Going back to Rome next Fall. How would I get to the starting point of the hike from, say, the Forum/Wedding Cake area?

Il aurait été préférable d' utiliser un drône pour redonner une image cohérente de l ' ensemble. Cet ensemble monumental méprisé par nos contemporains mérite d' être mieux connu. MERCI davoir pris la peine de nous permettre de le ďécouvrir !!!

J'ai vu une transmission montrant comment les Romains recouvraient les dalles en pierre avec une couche de petits cailloux ,puis une de gravier et enfin d' une couche d' un matériel de nature semblable à nôtre macadam ou de ciment. Il est dificile d' imaginer comment un courrier postal à cheval aurait pu parcourir au trot ou au gallop sur une route de dalles irrégulières avec de profonds ou larges sillons.Un cheval ferré se romprait facilement les jarrets d' autant plus que la via Appia n'avait pas de pistes latérales pour les chevaux. Un char tiré par des boeufs, sans suspentions, se casserait très vite , ou nécessiterait quatre boeufs au lieu de deux, pour pouvoir avancer.On sait que les routes de l' Empire des Perses Achéménides pouvaient être parcourues en des temps record sur des milliers de kilomètres. Voulant faire le Romain, j'ai parcouru à grand peine un millium sur la Via Appia ,faisant attention de ne pas m' encoubler à tout moment Il faut donc -me semble-t-il - revoir comment étaient construites les vraies routes romaines !

Procuro há muitos anos pelo local de uma gravura que meu bisavô trouxe para o Brasil com a familia dele, minha bisa, meu avô materno que era o caçula nessa ocasião e seus três outros filhos. Todos nascido em Civitta de Bagnoreggio, meu bisnono nasceu em Castiglione del Lago e o irmão mais velho, em San Micheli in Teverina, todos no Lazio. Essa gravura sempre me encantou desde criança, quando meu avô Giuseppe Capecchi faleceu , minha tia me deu e está comigo até hoje. Meus bisavós chegaram ao Brasil em 1906 e meu bisavô ja tinha essa gravura em sua casa na Itália. Então essa gravura tem certamente mais de 120 anos. Grazie 🙏❤

Beautiful video. Thank you. I'd like to ask for some help/advice. I'm going to Rome in Mid May of this year, 2023. I want to walk the Appian Way, and exactly this same length. However, I want to walk it in the reverse, i.e. from the Via di Tor Carbone back towards Rome center. I'd like to take a taxi or Uber from around Termini Station to the end (my starting) point. For a taxi driver, it's not that much different a trip than the trip to Ciampino Airport. Does that make sense? Any tips/advice? My plan is for a Sunday, but I can change.

Why don't you talk Italian? I think it's better understandable than your poor pronunciation of the English. It is really awfull. It's a pain to my ears. Maybe you should take some English lessons as well. Sorry to tell you, but the content of your words is really good, but the voice over is just terrible.
