"Air Supremacy early in the war" (10:06)... When did that happen? Did I miss sonmething?
OF COURSE IT ISN'T, OR THE US AIR FORCE WOULDN'T HAVE PICKED THE F-22. EACXH HAS IT'S DOMINANT CHARACTERISTICS, HOWEVER WHICH ONES WERE DOMINANT ON THE USAF LIST.
For all the smartasses in the comments saying it's a copy of the F-35, it's due to a little thing called "Maintaining a small RCS (Radar Cross Section), and not sacrificing agility at the same time. And as for the "It's just a piece of paper" thing, why do you think so? When has India given up on its projects? As an American, I don't think y'all should be speaking for the US Government, who are you to say that the government will sell India engines or not? India and the US's relations are improving alot. And it's not like India is going to ask the US for engines, but even if they do, I'm pretty sure The US will gladly provide engines. And also, for the people saying "By the time India comes up with a 5Th Gen Fighter, other countries will already make 6th Gen fighters" It all goes down to a country's needs. Countries constantly involved in conflict like the US, Russia, etc. need the best tech to keep going. But other countries with conflicts being less of a concern don't really need to go that far, although India needs a 5th Gen Fighter because of its tensions with China and Pak
Man the range is almost halved that of the f35… thats embarassing to even call it a competitor
Though I love these videos, and the professional content, I personally think the Shenyang J-16 is even more advanced than the Su-35.
Overrated.😊
As well as the F14
It is fortunate that you guys did not have dispense Agent Orange. A very good friend of mine died a very slow and horrible death from related cancer and treatment....50 years after he was in Vietnam.😢
Yeah, this amazing aircraft will be around for many years to come.
Russian jets so badass
I was present at the 1992 airshow and recall how even the US pilots were impressed by its manoeuvrability. Also present was the Yak-38 v/stol aircraft. It took off vertically once, burnt a huge hole in the runway and then was banned from doing it again 😂
That was badass. Where can I learn more about that Yak-38 incident.
Very fortunate to know the late, great Nicky Barr...and was present at his book launch in the early 2000s...written so capably by Author Peter Dornan. Nicky Barr was one of 3 Squadron's most successful aces in the early part of the war...incredible man. 1915-2006.
Not so sure about "ultimate Flanker", I'd bet the Su-30MKI or J-16 would be more advanced.
The Su-30mki uses a weaker radar and engines that aren't as good as the Su-35. The J-16 though, does have better avionics but worse engines.
@@voidtempering8700 won’t matter as the mki ‘s are going through a upgrade project with new radar & engines etc
Flanking the F-35 isn't going to be that difficult anyway
??
You're right, it'd be damn near impossible.
@@solowingborders3239 with AWAC's, it will be.
Jets lolling about in the sky at low speed and crazy angles are entertaining at air shows and such. Is there a practical application for such maneuvers? Obviously, some of the same control features can be judiciously used to great effect in real-world situations.
Its good for domestic consumption. Exciting airshow performances create a feeling of competency. But don't underestimate its WVR and BVR capabilities. Its presence will make sure the west will never enjoy air supremacy.
Thanks for the just the facts analysis
Yes, I get the feeling the stealth might be a little bit ordinary, but otherwise it's a very competent, airframe. Very agile for such a big bird. Good payload, good range, excellent low-speed high alpha ability. You wouldn't want to get in close & tight against it. I notice it still uses a mechanically steered radar array. That suggests the electronics and avionics are still about 20 years behind what the Americans have got. On the plus side, I wouldn't be all that surprised if the infra-red suite is actually better than what the yanks and NATO have.
Russia hyperfans from indonesia's top idol 😂😂😂
Are you being stupid on purpose or does it take effort?
You have put up a good work understanding India's military manufacturing. Unlike other western journalists, you gave proper credits to the country and its manufacturing ecosystem with out belittling the enormous efforts of its scientific and engineering fraternity. Respect man.....🙏❤️
When you read or watch interviews with Japanese WWII pilots they say that they considered Navy pilots in the F6F to be their most formidable foe.
TURKISH KAAN WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE ARMY IN 2028
TFX KAAN MADE ITS SECOND FLIGHT IN 2024. AMCA PROTOTYPE IS PLANNED TO FLY IN 2047.
...all this because someone has to compare them.
They are very successful in unmanned aerial vehicles and attack helicopters. I believe that they will be successful in warplanes and the navy in the coming years.
Saya orang indonesia merasa malu dengan pemerintah kami yang korup dan tidak memiliki rasa malu mengkhianati hubungan antar negara 😢😢😢
Good Lord, by the time these Dodos come up with a flying prototype, most of the countries would already have 7th Gen fighters and by the time we enter the production phase of our 5th AMCA, other countries would be operating the 10th Gen iterations. Just stop wasting the Taxpayers money and buy whatever is available for grabs from other countries. What a shame. No point feeling patriotic and getting all emotional when reality jumps and bites you in the butt. 😐😐😐
The P47 was regulated to ground attack, I believe, and it decimated Tanks, Locomotives and Barges. Do those not count as kill rates?
The quality of the video is perfect… Respect to producer of the video and thank you for explaining. 🎉 🇹🇷
Cool post!
Great bloke, nice insight to the early days of the war
Nice video!
We all know LMT got the contract because of bribes. They have been doing it since the Starfighter, and they do it better than anyone else in the industry.
where they couldn't success in preparing for full operational their 4th gen fighter completely how it's possible to develop 5th gen for them?
They will be ready by 2100
I'm a retired Veit Nam vet 😮
This history stuff about Vietnam war 🤔 stuff is good servivel tactics history _
May be it's competitors were not as efficient as their makers 😅
I flew both. I prefer the Corsair because it looks cooler.
Its bharat Foxbat
One of my favourite stories of the Caribou is that a number were diverted on delivery flights to go straight to Vietnam. Flying in them is one of my most memorable flight experiences.
Well I suppose most flights took some time, so easier to remember.
@@glennmcc64 True, with a decent headwind you could end up further away from your destination than when you started. 😂
The YF-23 allegedly had more stealth capabilities than the YF-22. It only lost to the YF-22 in terms of agility due to the lack of tail stabilizers
Apartheid

The whole point of a re-usable space plane was to also re-use the absurdly expensive rocket motors as well. The Soviets threw theirs away at every launch. They then put engines in for re-entry and landing. Yet the American shuttle never needed engines for landing and glided successfully down each landing. The Russians used liquid boosters but this was very expensive. Letting the Russians get the plans via public domain sources was like a Trojan horse. "Here's the plans, Russia. (Now let's see them go bankrupt trying to build and fly it!)"
I remember the F16XL back in the late 80s.
As an Indian I can say with surety that India is not gonna be able to make these highly advanced jets. It's a bet 😂
as an indian ? na as a muslim u should say , cz its in records of history , the muslims will always back stab the hands that feeded them. look at all the islamic countries and now france , muslim behaviour of hating the same hands is crazy
You didnt mention about bhramos? Do AMCA have hard points for bhramos?
Wowwww... HAL Tejas has new look. The old wine India couldn't sale out to the world, is new available in brand new packaging. 🤣😂
A muslim saying it ? cz its in records of history , the muslims will always back-stab the hands that feeded them. look at all the islamic countries and now france , muslim behaviour of hating the same hands is crazy
still a failed fproject same like hal tejas
As a wee lad, I was fortunate to have a 3SQN Kittyhawk pilot as a flying instructor. Although he didn’t discuss much of the war, I always appreciated his patience. Flying training in a C-150 (although it was an Aerobat) must have been so mundane to such a man. Vale Rex Laver.
