    • @alexsystems2001
      @alexsystems2001 Před 3 hodinami

      @@Shirley5555 yes it is the 48 x 36 so far it’s holding up really well, I don’t have anything metal or ceramic in the shower for example I don’t have a metal or ceramic soap dish to accidentally drop or chip it, so the white coating is still in really nice shape, I also use the Kohler cleaning solution and it keeps it really clean. It even does a decent job of keeping the little gritty pads you stand on really clean. I squeegee and dry/wipe my whole shower down when I’m done using it so it tends to stay fairly clean to begin with, I only clean it with the cleaner a few times a year and the finish is still as brilliant as when I bought it. I have another video showing the finished product. I also don’t like to use a lot of cleaners on the marble tile I used which is why I like to dry it after each use. I love how it turned out. I hope that’s the answers you were looking for.

    Having bought dozens of watches from Japan, and having been there multiple times, I can say that the Japanese way of doing things is very rigid. On the bright side, it makes for a very efficient, predictable place to go about your day. On the downside, logic and customer service often take a backseat to what "the manual" says to do in a situation. I have had to point both of these aspects out multiple times. Once pointed out, they sometimes understand. Examples: I've bought nearly 20 watches from a particular dealer in Tokyo (I live in Canada). On one transaction, I was buying 5 watches (many multiple thousands of dollars each watch, so not a small sale for them). They told me they would have to create 2 shipments at a cost of several hundred dollars EACH shipment. When I inquired why I would be out several hundred dollars, they told me they did not have a large enough box. I pointed out that boxes come in a range of sizes and just because they did not currently have one in their possession, did not preclude the possibility of finding one. There was also the option of taping 2 small boxes together. Nevermind that FedEx will consider multiple boxes as one shipment anyway. I had to problem solve it for them. It just wouldn't have happened any other way. I don't think it was a case of what we find in the West, where the staff are just too lazy. I think you genuinely short-circuit things when you go off-script. Same company, different purchase. I was buying a watch that had a strap that fell under the stupid CITES regulations. Given that it was a $500 OEM strap, that I was not getting a price reduction for not receiving, I asked them to simply hold it for me until I was back in Tokyo later in the year. You would think I had asked the guy if I could take his daughter on a romantic holiday or something. No way was it possible. Many emails later, and my pointing out the 6-figures of business they'd received from me, and a "one time exception" was made. So yeah, I imagine that it just never entered GS's mind to be more customer-centric.

    I have owned several rolexes, a Breitling, a Hublot and a few others over the years. I currently have my collection pruned down to one Rolex gold/steel sub with blue dial I have had for about 10 years. I also have 3 pateks, a ulysses nardin white gold diver and a stainless audemar royal oak offshore. I thought I was done with new watches but recently purchased a grand seiko chronograph 253. I had been intrigued by the spring drive since I first learned about it. Obviously, I own some very nice watches. Overall, the Pateks are probably the nicest watches I have ever owned. However, this New Grand Seiko has surprised me with what a cool watch it is. As far as time keeping, after wearing it for close to a month, it was off by just a few seconds. I am used to wearing a larger watch since I have owned a number of sports watches, divers and chronographs so I found the watch very comfortable-the titanium is so light, I forget I have it on. It also is a very nice looking watch. The watch isn’t cheap but is definitely cheaper than my other watches and I find I am wearing it more than the others by far. I have to say that I zero regrets buying the GS-it has been a welcome addition to my collection

But the codes did indicate the emissions system; possible system leak(s) but my technician guy said the culprit is one or both catalytic converters. This dude services all the luxury vehicles in La Paz and Los Cabos so he's apparently "the man" to see about this kinda stuff so I trust his opnion. But what do I know? He says to ignore it. There's no smog checks in Mexico so it doesn't matter. But I don't want to ignore it. I'd rather have my traction control and ABS. But I also don't want to spend $1,500+ if I can avoid it. The truck has 325,000+ miles on it now -- and doesn't burn a single drop of oil ever! Thing is absolutely perfect, mechanically speaking. From drivetrain to suspension anyway. Interior is great. Everything works except the CD changer. The A/C has gotten weak and I replaced the blower when it went out but it still doesn't blow as hard as it used to, on the "High" setting...but it is cold. Not sure what is causing that but... It passed smog in L.A. last January so this is a recent development.

Hint; when your cam phasers start to chatter after idling down on a cold start and they just more chattery with mileage, change the oil every 5K. Thanks, yeah on the shorter oil changes. When I bought the car, if it sat for a couple days I’d hear a clattering when starting it. I was under the impression it was timing chain slap waiting for the tensioners to tighten up. I heard there were issues with this engine that the tensioners would get gummed up with poor quality oil long oil change intervals. Either way, 5,000 miles oil change intervals and using good oil cleared that up. Now when I’ve gone out of town for a month and came back, no clatter at all when starting. Enjoy your car! Mine is almost at 190,000 miles now. I recently had to replace the rear subwoofer and One of these days I’m going to have to deal with the valley pan gasket. I lose about a quart of coolant each year. I recently had the rear air struts replaced too, it’s not the airbag that goes bad it’s the shock inside of it. Those get a little spendy too.

    The layout is exactly what I was planning. What is the finished width of the final space including the shower divider and tub?

