I’m playing through this game for the first time in 2024 so I don’t have the rose colored glasses required to scoff at any criticism of this game. But if I have to do THIS in order to get an item EVERYONE says is necessary to beat the main story……your game is barely playable

Im currently playing an Eu version of FFx-2 on my Phone(AetherSX2) And i do not have monsters "zoo" ... Tournaments. On my retail version for PS2 still i do not have any of that....and i just noticed i had 700hours on my one and only playthrough.....

After 22 years off and on of trying to win in this minigame, I got a time of 2.8 seconds after a no bird perfect run. I was literally off by 1 balloon thanks to the hitboxes on them being the size of a planck length. I give up on doing this on consoles and will just cheat engine the sun sigil on pc. 22 years and this is the one single thing I have never ever been able to complete in any video game that I've ever played.

Why not just do thre cock racing without this stupid balloon and cock dodging bird...

After 6 years i played this game again...on my idk 15th attempt or so i got so insanely lucky on the 2nd and last part but grabbed only 1 balloon on the first part....finished in 0:36:4 and got 12 balloons and no hit...so sad - i really thought this is the run

Hot take, i dont think there is anything wrong with vaan and penelo. If anything, there is nothing wrong with the player not being the main hero to save everything. It's ok to be just an observer or part, with an empty back story so the player can make one for their character. Why so should we always be the hero of prophecy that does everything? What's wrong with the world running at its own natural pace and us just being the plain jane? This game would be an amazing open world, where we just learn about the lore and world of ivalice and do everything at our own pace.

This is up there with the stupid skip rope of final fantasy 9. If I find out it was the same guy.. 👊🏻

I legitimately completed this once on my first ever playthrough on ps2 but after a ton of frustrating retries. I could never do it again on my second playthrough tho and it easily prevented me from replaying the entire game even though I love the game overall, just had to settle with my saves from my first playthrough.
