I think the Professors were originally planned to be the villains. Then the action sequence they animated got glitched a lot (like the game bugs its self) so they decided to hide them, then killed them and utilized the glitchy models and its movements as the New Character the AI ! Finally they weaved this development to a story all "accidently".

This was really a great video! I agree with these choices. My favorite moments were when Ash and Greninja mastered the Ash-Greninja form. Serena throwing Snowballs to knock some sense into Ash. Infernapes ultimate revenge against Paul when he defeated his Electrivire. Ash taking good care of Larvatar yet I wished he caught it. The Team Flare Arc was simply amazing! Hunter J is the best villain Pokemon ever made! Fight me! That’s it for now.

Serena is a great character in the Pokemon series. It’s sad that she receives so much unfair hate for petty and stupid reasons. But I guess that’s what happens when you’re a Pokegirl, Unjustified Hate is just something that comes when you're a travelling companion of Ash at this point. However I love Serena! her goal doesn't require battling, but for another, more important aspect, is that the battles aren't about winning or losing, but her character. We see her develop into this beautiful talented performer. She’s not the same girl we met in XY 1. She's changed, and it's for the better. She's grown, matured, and become her own person. Her crush, and eventual expression of that crush, is a clear signpost of it. More than that, it was her feelings for Ash that pushed her forward in a sense. Ash, and the concept of Amourshipping, helped her to stick with things and grow more confident, because she saw how he did. Amour is at the core of Serena's character, expanding her character not just through her internal demons, but through her internal feelings for the boy next to her, offering a different method and way of helping her grow. While her path at the beginning is goalless, it is not directionless. She tries new things, but shows her state of giving up at the littlest thing until she decides to commit to Showcases. From there, her conviction is tested by numerous forces, not the least of which is her own internal problems stemming from wanting to give up. While Serena not finding out what she wanted to do. yes I loved and hated this, it took her so long to find what she wanted to do but when she did she killed it. Plus she did play a major role in the Team Flare Arc in protecting Bonnie and Manon from the vines, and helping Steven and Sycamore save Manon’s Chespie. Not only that but she did hold her own against a couple of Team Flare grunts before and after the Arc. She may not be the strongest battler but she sure as hell ain’t no pushover either!

The shock factor line was the one that spoke the loudest to me. Something id been noticing from more and more people over the years including those who i used to consider friends "I'm just having fun quit being so uptight" they tell me. Then they proceed to start complaining that their lives have gotten so boring and stale and people have been ghosting them lately. Like yeah, no shit. They go so over the top trying be a unique a quirky individual that they repel others, then burn themselves out trying to keep that act up

I personally love Goh, his goal is interesting and I don't get the hate. If you hate him for the Suicune episode then that is ridiculous, He caught Suicune because he had the intention of saving it from the Pokemon hunters. You guys make it sound so simple like he just catch for the sake of it but in reality, he did catch Suicune. Still, he had to gain it trust first and after Suicune willing chooses to be his partner that episode shows that even he wants to catch Pokemon he does freaking care for them like healing them and looking after them and even trying to protect Suicune from the Pokemon hunters you guys are acting like all he did was catch the pokemon and now suddenly they are BFFS when really Goh had to gain it trust through his actions and Suicune came to the realization that Goh isn't like those Pokemon Hunters.

I was not prepared for that scene when Arven confessed why he was looking for those herbs. Around the time this game came out, I had lost my Himalayan, Cassandra. She was over 19 years old, nearly 90 in human years. Like Arven, I spent a lot of money on her health, foolishly thinking I could prolong the inevitable. Cassie was my first pet at age 10. As a kitten she loved the car, traveled with me on a roadtrip when I graduated, and was such a sweet, loving companion. I wasn't ready to say goodbye and I felt like I was failing her with every diagnosis. She was slowing down, and there was nothing I could do. It was one of my college teachers who told me that I hadn't failed her, I gave Cassie a full life with lots of love and wonderful memories. I was so good to her, and if she spoke, she would've been thankful to have such a great owner. It was about 4 months after that, she jumped on my bed, curled up by my stomach like she always did...then she was gone. When I got to that part in the game, I didnt realize I was crying. I think seeing that helped me heal and move on. I was happy for Arven, I felt good about helping someone, even if its fictional. It prompted me later that year to volunteer at a shelter and...um...I inevitably adopted a really sweet black cat that I named, Orion, who came all the way across four states to mine. He was a SoCal cat, complete with a little Hawaiian bandana, looking for a home. He's nothing like Cassie, a total chatterbox, almost like he backtalks to me, but acts starved for attention. I love him, I'm glad to have him in my life.

