I love to fly on the 767. I have flown on it since Boeing introduced it. I still love flying on it between Wash DC and Munich and Wash DC and Vienna. I hope they keep them and just upgrade them.

I've flown with both. I prefer the sitck. The yoke tends to block the view of some instruments especially on a glass panel, IMO.

I flew on Finnair 757-200 on five occations back in the 2000s. It was a powerful long-haul work-horse that took off like a rocket.

Not fair to describe the 737-800 as a re-engined 737-100. The NG has different wing, tail, cockpit, systems, landing gear. Even the doors are different. The reason Boeing choose to keep the 737 moniker was to keep a common type rating.

The only problem is when you're seated in the back of the plane. Much too large a plane for just 1 aisle. Sitting up front is much better. Seems to be a reliable plane; much preferred to the 737 family due to recent reliability issues.

Talk about designs being long in the tooth. Thanks to that twit Harry Stonecipher, Boeing came up with the 737 Max instead of designing a brand new aircraft. I suppose they were still smarting from the 787 debacle. Anyway, we all know how that went. I will no longer fly on a Boeing aircraft, no matter what the model.

THE 757 is a really cool jet. There is no market for it though. Boeing could probably sell no more than 500 units, no where near enough to break even. It has much better small field performance than the Airbus 321 and much better range. It is far more expensive to run. The 321 beats it for normal short hall routes. Bigger, more efficient aircraft beat it for long haul routes. Smaller far less expensive regional jets have the small fields covered. It used to be a favorite of tour groups where it's long range, decent size and good performance made it usefull. Unfortunately the companies mostly went bankrupt after 9-11. Finally, the stretched 737 competes with the 321 better for economical smaller jets. This is too bad because it is such a cool jet.

Gear changes were hard to do. Especially if you worked with Brian who was a huge guy at American and always the hitter!
