😮 Admirável maravilhosa..
that was beautiful. i just started with oil pastels today and i am already in love with it.. i was wondering what did you do to prevent the colors from smudging and ruining your drawing when you close the sketchbook and the pages fold together?
Hi 😊💕 I usually put a tracing paper between every page to prevent the colors from smudging.
@@kiccoaartzz thank you 🌻🌷🌹

What is the name of the brand of sketchbook you draw with?
Hi 🥰 It's a brand called Pill notebook.💖
Lovely artwork.
I love watching you work! You are so talented, and all of your practicing has paid off. You are a wonderful artist.
This just made me so happy.🥺 Thank you so much.💖💖💖
What pencil did you use for some details for the eyes please?.
I used Faber Castell color pencils.💖
Thank you, portraits are difficult but you make it seem so easy.
Aww, thank you.🥰💓💓
Hey, can you please help me? Drawning is my hobby, I am completely new to oil pastels and my problem wih them is they are sheer on the paper, I cant layer them and mix like you do on the video. The more I apply to paper the worse the result is, they just dont want to be friends, haha. I watched many tutorials but they put so much focus on the technique and no attention on the paper they use... From my research I came to conclusion that the paper is to put the blame on, and it is recommended to use them on thick paper like for watercolors for the best result. Is it true? If so, then what type of paper did you use in the video? And one more question, how do you preserve the painting? I can see that you draw in the sketchbook, but when I closed the sketchbook my doodles traced on the other sheet of paper :( The reason I picked up the pastels is to learn to be more bold and confident with my strokes and I really dont want to pass on them. Thank you in advance for the help ^^
Hi💖😊 You are right, the paper has a very big impact when it comes to painting with oil pastels. First of all in my opinion painting on a paper with a lot of texture or using a very thick paper is not that great for oil pastels, also your paper should not be too smooth or glossy because you won't be able to layer colors and the colors will lift off from the paper. I usually put a tracing paper between every page of my sketchbook to prevent the colors from mixing. Also I talked about all these problems about the paper in my most recent video, you can check it out for more information.💖
@@kiccoaartzz wow, thank you for the reply, I will definitely check out that video. Really appreciatate it, wish you all the best ^-^
You are so talented. I just love watching everything you put out!❤ P.S Do you seal your pages with a spray when you are done?
Thank you so much🥰💖 No I usually don't, but I put a tracing paper between every page to prevent the colors from mixing in my sketchbook.
❤❤😍
Been trying oil pastels. Fun but having trouble using them. This video helped a lot! And your work is beautiful! 💖
Thank you.💖 I'm glad it was helpful.🥰💖
So Beautiful ❤❤👏👏
Nice ❤
I didn't know oil pastel painting can be so detailed and delicate. Do you think your tip for having a wide range of color options also apply to other dry medium like colored pencils? Many artists advise using a limited palette but I think that is easier to achieve in oil paint, acrylic, watercolor where you can practically mix anything with just 6 colors. However, my attempt to use a small palette with colored pencils are sometimes frustrating, because I think there are only so much colors you can put down onto the paper. Oh, and how opaque is oil pastel? I'm most familiar with watercolor, so it blew my mind when I saw an oil pastel artist drew light over dark.
Hi💖 Thank you for your compliments.😊💝 Well I think it is said that it's better to use a limited palette for color pencils because you might get confused in the beginning and can't control the colors that well, but I guess if you have the skills then it's okay to use any colors, it comepeletly depends on you. Whatever works for you then it's the right path for you. Oil pastels can be opaque or not based on brands and colors, so sometimes you can basicly do whatever you want and experience everything to see which method you like the most.💕
What paper you use for pastel? Or any sketchbook is okay?
Hi😊💖 Actually I don't really care much about painting on a specific type of paper or sketchbook, but I prefer the paper not to be too textured and not too white either. So I think as long as the quality of papers are good, any sketchbook should be fine.💓
hey are u persian? the way you talk is like ours 🥺💕

خیلی عالی عزیزم جالب بود 👌 دفتری که استفاده میکنی چی هست ؟ میشه لطفاً کاغذ و مقوا رو هم معرفی کنی؟
Hi💗 thank youu😊 It's actually a brand called Pill Notebook