It’s pretty clear why everyone likes her so much. She’s a really funny and relatable character. She wants to understand Pokémon and she is very socially awkward, which she has to overcome, and it’s Sprigatito who helps her through it. Also, can we all admit that Liko’s partner Pokémon Sprigatito is just a lovely little Gato? She can be fickle at times (though she is a cat), but she’s also super charming and sociable, and she can be really funny at times as well. She’s also pretty badass as well. I’m glad I picked the Grass Cat as my starter Pokémon in “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet”. These two are just ace together. Also, Roy and Fuecoco are also really good. Fuecoco is such a funny little spud, and Roy reminds me a Lot of Ash.

All three rivals in SV are personally relatable in different ways. Nemona is the most socially relatable, as I faced similar levels of ostracision not just by peers, but by teachers as well, leaving me hopelessly alienated simply for being on a different wavelength, and the aftereffects haven’t gone away years later. It sucks that I have yet to truly sync with others, and everyone else I knew while growing up has been able to find some fulfilling purpose in their lives, while I’m left stuck and drifting aimlessly with no clear path in sight. It’s no wonder this game always leaves me in tears the instant the credits roll… 😭

Honestly, didn’t think about this being an ICY reference until months later, but I feel Ash would do well with a Marshadow. Masters had your playable character fight Ash in an “Intro to Pasio” tournament, and his fighting style was detailed during his Dracovish’s fight with your Torchic. Close off distance, and go in for the kill. Torchic tried to keep Dracovish away, but Dracovish was able to counter Torchic by water gunning the ground, and freezing it with Ice Fang, leaving Torchic stuck, so Ash could close the distance and use Fishious Rend. That kind of fighting style fits Perfectly with Marshadow hopping into people’s shadows to fight them up close and personal Also, a couple side tangents. A, 4:08 It’s a real shame to me how the Lucario Ash finally got, amounted to little more than a Greninja bootleg. And B, ABSOLUTELY agree on Larvitar and Solgaleo. Regardless of how you may feel about Ash owning the two under Togepi logic, or the Pikachu Dream Sequence(Not counting the MPM poster or the promo video shown in the subway. The actual show is more conclusive than a single jpeg of promo material), I’m still mad that he never caught them. Especially since Solgaleo was the PERFECT opportunity for Ash’s first proper legendary. And I say that as someone who Loves Melmetal

Liko’s got the cuteness factor and relatability everyone talks about, don’t get me wrong. But if you ask me, her Writing is where she excels. Her goal, personality, and “Kindness is always a plus, but if it makes you too complicit, you’ll only accidentally hurt people More with your pacifism” arc, are Very new for Pokémon, and she executed that concept Very well. I feel my opinion on Horizons as a whole can sum up my thoughts on Liko. It’s the Legends Arceus effect. After decades of a formula that’s very easy to stagnate(especially if we just went with “recycling Ash clones, except they Win”, and making the anime a Direct mirror of the games with nothing like Ash-Greninja or Infernape’s Blaze), The anime is finally doing something new and innovative, and Succeeding because they’re doing Such a good job with so many new ideas meshing together Perfectly

Tbh I like Liko better than Post-XYZ Ash. Roy gets on my nerves sometimes but I know this is technically a "Kids" show. So they have no choice lol

Never saw her as a Mary Sue, just felt like I was gonna need a restraining order with how obsessed she was.

Although it was nice having a familiar face for each generation, what kept the anime fresh at the time was how Ash would, more or less, start fresh with a new team of Pokémon. Even when there seemed to be a pattern forming for the type of Pokémon Ash would catch and add to his team, it was still exciting wondering just which Pokémon we’d get, what their personalities were, and what they brought to that specific team. Now, we get that and so much more because we’re still too early on in the adventure to really know enough about Liko, especially as she grows and changes over time.

For Sun & Moon and also Journeys series, the producers were trying something new so it is obvious that Sun & Moon doesn’t feature Gym Battles and Journeys is supposed to show Ash in a bit of different direction because he became an Alola Champion
