But a series of invasions from the Indo-Europeans over time brought a patriarchal agenda we see manifested in the laws of the Bible. The misogyny of demonizing women in the story of Eve and Adam, or control over wome...

The recent decision in Louisiana (and other places) to place the Ten Commandments in public places like schools is absolutely wrong. Trying to force your Christianity on other people is Christian Nationalism (and not Jesus-based). But let's actually take a look at what the Ten Commandments are about and encourage the people who are so obsessed with them to actually follow them.

What a BRILLIANT share and analysis. I take issue with "Jesus-ness" and how some have used it to paralyse self-efficacy and dismantle the KINGDOM WITHIN! The result is a spiritual blindness of "Biblical" proportions! As you say, when we ontologise "Jesus" and separate "Jesus-ness" from the doable, guiding WISDOM that He shared, then we really are exporting our POWER to hierarchies that were erected over 2,000 years ago. Personally, I am still optimistic that we can "rebuild the kingdom" by striving to stay in HARMONY. Firstly, we must believe that we are created PERFECT! Every being on this planet is Okay as they are (TUKO SAWA) and we should focus on living in joyful cooperation with others. How difficult is that? Other beings are already doing that! They all show up and do what they are supposed to do in our diverse web of life. ALAS it is us humans and our divisive stories that are trashing this "Garden of Eden." ------WE NEED TO BALANCE-BODY-MIND-SOUL---ASAP!!! Here is a Mary Magdalene quote that King Charles III shares in the HARMONY BOOK : “Attachment to matter gives rise to passion against Nature. Thus trouble arises in the whole body; this is why I tell you: be in harmony.” The Gospel of Mary Magdalene (HARMONY: A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT OUR WORLD. (2010;31)

DID, CPTSD, BPD, anxiety, severe chronic depression here. The people of the church have treated me horribly. You don't have enough faith, you are full of demons and on and on. When I came out they really disappeared. I have had deliverance, soaking prayer and it has caused me to hate myself even more. It was during a sound bath in February when I finally realized that God loves me. 40 years in the church and I didn't even know God loved me. In The Chosen Jesus deals with Mary Magdalene in such a loving, compassionate way. It always makes me cry when I see it. His people have no clue, especially the evangelical church. I am a Christian. There is nothing wrong with yoga. There are some types of meditations Christians should not do. The Bible encourages reflection, reflection on beautiful things, positivity, God etc etc. But when meditation is meditation for the sake of meditation, the feeling of meditation, empting your mind etc etc. Let the atheist do it.

Christians can meditate as meditation is one way to calm a very anxious mind. Any form of healing, I believe, ultimately comes from God. If it doesn't work for you, don't do it. Meditation is universal and is found in every religious tradition, even Christianity.

But If you are a Bible student, you know the meditation in the scripture is ALWAYS, reflection, contemplation, gratitude, etc etc etc. The greatest dangers to Christianity come from ( not always) from humanism. I don't write this in anger or judgement. It is how I see these things, I may be wrong. I live in Nepal. My neighbors are mostly Hindus and, in practice, most of them do worship idols. They have to go ring the bells, put the red/yellow tika on the statue, the flowers and the milk on the Shivalingam (Shiva's Phallus) everyday, because if they don't, they will not prosper. Most of them lie, cheat and are full of jealousy, but they don't think that it is bad. I have lived 9 years there, I know. I don't say that Christians don't do those things, because they obviously do, but at least, the core idea is to live as Christ did, even if it impossible to achieve for us. Another point, Christ is not only an ascended Master, that would reduce Him to a man. He is God in the flesh. That makes His sacrifice on the cross and Resurrection even more relevant. Were He only a man, it wouldn't make any sense. As for Yoga, Union with God, as long as it helps someone in the walk with Christ, there is no problem with it. With love

We will always find people of other faiths who show the worst aspect of them. There are Christians who are horrible humans, as you concede. I never judge a faith by its worst members but by the core of the original teachings. What I read about Hinduism through Yoga has some lovely teachings for nonviolence and peace and seeking unity with God. As for Jesus, it is the Hindu believe that he is an enlightened being, which I believe is sweet. The Christian perspective of Jesus being a unique Son of God or not is not relevant to the beauty I can see in other faith traditions.

