Eugene Fraxby reports … …
Back when the news didn't require a disclaimer stating for entertainment purposes only...lol
Like it was yesterday. Where do you guys get this stuff - great!
Ah i remember " the news " when it informed us of what was actually going on .
1988....there was so much promise for the future. Where did it all go wrong.
14 Tory years of 750000 visas a year
No, its was before that in 1997, Tony Bliar.
So that's: 1) Unions are bad, multinational companies are good 2) US troops deployed to foreign soil to support their drug-money-fuelled far-right terrorists, the Contras, against the left-wing Sandinista government 3) The unelected parasites that are the Royal Family were responsible for killing someone How fun to be stuck in a neverending cycle of the same old shit.
Was it really the Unions fault or is this story merely a reflection of the union busting tactics so prevalent in US corporate misconduct since then that has led to the falls in US union membership from 20% in 1983 to 10% in 2023; widening wealth inequality; scandalous levels of CEO remuneration; and rising child poverty? Just look at the conduct of Amazon or Starbucks in 2024? Exploitation of workers continues in 21st century.
I love the way Michael says "American".
Unions, screwing over poor people so fat cat union bosses can buy a 3rd McMansion and 4th Rolls Royce since they were created 😂
Tell me about it. They're scum.
Stagnant wages due to lack of union power. Countries with strong unions are more equal and stable. Britain is the most unequal country in Europe except Bulgaria. The poorest third of the population of eastern Europe is richer than the poorest third of the UK population. There is a direct link between the most restrictive anti union laws in Europe in Britain and the low standard of living for millions. Thatcher's legacy lives on.
@@eightiesmusic1984 "The poorest third of the population of eastern Europe is richer than the poorest third of the UK population." - utter nonsense
@@markw4613 It is fact.
@@eightiesmusic1984 source?
Completely forgot that King Charles had already killed people before Diana and Dodi.
Superb
Oh those were the days! The BBC before the Wokeflakery
Explain.
@@eightiesmusic1984 bots usually aren't that interactive :D
You mean to say before we had non white presenters ?
@@rcherrycoke7322 I suspect that's exactly what he's programmed to imply. Unless he really is named 'User Bunchofnumbers'. It isn't even subtle, is it.
@@rcherrycoke7322 we had Moira Stewart and she was excellent
That poor woman in the audience…”open your mouth and talk to me!” She was very unsure about it all!
Going for gold music
Except I think even Hans Zimmer passed on doing this theme
It's gas isn't it.
"Powder me down you slut" Haha
superb
Too much music ...get on with it
So, Patrick Stewart goes to a drama camp, and runs into Brian Blessed at age 14...a few decades later they are in I Claudius together! :)
This is awful. Unlistenably bad.
the haughey voice is in point! thanks for reuploading god bless
I think Rambo , erm I mean Ray Burke didn't like this show !
The best showed them for what they are!
Haugheys family lol
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
Where is that satire today? This was RTE when they were brave.
Still smart and so funny. Thank you for sharing.
What a brilliant show. Thank you for this.
This one is a cracker on Haughey
any more episodes?
A Bona Fide Classic
Redemption is a great episode of Blake's 7.
This is nuts. Feckin genius
Space Major Provine is still one of my favorite Science Fiction villans of all time!
If only they'd invested in upgrading the HR department's personnel records from punch-cards and photos, rather than blowing it all on Solium technology...he might still be with us today.
Used to love this when I was a student. Still makes me laugh. Thanks for posting!
National treasure.
Poor Mr. Kemp
This is brilliant, More ,more more

Thanks twoscotch 👍
I've spoken to Brian on the phone for work and he was funny and a complete gent..love the man 😃
Do you have any more Nexus? My partner was a contestant and I'd love to see that episode.
Sorry...no don't have any more of it...this was edited from a clipshow rather than the programme itself. The only other bit of it on YT is a trailer czcams.com/video/XcPtJL2LbUU/video.html
@@twoscotcheggs thank you!
Piss poor interviewer.. Wendy way too smart as usual.
Indeed. I wouldn't have expected anything less from RTE on a Sunday morning. I seem to remember her getting a less easy ride in Hot Press at the time...though can only find the cover online and not the article itself
Didn't really really matter if it was RTE or Hot Press or any of 'em.. she always had their measure.
Worked in Theatre many years ago and Brian was Captain Hook in the Christmas Panto. We had a great Christmas party where everyone involved in the show was invited. We had some special awards. Brian won the Modesty Award. During his acceptance speech he commented on the extra curricula activities many in the production were getting up to. The exact words were "Ive never known so much F*&%ing Sh@gging in all my life'. The man is a star, a real gent and a bloody good laugh!
