I Discovered a Fishing Paradise- GIANT FISH đŸ€«
This video I explore the barely accessible coastline of Fast castle. I spend 4 days exploring the cliffs, rocky outcrops and finally the offshore waters on my new kayak! I think this is the most successful fishing on the east coast i've filmed yet!

I Caught the Biggest Fish in the UK (I'll never call a fish giant again)
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 153KPƙed měsĂcem
This video has been the hardest but most rewarding project yet. The Common Skate is the largest non- migratory fish living in UK waters and from my experience is fairly unknown to the general public. I hadn't known about this fish until recently but as soon as I discovered there were fish which could weigh more than me - I had to catch one. This video only scratches the surface of the planning,...
And I thought May was too early... (Shocking result) | Lure fishing- The Isle of Skye
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 46KPƙed měsĂcem
After a long wait my lure rod finally got to see the daylight again up in its favourite place... The Isle of Skye! After spending a long time obsessing with catching a skate and having little luck, I knew I needed to touch base and go back to my routes- Lure fishing for Pollack. On this day I travel to another ultra remote location and get massively rewarded for doing so. This was the second be...
Fishing from an ULTRA REMOTE ISLAND- 1000 Subscriber Special!
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 2,8KPƙed 3 měsĂci
I travelled miles up to the remote North West of Scotland to search and fish from some of the hardest land to stand on in the country. On this truly magnificent day, I walk and paddle my kayak 2.5 miles to reach this island. Initially, I wasn't sure if there was going to be any fish at this time of year so I prepared myself with both my lure and bait rod. Not everything went completely to plan ...
Searching for fish in unlikely places | Urban sea fishing | Edinburgh
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 16KPƙed 4 měsĂci
With the Cod season coming to a close and fish becoming more sparsely dispersed, I thought that I would be a good idea to mix it up and try a new setting, targeting some different species of fish. In this video, I spend 3 days hunting for whatever will take a bait, fishing some of the various pier and breakwater marks from the north of Edinburgh. Unlike some of my videos, in this case, persiste...
Fishing the ENTIRE Length of the Northumberland Coast
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 5KPƙed 5 měsĂci
In this video I bait fish the full length of the Northumberland coastline. This video was shot over 2 days. 2 very hard, but enjoyable days. I fished: St Marys island, Cresswell, Low Huxley, Dunstanburgh Castle, Beadnell and finally Marshall meadows, using a variety of baits from mackerel to cart wings. I primarily targeted cod, but with happy to catch any species. Fortunately, low winds and ni...
The Cod Capital Of The Country- Bait Fishing, Arbroath
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 9KPƙed 6 měsĂci
This week I decided to venture up North, following many tips and suggestions. Arbroath has been a mark which I have been itching to fish this whole winter and I finally got the time to get up. This video ended up being shot over 2 days and I couldn't be happier that it was. I think it totalled out to be 18 hours of bait fishing with 2 rods and a further 8 hours of travelling. Fortunately this w...
Winter lure fishing for Cod and Pollack- Exploring new marks
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 1,6KPƙed 7 měsĂci
I was super excited to have conditions good enough to lure fish this week, I headed down to St. Abbs feeling very hopeful. On the first day the fishing didn't go as well as planned, only managing to land a few Coalies. After releasing a few blanks recently I wanted to put my all into getting a nice fish out for the channel. It ended up taking 3 trips down to get what I was after! Please check o...
Bait Fishing Northumberland- Hunt for a double figure Cod
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 7KPƙed 7 měsĂci
On these couple of days I headed down to Northumberland to fish a mark called Dunstanburgh Castle. I have been on a mission lately to find reliable marks for Cod, I thought this mark looked fishy enough to commence my Northumberland adventure. I hope you enjoy, tight lines to anyone who is going out!🎣
Cod fishing the UNFISHABLE
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 4KPƙed 8 měsĂci
I have been keen to fish this mark for a while now but with winter conditions the risk is too high to do so. I decided that I was going to put some abseiling gear into the car to give me access to it. Before I had even got the rods out I was down arguably the most important (certainly the most expensive) piece of kit which was with me at the time. Enjoy!
Bait fishing for Cod- Can I recover a 100+ hour blank?
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 1,8KPƙed 8 měsĂci
Over the last couple of months I have been relentlessly fishing for Cod. I've fished over 10 different rock marks which fish deep water- on paper perfect locations. These months have cost me hundreds of pounds of rigs, line, bait and fuel. As always, blanking is only driving me to fish harder! Is today the day to put the blank behind us? Enjoy!
Fishing STRANDED on a tidal island
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 2KPƙed 8 měsĂci
I thought I'd go a little bit out the box with this one! I had to see if a full day stuck on a tidal island could be the key to saving my blanking streak. After many many hours of blanking, fishing for cod, I knew that it was going to take something extreme to put this streak to rest. Is 12 hours on a tidal island enough time to end the blank?? This one got me to bed a couple of hours before my...
Lure fishing for Cod and Pollock from an incomparable location
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 2,3KPƙed 9 měsĂci
Lure fishing, targeting Cod and Pollock from an ultra inaccessible location. I mentioned in one of my previous videos that I had some 'unfinished business' here. I was fortunate to have good conditions a week later so I decided to get back down there and see if we could land some of the fish I lost in the previous session. it turned out to be a great day on the rocks with loads of fish of multi...
INSANE Pollock session- Lure fishing, The Isle of Skye
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 7KPƙed 9 měsĂci
Lure fishing for BIG pollock. After months of dreaming about this I finally got a few days off with good conditions to explore the Isle of Skye. As alway when fishing a new mark I was a little sceptical about how the fishing would be. Fortunately it took no more than 2 casts for my fears to be buried. The fishing shown this video includes nearly 100% catching so It did come out to be a little l...
Mackerel from the rocks- Catch, clean and cook!
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 3,3KPƙed 10 měsĂci
Back down at St Abbs for this one. Targeting Mackerel in some deep water rock marks with feathers. Bit of a catch and cook after the fishing where I go through the process of getting fillets off the fish and how I like to cook them. Ended up with a few nice fish which will be used for bait over the winter. Hope you enjoy!

