Replacing metal filling (amalgam) with ceramic onlay: conservative, adhesive dentistry
This tooth (#19) had a metal filling and a peripheral rim fx line evident. The tooth was asymptomatic and pulp vital. As you'll see the fracture ran all the way through the tooth--an emergency just waiting to happen.
Typically "large fillings grow up to be crowns" or that's what we've been told. I try to crown the tooth as a last resort and we definitely want to avoid a tooth splitting or needing a root canal.
For this case we used a ceramic or e.max onlay to restore the tooth, bond it together, and hopefully prevent the tooth from catastrophic failure. Inlays and Onlays are more conservative than crowns--which means they require less tooth structure removal. And if good adhesive protocols are followed, great bonding and long term success can be expected. A crown can always be done on the tooth later if needed, but hopefully it will never need a crown since restored in a Biomimetic approach. Over the pulp Ribbond was used with the Biobase. The final restoration was cemented with Clearfil APX warm composite technique.

Dental Cleanings-How often should you go?
only concern i have leaving the toothpaste in the mouth especially at night time is, paste may contain sugar as it tasts sweet and thn the bacteria are going to have a feast all night. In the day time, it may not be as much of an issue, did you have any comment on this?
Nice video❤ I also recommend you all to #dremovon for bad breath 😷 treatment..🙌🙌🙌
Getting this done next month, looks way better and nicer than a scale and Polish.
How'd it go?!
@@oxleydentistry Not had it yet, it's on the 9th, I'd imagine it'll go pretty well though! my dentist is pretty good.
I have shorter bottom teeth and I was wondering if there is a technique for brushing so I’m not too low or hard on the gum line?
you know a good spinbrush or electric toothbrush with a smaller head angled the right way might be the right fit for you. it is OK and we actually encourage you to brush your gums some. but with a soft bristled brush and good technique of course. thanks for your questions.
how to hold a toothbrush😢
What brand is that toothbursh? looks very soft !
Hi, this is an extra soft bristled brush from Colgate.
IS THIS COVERED BY INSURANCE?
In the Netherlands it’s covered by insurance but idk where you live
Yes, this cleaning system can be used for regular healthy cleanings and periodontal treatments and are coded to insurance accordingly!
After looking at her I am like I want to marry a dentist 😂

Super penti chala bagundi anna
The proper way to use a manual toothbrush is.... on your teeth! So not on your armpits, or cock, or arsehole....
I can never leave the toothpaste in my mouth after brushing 🗿 i just cant
Swallowing small amounts of the toothpaste and over time slowly poisoning yourself. Sounds good.
Me neither. Nasty.
Why not use a fluoride rinse after you rinse with water?
they make toothpastes without fluoride or natural ones if you have concerns over swallowing the toothpaste. actually, you can brush plaque away with the right brush, technique and water alone. Nice comments all around
I like to use alot
Leaving toothpaste on your teeth after brushing without rinsing afterwards seems like leaving the soap on dishes without rinsing. The rinsing removes the feed debris. Perhaps, I am missing something. Probably best, if you want the toothpaste to remain on your teeth, to rub some toothpaste on them after first rising after brushing, no?
I think same like you. His method is to let the toothpaste protect your teeth. suggest to leave it on your mouth for 5-15 mins then rinse with water.
He tells you to "spit out the excess" once you're done brushing. So once you've finished brushing, just spit thoroughly as you normally would, and if there's a slight "film" left behind on your teeth from the toothpaste, that's what is ideal - rinsing your mouth thoroughly with water immediately after your two minutes of brushing is kinda like washing your hair with shampoo for two minutes and then rinsing it immediately. Letting it set for longer in both instances allows the liquid (be it the toothpaste, or the shampoo lol) to set in and really do it's thing.
There's no problem with food debris left in your mouth. Important is just that you mechanically removed the plug.
x 😊😊😊😢😢😢😮😅😊 .😊😊

Hello
What's the blue material ?
@@princenoman6094 it is disclosing solution that shows where biofilm/plaque has developed. it identifies areas that arent being cleaned well enough and cleaned off during the process
Does it remove calculus?
The Airflow will remove biofilm, plaque and early calculus. The Airflow Prophylaxis Master unit has a separate Piezon attachment for established calculus--and it does an impressive job! Check out the steps involved with GBR using the AFPM at www.ems-dental.com/en/guided-biofilm-therapy
