2017 Julie Marshall
Julie Marshall, a Canadian spokesperson for the UN agency called the World Food Programme (WFP) spoke to Burnaby North students about the progress of her organization on addressing hunger via videoconference.
She provides an overview of the current, grim situation in the world in which conflict and climate change have resulted in the declaration of famine in a growing number of countries; the ability of nations to respond quickly to the crises is hindered by funding availability and access to affected areas.
WFP provides humanitarian aid to victims of conflict and natural disasters all over the world. WFP is funded only by donations from nations and individuals.

Not going along with the crowd...He was unfortunate to have died at the relatively young age of 62. This video is part of his legacy that we should listen to and learn from.
