If you never had the pleasure of seeing Broadcast on tour, particularly in their early years with keyboardist Roj Stevens and guitarist Tim Felton, then this is for you. Actually, this is for everyone. It's a dark and saddening time for fans of the band since the recent and sudden passing of singer/multi-instrumentalist Trish Keenan. But I can't think of a better way to celebrate her life than to spread the group's music around to as many people as possible. Broadcast's Black Session from Paris, France -- May 4th, 2000 is a perfect representation of their trademark electronic art-pop, Trish's amazing voice and the band's ability to transform experimental recordings into beautiful live performances.
This set features the original lineup that toured in support of their spectacular debut album, The Noise Made By People. It also includes all of those quirky electronic segues and dissonance between tracks, along with stellar renditions of early singles, albums cuts and B-sides like "Message From Home", "Where Youth and Laughter Go", "Echo's Answer" and more.

Can't thank you enough for this upload. Warms my heart.
this is special, thanks for sharing
Sorcery and Divination. Such sounds provoking joy and melancholy!
Hearing this for the first time and there are no words…
Fuck. Amazing band. Trish gone too soon.
best live recording of all time. I really hope that one day it will officially release it on vinyl. this version of “unchanging window + chord simple” breaks my soul. amazing, beautiful, raw, powerful.
Thank you for the vid, I appreciate it. 🙏 Broadcast is incredible band, I’ll never forget this band and Trish Keenan.
Thank God they managed to get a very decent back catalogue
le présentateur français aurait bien fait de ne rien dire...
I've listened to this so many, many times, the drummer really lifts into the stratosphere
drumming is crazy
What a beautiful and superb set. Thank you for this upload!! Can't believe I'm only finding this now
This version of "Echo's Answer" is really incredible
Rip TK - ❤️❤️
I love broadcast so much
thanks for this ♥♥♥
I typed in "May 4th, 2000" in the CZcams Search Bar, and sorted the results by "View Count", and this was the top video, with 112,323 views as of 05/04/2022 at 12:35 A.M. Eastern Time(U.S. & Canada).
those opening chords for look outside in this version do something to my chest everytime the keys are played in that tone. what exactly is it that music tones do to the body, why does it feel like a flashing? or pulsing i guess, not like a heartbeat pulsating.
19:09 the gong sound then 19:13 is the sound i'm talking about. that ringing i guess maybe it's not the keys.
Great session, RIP Trish Keenan
I was Lucky, to see all of this live in 2005, now I can die in peace. And will most probably do so
Trish, ô Trish
👀Brilhante! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
👀
I am grateful that the music of Trish & James is surviving in 2022 !
Long was this year, long was last year, long was every year. But NO. Every year is so short. Hardly it started, it is already over. I love BROADCAST & Thank you for uploading this Music !
This is lovely... We miss you, Trish.
💙
Best live performance all time
It is! People realize, finally.
I discovered broadcast in 2000 when I was working in uk, the sound made by the people.... Amazing ! And I forgot....but with youtube and you !! I found that live masterpiece and I will die with ! Thx thx a lot and thx France Inter (I m french !)
Broadcast is, imho, one of the most important bands of the twenty-first century. The death of Trish Keenan is an irreparable disaster for the music of our time. I still mourn her. In addition to the albums, we are left with extraordinary recordings such as this "Black Session". Thank you France Inter for these fifty minutes of intense emotion!
A soundtrack for the sixties' film never existed
They're a good bunch.
"My room is to small for parties, too spacious when you´re lonely"...
Love them. Reminds me of White Noise “An Electric storm” and The United States of America’s 1968 album
They liked both of those LP's, so it's no wonder. :-)
If they don't please next, i won't
Echoes answer is treasure for my ears and brain
wow
Wild and beautiful set. Thank you for sharing.
pls someone published it on streaming services, spread the genius legacy
I would sell my soul to have this is a live LP
No joke
this is legitimately the best live performance i’ve ever seen, come on let’s go in particular is astounding (wish it was longer though..)
RIP xx
I just found out last night that Trish the singer passed away way back in 2011... I wasn't a super huge fan but still a solid fan--I never kept up with what they had done in more recent times. Then this amazing live session from France pops up in my video feed... Wow just wow this performance is otherworldly and touching...
I wonder if the band members know who much their music still appreciated.
I had this session stored on a hard drive that crashed on me, does anyone have good quality versions of it willing to share?!
Any luck? Looking as well.
Any chance to find this amazing concert bootleg in WAV/FLAC/hi-res MP3? The MORONS of Discogs have blocked the selling of this. Thanks!!
Any luck? I'd really love this in full quality.
@@OversizedBurrito Haven't found it yet either
jesus, this is phenomenal.
Superb. Trish's vocals are incredible throughout as is the bands playing. Fantastic recording.
Thanks for Uploading - Really strong set. For some reason, I was not expecting them to be have been so good live :)
The version of Echo's Answer here is really lovely and special.
one of our favourite band !
I'd love to download the audio from this session. Anyone know of a good source?
Any luck? Looking as well.
