again. Now I'm sitting here with a game I don't want to play and I can't refund. Game is still locked in other regions. They keep nerfing the fun. They taught us patriotism. Now they shall feel it.