I bought my 1st canvas...its small but i am nervous to start it with !😢
Hi🤗 Think of it as a new experience and just do it without overthinking about the result. Good luck! 🥰💖
My Pentel oil pastels wont blend in or smudge using my finger😢
Hi💖 You should try blending with other colors, I usually use white or skin skin tone colors to blend.
Love your work, very inspirational and beautiful. Lovely 😍 ❤
I really like it's a real sign for me cuz I have a set of 48 mungyo oil pastels sitting around in my cabinet and I'm not using them 😂 I should start learning oil pastels as early as possible 😊
This is great! I'm glad you got motivated.💖 You should absolutely try painting with them, they are really good.🥰💖
Hi, I love your artwork! I have a question though. Could you please share which sketchbook you are actually using in the video? I like the color of the paper. I see that your decription has a link to "similar product" and not the actual sketchbook you use. Thanks
Hi💕 Thank you.💖😊 Actually I bought this from a local store, and I searched for it to share the link in yt but unfortunately I couldnt find it anywhere. If I find anything close to this sketchbook and the paper's color, I'll definitely share with you.💗
@@kiccoaartzz thank you! 😃
Just wow
That's perfect. Love this one😍
Super thank you 🤌
Does your sketchbook have Frida on the cover? That is so cool. Did you make that? Also, I love these oil pastels. I am new to the medium and I have Pentel, Cray-Pas, Mont Marte, Paul Rubens Haiya and a set of 72 Mungyos and the Mungyos are the ones that feel the most satisfying for me. I really want to invest in the full set of 120 eventually as they recently updated that set to have some nice muted shades.
Hi😊💓 Yes, it does! It has a picture of Frida on the cover but I didn't make it.😄 You seem to like oil pastels a lot, since you have many of them. The Mungyo ones are really soft and painting with them feels pretty nice. I also like the full set especially the Wooden packaging it looks really beautiful.
This is stunning!🌞🌻🌻🌻
Thank you! 😊💕
Your work is amazing. Love it!
I'm glad you liked it. 💕
Enjoyed your video. Very informative. Can you tell me what brand of oil pastel pencil you used. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you💓 Actually they're not oil pastel pencils, they're Faber Castell color pencils, I just use them to create texture or make the edges softer.😊💖
Beautiful piece ❤ can you please share the reference? And if possible link down some more good references as well 😊
Thank you😊💖 Ofcourse I can! I usually don't stick too much to references and they are more like inspiration for me, but I'll try to add their links in the description and share them with you.💕

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.🥰💕💕
This is amazing
Thank you. 🤗💕
I appreciate your ability to use oil pastels. Comparing to Sennelier, Sennelier is very oily and not always easy to use but they are good to mix some colours. With Mungyo, creamy but not oily as Sennelier, I heard it is possible to superimpose layers at the contrary of Sennelier which merge the colours this case. So many professional artists like to work with Mungyo that I would like to give a try. Your demonstration is one more motivation.
You should absolutely give them a try if you want to buy other oil pastels. They are easy to work with and their quality is so good. You'll probably like them.💖
@@kiccoaartzz Thank you. You strengthens my will 😄. Mungyo are very affordable for me, that's another advantage ! For the moment I am in a serie with extra soft pastels and pastel pencils. I am not well equipped to make videos on my work but I hope some day you could have a glance to it. You got a large advance on me with oil pastels so for them it's challenging !
Hello! I’m currently working on a piece using oil pastels, but I’m struggling with the hair, do you have any tips on that?
Hi💖 Ofcourse! Well, for the hair it's better to avoid painting every detail, instead you can apply a base color and then create highlights and shadows based on your reference. Also using a limited range of colors makes it way more natural. It's actually hard to explain this in a comment but I'll definitly make a video about your question, I hope it helps.💖😊
@@kiccoaartzz Thank you! :)
this is insane wow
This is beautiful!
Очень все выглядит очень классически и чисто...! Даже слишком .🎨❣️❗
wonderful tips
This video inspired me to try to learn to use the Pentel oil pastels I recently abandoned because I thought they were bad quality :') me, being an unlearned beginner, expected all oil pastels to be soft by default -- but apparently there's harder oil pastels too (Pentel being one of them) and they require a different technique!! I thought it's impossible to create smooth-looking colors and blending with such pastels, but the tips you gave in this video set me on a different path of learning ahaha~ Your art is beautiful!! If it's possible to make such art with Pentels, with enough experience and skill, I certainly feel motivated to learn!
Hi! I'm so happy that I could help you.😊💖 I understand exactly what you mean, I was just like that thinking maybe oil pastels are not the best for me, but being consistent and using different techniques is the right way if you're working with any pastels. The pastels you're working with, or any other material, shouldn't stop you from making art. You just have to figure out how to be creative and achieve your goals with whatever you have. I hope you do well with oil pastels, and thank you for your compliments.🤗💕💕
@@kiccoaartzzhello again! Thank you for the kind words! Just wanted to drop in again to say that I'm finishing my first Pentel oil pastel drawing, and the result is better than I thought it could be for a first! Keeping in mind my general inexperience with oil pastels (let alone these harder oil pastels like Pentel) and "skill issues", I kept in mind your advice from this video and it helped me navigate this new medium with more ease and less insecurity as a newbie! Once again, thank you for inspiring me to start this in the first place, but also for helping me start learning to use Pentel 💛 i'm a certified follower of this channel now ahaha~
You're doing great! Continuing to create art is an excellent way to overcome fears and gain more experience. Pentel oil pastels offer many good options, and I will definitely mention them later. I'm honored that you find my videos inspiring and I appreciate your support, It means a lot to me.😊💓✨
