Could you use the wax on a carving that has been painted with acrylic paints

I use a shoe brush when I use Howard's Feed and Wax that you can also put it on you painted carvings makes them pop

Hi Van, your videos have really helped me since I started carving 14 months ago & I thank you for that. For a while now I've moved away from Basswood & began carving wood from the local forests (Beech, Ash, Hazel etc.). Obviously the carving process is a lot slower & even though I'm looking to carve in a more rustic fashion your tutorials are invaluable. I'm carving faces in approx 2" dia branches. Whilst I am improving my biggest problem is the transitions from the eyes to nose/cheeks & generally bringing 'life' to my carvings without them looking too wooden (pun intended). I'm guessing that experience will be my biggest friend here but, at some stage in the future, if you could maybe cover this then I would be ever so grateful. Thanks so much for your efforts.

Good video as usual. Thanks for sharing. I recently ordered 4 Roughouts from you and they are good wood, easy to carve and paint. Just a suggestion…. I’m an experienced carver and had no trouble, but especially for a newer carver…. It would be helpful to send along four finished photos rather than just the front view if you have the time. That way we know what front, both sides, and back should look like when complete. Thanks, Van.

Thanks. I have found that using a toothbrush to apply the feed n wax works well. You can then use the same toothbrush to get it out of the cracks after it soaks in.

I told people who i was helping that it is better to have 3 good tools than a full set cheap ones
