That man signed R.D. for his "Ram Lakhan" (a third rate version of evergreen "Deewaar"). Pancham was very excited by this. But one fine morning, Ghai dropped him unceremoniously (without even bothering to inform Panchamda) favouring his regular Laxmikant-Pyarelal. This shocked Pancham & he suffered a mild attack. It is indeed surprising that a music director, who had worked with stalwarts & big names like Nasir Hussain, Vijay Anand, Dev Anand, Ramesh Sippy, Shakti Samanta, Mehmood, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Hrishida & Gulzar should get affected by this act of an ordinary & over-rated film maker like Subhash Ghai. R.D. was & is far far more talented & genious than the average Ghai.