    • @alexsystems2001
      @alexsystems2001 Před 2 měsíci

      I don’t quite know off the top of my head but if I remember to measure it out I’ll let you know. The little divider wall I made wider because there would have been a floor joist in the way of the shower and I certainly didn’t want to have to deal with floor joists so I had to move the shower into the closet further to avoid joists which increased the gap. If you don’t use your tub much you could probably also get away with a 5ft or a 5.5ft tub I went with a 6ft tub because with the 5ft tub and the shower pan I was already having to move the closet wall so what’s 1 foot in the big picture of things? Basically the dimensions you would need could vary depending on floor joist locations and what type and size of a tub you pick. You could probably even get away with a smaller or more custom fit of the tub if you went with a tub without the skirt, I just didn’t feel confident in my tiling ability to do all of that. Most of my decisions on the project were the easiest decisions to make it as simple for an amateur to figure out and less to screw up.

    Here's my take on the 300M vs. Sub debate. - It's a simple truth for anyone in a similar spot: if what you really want is a Rolex, nothing else is going to scratch that itch. The Omega Seamaster 300M is a star in its own right, but if your heart's set on the Sub, that's the one you should hold out for. And that brings us to the big question, like deciding between paper or plastic at the checkout. Do you go for the Omega 300M that's within reach, or hold out for the Rolex Sub? For me, I learned it's worth waiting for what you really want. Otherwise, you end up with a placeholder, and who wants that? - because when you finally get that Sub, you’ll know: It wasn’t just about finding a watch, it was about finding the watch. In the meantime,

Both brands make fantastic watches, but there's a reason why Rolex is often considered the King. And don't get me started on the resale value; Grand Seikos don't hold up quite like Rolex-they tend to drop like lead balloons.

    I got P0155 code but the check engine and vsc lights came up after fueling at the stn when I got the car last week. Will this solve the issue mate?

    I've purchased 5 Grand Seikos and had nothing but great experiences with them. That a GS could be *this* poorly constructed is baffling to me. If I were in your shoes, this would be an instant return.

    I have a 07 sequoia 4.7 limited had those lights on also, so changed the mass air flow, the fuel purge valve, pcv, injectors, coils, spark plugs, carbon box, and new 02 censors, and yes the gas cap, still the lights are on !!!!!!!!

      I don’t mean any of this as rude, but did you read your codes? I showed in my video what codes I had, I showed the diagnostic process. The codes should get you pretty close to whatever your problem is. These lights will come on even if there is a transmission problem, a catalytic converter failure, an oxygen sensor issue etc. If you didn’t have a misfire code, why would you change the coils? If you didn’t have a lean/rich on a certain bank of oxygen sensors, why would you change the oxygen sensors? Again, this isn’t meant as rude but after all the time and expense you put into changing all those parts, if you don’t have a code associated with those parts, you are hurting your own wallet. Start on the right track, and read the codes to determine your problem, those lights come on because something is out of spec and the computer sensed it and stored a code regarding the issue.

      Not at all brother, so yes she is running lean also so that's why all those changes which yeep you guessed it didn't do a dam thing either. But I do have the Vsc and trac lights on also with engine light !! Not at all rude brother say it how it is, I prefer that. Code is P0420 and P0430 all state catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 2

      @@matjenkins9025 oh darn, usually on a scan tool you can see the live output reading of the oxygen sensor in a graph. If you are getting movements or readings, it’s a high likelihood that would usually point me to the cat being bad. I don’t know about your specific situation with your car but there is a good possibility that’s the issue. Usually you have upstream and downstream oxygen sensors, one before the cat and one after the cat checking the functionality of the cat to make sure it is doing its job. Also usually on a V8 they have bank 1 and bank 2. One bank is one side of the V8 and the other bank is the other side so if it’s saying bank 2 and not bank 1 then it’s pointing to the cat on the bank 2 side of your engine. I hope that helps get you closer but I wouldn’t want to change another part it sounds like everything is working up until the cat on bank 2

    Interesting, congratulations on getting that beast sorted out - A lexus over a camry.... come on! what is the mileage on the LS460? I have looked into a LS460 but ended up with a Jaguar - I think I fancy a LC500 perhaps in the future

    I have a fully loaded and I mean fully loaded 2010 LS460. These cars are the most ridiculous, expensive money pits that Lexus has ever produced. Sticky dash, engine mounts, air suspension, trunk latch actuator and the list goes on and on. My Lexus looks extremely nice but I sent it to the grave (offsite garage) where it will sit.the cost isn’t worth it.

    Bro if you love the car then its worth it in my opinion.. dont let anyone tell you different, plus some ppl dont have the money to even get an oil change so they hate and criticize those that can .. ignore them

    Sell both of those piece of shhh and buy the zenith chronomaster sport :) YW

    • @alexsystems2001
      @alexsystems2001 Před 5 měsíci

      Honestly, I thought about the zenith chronomaster but I repair equipment for a living and so I was worried about the unprotected ceramic bezel, I’ve already broken the pip off my submariner by smacking it on unforgiving surfaces but I think I haven’t chipped the ceramic because on the sub it has that small trim of steel around the bezel, those ceramic bezels are crippling expensive, fortunately the pip was under $200 to be installed by Rolex. I also considered the chromomaster but the bracelet didn’t have the on the fly adjustability. In a lot of environments it’s quite hot and my wrists swell a little bit and if the watch gets too tight I like that I can just make my sub a little bigger and put it back on, I’d be worried with a chronomaster that it would get tight and I’d take it off, set it somewhere and lose it, or worse drop it from a scaffold or something. They are beautiful watches, but I love my submariner. The AD took the Seiko back and when I was in there I held a chronomaster and checked it out but I decided to just hang on to my money before buy another watch.
