I’d suggest putting it into calves, it’s worth more on the hoof than in the truck.
@@farmtex5768 We fatten as much as able. My shortage for expanding the cow herd is grass acres😕. This is a small % of crop 😉. Probably wouldn’t have sold if I hadn’t ruined the tractor tire and had to buy a pair 👍🏻
@@GeigerFarm Understandable, sometimes you just need some cash flow. It just sucks how anything else in this world is priced by the owner. But everything us farmers grow or raise is priced by the blood suckers in some far off office. The sad part is, I don’t ever see it changing……

I am not sure on the price Don. I would say just the craziness of the election year?? It appears that the stock market is doing well and that always hurts commodities. And yes, the commodity futures have an effect upon organic prices, in perception at least, they tend to follow each other's trends.

Crazy that even the organic market is low. Deffinitelly something is being played with.
Stocks go up, tariffs go up, grain goes DOWN. It’s an old pattern. Hopefully farmers the reserves to withstand👍🏻

Grew up in Iroquois county,Illinois. Moved to Tennessee 10 years ago. All the hay here is weeds and grass. Good stuffs trucked in from Illinois and Indiana.

If theres ever one thing i never care to ever do again its bale hay😂 my grandfather used his grand kids as free labor ( rightfully so) but for some reason i was the one that never gave up after a few hours. Few years ago a friend needed help with his an after tossing a few i remembered why i hated doing it😂 i garuntee ive tossed enough hay bales to build the great pyramid
@@gamebred5662 I fell in this group as well. My father had a new big baler, yet still felt the compulsion to fill as much storage as possible 😉…at times leaving equipment outside to make room for more square bales😒😂. There’s not a lot of sentimentality here. We bale for purpose! This hay will be used in grinding feed for our cattle 👍🏻. This is nature’s vitamin A and trace mineral supplement.