So Christians who in humility and knowing the limitations of their own wisdom continue to embrace the teachings of Christ and the Apostles are “arrogant”, while you are “empathetic” and “compassionate”. Got it. The Greek religions at the time of Christ taught a version of reincarnation that was rejected by Apostolic Christianity on the basis of the Creator’s Self Revelation to humanity in Jesus Christ, in Whose image we are said to be created. He died and was resurrected presenting Himself alive after His crucifixion to many witnesses, recognizably the same Person/individual who was crucified and buried, but without mortality and without limitations of His mortal body prior to His death. He taught all humans would be resurrected like Him. It seems to me you are presenting a lot of straw man arguments and false dichotomies in your reasoning here. I have seen past life “memories” explained in ways that are quite logical, deny reincarnation, but also do not stoop to modern materialism. There is a spiritual depth to ancient Christian tradition you do not seem to have been exposed to (which would make sense if you are an ECLA pastor). You might read St. Gregory of Nyssa. He is considered the most profound theologian of his era and was dubbed “Father to the Fathers” at the Seventh Ecumenical Council of the first millennium “one, holy, catholic & Apostolic Church” of the early Creed for his defense and articulation of Trinitarian orthodoxy. He taught souls in Heaven continue to develop for Eternity because God is infinite, and our telos (purpose) is to be united in love with Him. “From glory to glory” extends into Eternity, so fetuses who die do not remain fetuses, etc. according to patristic and Eastern Orthodox Christian tradition. I believe your vision of the God revealed in Jesus Christ is too small. Reincarnation is understood by lower caste Hindus to be a pretty depressing sentence of doom-a grinding wheel of karmic destiny with little real hope of escape. Only relatively affluent Westerners (many if not most coming from a background in Western Christian traditions with a very Augustinian, juridical and often reductionist and transactional view of our salvation in Christ) understand it as hopeful or compassionate, and that is telling to me.

I have been hanging out in the Evangelical church for the past 40 years. I have never understood how a Creator could make a soul and then basically force it into relationship through fear. You will go to hell if you don't have relationship with Jesus Christ. I come from a very abusive background. I have never felt loved by humans, let alone a God. In February I started seeing a massage person. I have been in therapy for 30 years and the trauma wasn't leaving. I was fed up after 30 years of talk therapy, deliverance, prayer and very little change. I went for energy work, I am desperate to function in life. She uses spinal flow, essential oils, sound therapy to make a change in the body. Something changed in me, I was lying on that table and realized that God loves me just the way I am. I was created to be who I am, I have purpose. Fast forward a few weeks. Oh no reincarnation is true, it actually makes sense. Doesn't reincarnation remove the need for a savior? It does, doesn't it? I have had it with fear, shame, guilt and rejection. I received all of that in the church. I have never fit in. If I still lived in Bloomington I would hang out with you. Went to chiropractic school there, years ago. 😊

