Using the argument “you don’t know for sure that napoleon fought at the battle of waterloo and that there was a nazi holocaust” doesn’t work. Cliffe’s point is that we still consider it to be historically accurate, but it doesn’t work for the bible. We have proof beyond reasonable doubt that millions of Jews were systematically killed in death camps, but we don’t have proof beyond reasonable doubt that Jesus did the things that the bible states he did, for example, rise from the dead. Sure, we can be almost certain that Jesus did exist but that doesn’t directly mean that all of the bible is true.

Hey, can someone explain why eye witness reportage is reliable? Because in law it isn’t good enough, it is never used as sole evidence for something. It is used as a complimentary to strengthen the value of existing evidence. The only “proof” that points to the existing of a god is hearsay and potential eye witnesses. In law, for example, when the credibility of a witness is decided you considered what there is to gain for said witness to be both lying or telling the truth. Same goes with the credibility of the eye witnesses used as proof of the credibility of the bible. I think Cliffe knows these things and since he is a very skilled talker he also knows how to get around them.

I have a question and hope someone in this comment section can answer it. In the Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John, each of them talks about Jesus rising from the dead and the reaction of the women who found him. In three out of the four, it states that the women ran out and told everyone while the other states that they were so scared to the point they would not tell anyone. That was just an inconsistency I noticed, I am a follower of Christ and just would like a better understanding. I'm 13 by the way and I know there's still a lot to learn.

I love listening to this. In reference to abortion. I just saw recently where scientists showed when an egg and sperm meet and as soon as they’re one, there is a light that glows as soon as conception begins. I hope you look into it for proof. That alone, hopefully, will change the minds of the skeptics😊
