They become repetitive in the long run, ocoming back more and more to things they already said. Is this intended? Are they supposed to restrict themselves to a few short comments? Or is this more like something one should overcome by training?

It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t pop. It has nice shape and the actresses have done lots of work, it’s evident. Especially the one coming in - she was working off the other person’s behaviour the most. Yet, there was a lack of urgency behind the responses at times, there were moments that were anticipated, there were moments that didn’t come from the other actor. And there were moments when they were “acting”. Too much showing/indicating and not enough “being”. Some choices I didn’t agree with (art is subjective). When she grabbed her bag to put on lipstick was clunky and cliche and she was trying too hard at times. Acting is the only thing in the world where the harder you try the worse it is. I don’t mean the above to be criticism - in fact, not only did they do fantastic job, the above problems would have been solved with the right director- I’m willing to bet that they would have killed it with a director that knows what they are doing. Meisner actors are some of the best at adjustments and taking direction. As an exercise in relationship - playing strangers is the foundation relationship of doors and activities - yet the subtleties of what tied them together as strangers were evident in their performance. So they nailed that aspect.

4:47 this is so true, im working on a student film where some similar events actually happened to me but during the shooting of the scene I lacked emotional connection channeling that, like you said, there are no real stakes because you know the outcome. I then had to resort to imagining the future of my character losing all of its potential. So that was the "as if" part but man... That was crazy that I still had to use my imagination for something I already related to