I first fished Fast Castle about 15 years ago and it was almost my last trip. It is a super dangerous place to tackle unless you know exactly what you're doing, and know how to get yourself out of the trouble that you will almost definetly get in to. I only ever fish it from a kayak now, but only after spending quite a lot of time researching tides and swells. It's not a place you can just rock up to and cast a line.

Two tips. When they suck onto the bottom like that, pull the line taut and then pluck it. (They have the line in their mouth, underneath the body, and it's going up to you. When you pluck that line, it flicks them around the face and upsets them, often making them move. Same trick works with rays.) The other tip is a something many fishermen are forgetting as reels get better. The name Angling comes from the angle between the water level and the line which you create using the rod. The rod is then a big, flexible shock absorber. The line is a relatively inflexible cord. The reel has a drag that lets the fish pull out more line rather than break it. The missing link is using the rod to make it harder for the fish to take line. When a big fish runs, you want to lean back and try to get the rod tip as high as you can. Then, to pull more line, the fish first has to bend the rod over so there's no more give, at which point then it can pull more line off the reel. The rod is meant to take a lot of the energy out of the run, making the fish work even harder for every inch of line, wearing it down faster until eventually you can land it. When the only drag a reel had was the fisherman's hand slowing it down, using the rod this way was a lot more important, but for big fish it's still an important principle of fishing to bring into play. What an amazing encounter with such a unique fish. Tight lines!

I have a question regarding sea fishing. In general, is it safe to use a motor powered belly boat for sea fishing? (If I’m fishing close to shore). Do I need to be wary of tide times etc? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    • @UntouchedFishing
      @UntouchedFishing Pƙed 4 dny

You’ll be absolutely fine. Make sure you have oars as back up though at least. Tides shouldn’t affect you too much with an outboard- wind will be your biggest issue. Anything over a 15mph onshore and I wouldn’t bother. If you don’t have enough horses a stony offshore could be very dangerous.
