Well you are talking out of your booty because promotion, studio time and hired musicians are extremely expensive, more than talent can pay for, 90 % of the time. When you say "Dont do it half-ass, you are insulting some great musicians who have worked very hard and have done thier very best. "Just save up." What a blurp straight out of Fantasyland. As if no one has been saving up. Yuck on this one.

First, everything has been done already so chances of being unoriginal are slim. Second, Spotify "spams" me all the time with their "suggested" albums that mostly have nothing to do with what I was originally listening to. Gotta spread the butter to get it on the bread man! Lastly, have you ever seen ANY Metal Album's cover art in the past how many years?! They look like a kindergarten kid, with a box of markers and a bad attitude got commissioned for these things. Not to mention all the deep woods and graveyard photos. But people really do relate to what they relate to. People, do what you want! Niche Marketing exists as long as you're smart about it. Fans can really cut through the bull anyway...

I was against 360 deals, until i understood how a lot of artist dont understand what goes into it all. They in turn risk everything on some dumb sh1t. And it falls back on you putting Time & Energy in an artist that's uncoachable, and self destructive. I preach independence, but eventually Im going to have to operate this damned thing like a label.

I think some of the "reviews" were fake AI responses and some were from people who didn't understand my music and would never be a part of my audience anyway. I had a review that made absolutely no sense like it was written by an incoherent drunk. A couple reviews compared my song to the Sex Pistols and Fear and had a fitting punk vibe. But then a couple people compared it to Drake and The Beatles and 30 seconds to Mars which made absolutely no sense.

Soundcloud is really bad for scammers. I had one message me saying that they were from A&R Records and wanted to sign one of my songs. Then they started asking for money to master the track. And as soon as i asked. Is this a scam. I never heard from them again.
