28 degrees is high, as you well know. Surprised you didn’t lower it some to make it a little more slicey. Of course, Hinderers aren’t slicey no matter what you do. And they come super dull. Pocket jewelry for collectors, but not a good EDC by any stretch.
I usually don’t modify factory angles unless there is a reason or requested by the owner. This one needed to look factory original.
HOLY SHIT!!!
HOLY SHIT!!!!
HOLY SHIT!!!
Nice work!
An hilarious south park epp
What up boys and girls
Hello knife enthusiasts!
I'm un-subing!!!! You use scissors instead of knives. You are SOOOO FIRED. LOL HA HA... KNIVES OR BUST. Watch you drop them scissors on you bare feet.
I bought yours. That particular model was made by reate. Most are made in Italy though. Ace Sonoma V2
Aloha
I’d pay to see sauced up Jason 😂
Just got my first kunwu padre today
Quite the pair you’ve got, Dogs that is, they were cracking me up 🤣😎
I am trying to decide between the Hapstone RS and the KME. Most of my knives are folders, but I also have a few 4-4.5" fixed blades. Do you have any thoughts on one vs the other?
The Kme is totally fine to learn on and it’s way easier to get all setup since it includes the stones in the kit.
@@milliepm2p3club Thank you!
I started with the KME. But just recently ordered the hapstone so I can use 6" stones and have more options. The hapstone looks to be built higher quality vs my KME. But I got some scary sharp edges out of my KME for over a year until my stones started wearing out. I had planned on just buying the 4 inch Atoma stones for my KME but last second just ordered the hapstone RS with h hapstone premium diamond stones for it. Just sold my KME today. It's a good system for sure
@@mattdagger1480 Thank you for the info. I ended up with the KME. I think it will work for me, but if I could do the purchase again, I might choose the Hapstone. Do you feel like the Hapstone gets a better grip on the knife blade? What are your thoughts on the magnetic ball connection on the RS guide rod?
I don’t know how you don’t destroy/round your tips when you run that stone way past the tip and accidentally drop stone off past the tip and off the blade. Happened several times in this video.
It takes a bit of work to round a tip off especially when it’s a high grit stone and I can always repoint it.
I took my thumbstud off when I sharpened my 940. And I LOVE Bradfords.
What's up Tom!
Yeah you tube def seems to always work better.
Can't find that purple roosevelt lady

Tom , I was wondering are those stone are in Grit or F rating ? I’m gonna order a set , also I have both center clamps your using the filet clamp it’s made of steel , the other center clamp is aluminum , That third screw behind the 2mm screw is the torque screw , so your supposed to lightly tighten the 2 mm screws then that back screw when tightened increases the clamping force , I’m sure you knew that just sharing
I believe they are rated in FEPA F grit rating. Honestly I just use this clamp as is since I bought it, it’s the fillet clamp so I jacked the screw all the way down to clamp wide blades but I just leave it there and it works well as is on Flat grinds like Spyderco or a flat spot.
@@milliepm2p3club Hey I got the CBN stones there way different than Venev resin bonded stones , I like them that you don’t need soapy water , they have much less feedback , I also have Atoma diamond plates , the 140 and 400 are profiling beasts , The CbNs I noticed give a nice reliable NON AGGRESSIVE grit pattern , they don’t leave deep scratches when you making a mirror and that’s a plus ! I believe there rated in grit and micron the 3/2 micron is the 5000 grit Hapstone CBN and that’s equivalent to F1200 Venev and imo that’s all that’s really needed , Do you mind sharing your sharpening group ? I’m looking for a good one ! THANKS
Great Job bro !! Edge came out nice !
Thanks!
Rich Cox is the definitely the candyman of Spydercos! 😂
So you only need to confirm the angle on one side with the angle cube? If one side is 17 and the other 19, you’d just need to set the one side where you want and use that on both sides? Thanks Tom, love watching the videos.
Depends on the knife, usually check both sides with a sharpie and find the best angle for them. Spyderco are default 17° though from factory usually.
Worked like a charm
Works good if you have that sharpening system, but let's see you do it freehand like a pro. Anyone can geta sharp knife with a macine. What good does the video do if I don' have that system?
I still haven't attempted to shine my tanto inkosi up on my kme. Scared I'm gonna destroy it lol
Beautiful work brother.
Nasty Edge. Sweet blade too.
What knife is that?
🌸 *Promosm*
That’s RG Customs one just stands out over the others… and that’s quite some feat!
Hi Tom What's the spray you use before the Magic Eraser? Thanks in advance for your help and feedback.
Great video as always. Ive got a question ive got a problem with loosing the bite on my knives when i go to put a mirror on it what can i do to prevent that? I use venev diamond or CBN stones and i usually stop at the f400 and i get a nice edge but if i go to the f800 or f1200 my edges get slick. Any suggestions? Thanks
After I'm done with my polish I carefully raise the angle and use the grit I want. I use microfilms on glass. You can also use a low grit diamond paste on Kangaroo leather with very very light pressure. Most soft steels do not like high grit. Your miles may vary, good luck.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm waiting on my tanto inkosi to get here and was stressing about how to sharpen that tip. Very grateful you took the time to make this video.
Sweet, waiting on some laser fade color to come back in stock 🤘🤩
Thanx Tom. Exactly what I was looking for
Was this the new run Bowie? If so I might have a project in my future.
Whats up Tom? I come home every day and hit the stones and listen to you sharpen. Its a good chill vibe man thank you so much!
I had no idea the group had a CZcams channel. Subbed lol
I need some scales for my bowie. Looks good Tom
Excellent work!
Scott lacy contact info for sebenza inlays??
What model spyderco is that?
Very nice job! Great info! Just to be sure, you didn’t use a convex adaptor? And you got rid of the convex edge?
I find that people referring to CRK edges as convex is over blown, I really don’t see much difference from a typical ground edge.
Like Millie said there really isn't a convex edge on crks. I dont understand how anyone can say these knives are convexed because they aren't.
So... 15V Bowie? Thanks Shawn for continuing to answer people's questions. I know it may feel repetitive, but it is appreciated.
Awesome! 🐢🎱🗿🃏
Hi! Do you have video/text comparison of your Tsprof vs Hapstone rs?
I haven’t used the diamond plates for a long time so I did one today and had some carbide tear out on a downward stroke with an 80 grit plate . I ll never go less than 150 again on a folder . It was just some vg 10 on a delica . Vg 10 hasn’t sucked so that’s good
Yeah brothers 👍👏. I would like to say there s a big difference in Ripps GT screw set and the cheap ass screws on Amazon or Etsy. I decided to try a sticker for the slippery civivi aluminum knife . Totally forget the name but it’s a thin slicey 3” edge.
