That's sad because I was under the impression that the Italians were more tolerant of Black people than some other European ethnic groups. They're not 100 % European any way, so I can't imagine what their problem is, given their own African and Middle Eastern ancestry. The Moors conquered Italy and Spain for 800 long years! Their culture reflects various influences. Furthermore, the first Europeans were Black people, according to scientists, who have determined that Africans existed for some 300,000 years before a depigmentation gene swept through Europe, creating the modern pale-complexioned European. They descended from Africans--as did the Chinese, the Japanese, and all other groups of people. Wear your African identity like a badge of honor! Be proud of who you are. Africans were the first human beings, the original prototype. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

Y’all gotta stop with these videos, maybe they just didn’t like you. I have traveled the world, and I have never experienced racism on the level that the world says exist. I am by no means saying racism does not exist, but in my almost 40 years of living and being to every continent with the exception of Antarctica, I do not share these experiences. Just because someone doesn’t like you doesn’t mean they racist. They are just ignorant and don’t even like themselves. People need to check their attitude and their inferiority complexes before they call an entire country racist. I’m not saying this young lady did not experience racism but these videos perpetually paint us as victims and I’m tired of it.

Go where you are celebrated not where you are tolerated ! Don’t go to a country and say they are a problem cos the problem is in your country, and that’s the very reason you are in their country

YeH, I was in Italy, and went to a store to buy water before I walked around the city. When I got in the store, I immediately felt eyes on me. As this is normal, I grabbed a water and went to the counter. I'm standing in line and in front of me a man (white who was a tourist also he was on a tour i was on) paid for his things. He got a smile and some conversation. My turn I say hello inget nothing, I give her my money, and instead of handing me my change, this lady legit threw my money to the end of the counter. Didn't look at me, didn't day a word, just yetted my money. I look at the money go by and I look at her, and she didn't even look at me. Now, if I act out, I'm wrong and I don't want to go to jail in a foreign country I grab it and leave the story. Another time on a tour, the guide mentioned we can leave our bags in the bus and we can come back anytime as thewpuld not leave. Around lunch time a group went back. I happened to be close to the bus and decided I wanted to grab something. He only saw me as I knock led on the door. Dude ignores me for a sec, I knock a again and he start yelling and talking with his hand (I thought this was only in movies, but a lot of Italians did this) I don't know what he was saying but he definitely wasn't saying nice things. By they way, the door still wasn't open. He didn't see the people waiting to the side, one lady (white) popped her head in the door, he is still in the middle of his tantrum as soon as he saw her he stopped and opened the door. I walked on and stopped right in front of him for a bit, not saying anything. Then just walked back and grabbed my bag. In the way past the people they were whispering to themselves. The tour guide must have been told because he was explaining that what he mentioned was that they had breaks and we had to go back only after asking him and blah blah blah. All in all, I had a good time seeing the sites. Just people I ran into were awful. Oh, and Spain is worse, in my opinion. Dear God, Spanish people are horrible to and dark-skinned people take about not hiding it either.

I spent 2 weeks in Italy and had a fantastic time. The Italian people were amazing and welcoming there was so inviting. I can’t wait to return.

I’m seeing dumb responses like Black people need to be more uplifting in their own community, not understanding that the whole country has put that in the system that most of us a lot of us had to grow up in so you don’t learn certain things like self-love, but because she’s traveling, wanna see the rest of her world she gets treated differently. It should not matter what color you are to get certain experiences that you want out of life. You can’t put that narrative as one person said on everyone just because everybody else is not welcoming into a spot doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be able to explore that with the whole Black people don’t practice what they preach a lot of these cultures already came with money culture came with money. A lot of that was taken from us. Read your history books but at the same time it is something that you can’t place on every black person and say that we’re not a new generation creating a better life for people like us not excluding people, but focusing on uplifting ours and it’s not to say white people don’t have these issues where they’re doing things that does not uplift their community just like any other nationality that has something of a negative cloud over it does not scream that culture isn’t isn’t doing well like it’s just silly race wars

I stayed in Italy as well. I did not encounter any issues- I was in Livorno Italy due to the military. however now that I'm thinking about it. I didn't see any African American men or women dating an Italian.