THANK YOU for bringing this to the fore front! When I started studying the formation of the early church from non-Christian bias … I found out that the Empress Theodora was a status climber and called a counsel of 165 bishops in mid 500s AD. Many Bishops did not attend in protest. They used the developing ideas of Christianity to weld political and personal power over the masses. They changed it to suit their personal agendas !! So do you know what Theodora asked those 165 bishops to do??? She had no where else to ascend except to become a god herself like the Egyptian pharaohs!! SHE WANTED TO BECOME IMMORTAL!!! But reincarnation didn’t fit in with that plan. So she COMMANDED the bishops to find all the passages in the Bible that talked about reincarnation…and to REMOVE THEM so she could proclaim herself to be an eternal GODESS!! YES- it’s a lie that u live only one life and then face “judgement”!! It’s the age of NDEs to reveal what really happens when we die!! These stories would not be able to be circulated en mass without CPR and the event of the internet. Some major sects of Judaism believed in reincarnation: see John 1:21 There are remnants still in the new test. that allude to reincarnation that they left in. Also….”hell” as a punishment was not mentioned in the Old Testament!! However, it was emphasized in the New Testament to CONTROL THE MASSES with fear of not following the “rules” . The rules kept everyone in fear of God’s Wrath and checking up on one’s neighbor to keep them following the rules. Not to mention self-shaming: I’m nothing but a wretched sinner!! So who am I??? I was a traditional Christian for 40 years. I even married a pastor. I was also mesmerized by NDEs. They met a Loving God who DID NOT JUDGE THEM ever!! My personal spiritual events matched up with NDEs -not an angry, jealous, vengeful God. Those are human traits projected on their “human” god. There is oooohh sooo much more beyond the God depicted in the BIBLE !! It’s time to move forward into a new dispensation. NDE accounts are all over CZcams and everywhere else. Check them out. No…they are NOT Satan in disguise. Your religious affiliation…or lack thereof…does not matter to the One that loves you!!

Reincarnation is definitely not true. Christ said when you die your soul and spirit goes to 1 of 2 places: Heaven or Hell. Scripture is very clear on this. over 500 people saw Christ come back to life - TRUST what he did and says. Eternal life means you live with him when you die. You get this by trusting that his death will result in forgiveness of your sins.

I didn't actually mention this, but some early Christians did believe in reincarnation. And when Jesus asks who people say he is and some say "Elijah", that feels like there was some level of understanding about reincarnation. Possibly. The truth is, the Bible doesn't spend as much time in the afterlife as we think it does, but that's okay. And there is far more to life than is what is in the Bible. That's what I have come to understand.

Interesting to hear how you went through the whole process, and your rationale for going the self-publishing route rather than trying the traditional publishing route. Whilst my taste is more for mystery and dark-fantasy, I hope you do well with your current and future books.

Really well explained! I feel like you spoke well and able to demystify the tarot for Christians. It’s only a tool for self understanding, like looking at an artwork and seeing how it makes you feel. Good video and topic!

I really enjoyed you sharing this. I grew up in an extremely conservative religious environment and life never made sense while that was my life. I set that side of my life apart while I went into a life of escapism. But escapism only lasts so long. By appreciating what I had learnt as a child and appreciating that was a distortion based on their consciousness level, I have been able to move forward eith greater clarity and implement what religion has taught me. While at the same time refusing to ascribe to a certain dogma or religion. Standards to live by are great, but to close off from evolving is a type of death within living in this reality.

So, you claim yourself as spiritual seeker right? Im not sure of what you re seeking for. But if eventually you found out that the truth contradict of what you believe as lutheran pastor. What are you gonna do?

@@tarno_bejo_ honestly, we need to practice looking inside and cultivating our own intuition on these things. What is written can contain truth, but it will never contain the fullness of what is. We have looked externally for truth for a long time and that's a good start, but at the end of the day, we need to look within.

Siri one of the first thing a spiritual seeker starts to do is drop beliefs that don't serve. So by now you must realize that your beliefs are the issue for you, because you don't have peace even though you have been a seeker. That indicates you are stuck. It is going to take great courage to look inside and start shedding the insanity that is driving your life. Your talk is a million miles away from spirituality. However you have courage and a sense of need to develop self love. This is the area of life where it all happens not outside. So stop this outside talk as a start point. Love flows to you continually not from a source outside of you but from the very source that resides in you. There is nothing to learn but much to unlearn. The spiritual experience is a single endeavor not a group thing. Groups create beliefs which we don't need. Love to you Siri move out of this mind set, listen to your words and say i will not talk like this again.

Hello, thanks for watching. One of the things I notice is when people speak vulnerably about their journey, other people can jump in and judge them. I am trying to be honest about thoughts we often are not conscious of. By highlighting what is often unconscious, I hope to help people become aware of their thoughts. If you mistake that for lack of self love, that is unfortunate. Peace to you.
