    England can’t mess this up. They have 2 guys in contention for Ballon d’Or and one of them is in contention to be the best player in the world alongside his 2 pace monster teammates. Harry Kane, should’ve gone to Madrid if Mbappé didn’t already made it clear he was moving to Madrid. (Sidebar: I find that hilarious because without Mbappé, Harry Kane would’ve buried spurs by moving to Madrid and winning everything in his first year). Harry Kane is the crowned jewel of the attack for years now and in his prime with the strongest support he can ever have internationally, he has to win this tournament and break his trophy curse. And Jude Bellingham is in best in the world conversations alongside Mbappé and Vini. Now a lot of people who only watch the premier league want Foden to be on the 10 spot, nope. Others even say Palmer, double nope. Palmer is in talks to being the best young player in the prem, foden as the best in the prem, bellingham is both younger and better than them, so the two pasty dons don’t have a say in this conversation (Foden is uber elite though). And Saka is Saka, the smile that can light up a room, even if he’s out of form you play that man. He’s elite! So you have Bellingham, Kane, Foden, Saka, and Rice who’s great. If they mess this up and get slapped up again? Or lose again. It’s gonna sting the English fans for sure. Also Southgate has to be brave and play TAA in RB and just let him invert when he wants like in Liverpool. Walker can play CB because England lacks CBs now due to the god of England, Harry Maguire having a very inconvenient injury. MF can’t even stay fit. Also mans look like the God of flicks, KennyS

    im seriously concerned over foden at left wing I think it's a complete waste of him, id drop Saka but Soutgate doesnt have the minerals to do that. Gordan - Kane - Foden is the best attack. You have the prems best player in one of his best positions, you have pace on the left hand side and someone who can actually beat players and cross along with aireal threat of Bellingham. Its perfect but he won't do it as Saka is one of his favs. MF is fine with Gallagher - Bellihngham -Rice that's a top MF, with defence no clue how good Guehi is so that possible worry, this is Southgate's own fault for leaving Tomori and Smalling at home. If Shaw is actually fit from G2 its a decent backline if hes not theres a massive hole on the left.

    In the midfield, Gallagher has to start alongside Declan Rice and that for numerous reasons. First, I must say that it's not my habit to call a starting place for a player with this profile who hasn't proved anything with national team yet. Now, let's get to why it it the best option : to begin with his profile is very complementary with Rice and Bellingham. The three together would form that kind of very balanced and compact midfilelds that goes well with Southgate style and that often win international competitions. His profile of cm box to box, physical who makes useful runs and isa machine press could enable Bellingham to be more free minded and surprise opponents from time to time. Then you've got to highlight Gallagher's leadership, he's the type of player England desperately needs: the one who can stand his ground when others fail around him, as he proved during the entire season at Chelsa. Then , there is one of the best reason, wich is not statistical and wich is that you cannot win a competition with only star players, you always need the right soldier to complete the team and Gallagher, at this right moment in time, is exactly this player.

    • @Football434
      @Football434 Před 6 dny

      Gallagher on paper fits the bill. Industrial, hard working, good running, good water carrier. Seems like the ready-made replacement for Henderson. As you said, it's very important to have players like this in your team. Too bad he's looked mostly terrible every time he's played for England in that role.

    • @julian-eu3xh
      @julian-eu3xh Před 6 dny

      @@Football434 Yes, I must say I haven't seen him play a full game from him under the England jersey. Still, I wouldn't judge him too early based on friendlies and I would certainly start him in group stage but if it doesn't work, there's still room to change and plenty of talents to take his place.

  • @julian-eu3xh
    @julian-eu3xh Před 7 dny

    Foden is bad on the wing with England. Cole Palmer would be better there if Southgate want Bellingham as his most offensive player in midfield. But again having that fear of playing Bellingham as a cm alongside a 10 is rather cowardly for a big nation especially since you know that Bellingham is more than capable to do his defensive work ( still did it even playing as attacking support for Real this season ).

    • @Football434
      @Football434 Před 6 dny

      Could easily make the argument playing La Liga player of the season and UCL winner Bellingham as close to goal as possible, and not shackling him back next to Rice, is actually the brave move - not the other way around

    • @julian-eu3xh
      @julian-eu3xh Před 6 dny

      @@Football434 You could effectively but it doesn't change the fact that he would consequently take the place of a potential supllementary purely offensive threat like Foden or Palmer. What everybody can agree upon is that his mentality, his profile and most especially clutchiness will prove very crucial for England's title dreams.

  • @fedreccinnodante4799

    Again, another excellent video big man! I read a stat somewhere revealing that the goals we've conceded came from the left side. Now that flank looks even worse with the unfit Luke Shaw being our only natural Left-Back! Gomez, Trippier aren't compelling options, some people are suggesting playing Alexander-Arnold there, which is definitely ludicrous. Should we have taken Mitchell?

    Well said! I think there is an anti-intellectualism that runs through British football at all levels that means talking eloquently about the game is almost frowned on. At the same time, influencers are the bane of all content and the current football pundits seem more like influencers than students of the game, these people are not interested in analysing football and only seem to give it a thought while on screen. Maybe most people who are passionate and knowledgeable tend to work for clubs who will value their insight. PS - I saw Andeos Townsend do a really good segment on MOTD2 a while back but I haven’t seen him since. I think younger ex-pros will get better as they will have playing an era where tactics and analysis are a much bigger part of the game so should be better equipped to share that experience with the layman.

    Despite his poor season, Rashford could have been such a trump card and weapon for England as a wide left attacker, especially with Kane dropping deep and leaving spaces for a strong runner like Rashford to attack (something the likes of Foden, Saka, Palmer, Bellingham etc. don't really offer).

    • @Football434

      Such a lose-lose situation as a national team coach. Rashford is clearly quality and has experience, but you'd get slaughtered if you took him over the likes of Gordon or Eze after the seasons they've had. I would have taken Rashford. I’d play trippier at left back. Centreback is a disaster. And equally bad is Walker at Right back. He is not international quality anymore. Bellingham has to sit deep alongside Declan rice. Only saving grace for England is their unlimited attacking options. I’d play Foden as the 10, and either Gordon or Bowen will provide the outlet on the left wing, with Saka as the right winger. Whatever it is, Gareth Southgate has made a mare out of this selection and if England fail to win the euro, he definitely has to go or else England face squandering another golden generation yet again .

And we haven’t also factored in the tactically inept Southgate. As good as the generational talents currently playing for England, there are way better teams at the euros with better quality youngsters. That’s a fact. @@Jkkopi the only position he actually improves players is in central midfield. All forwards are strangled

    Good analysis but I think your last point about other teams' shortcomings is the main hope for England. Having a starting 11 with 3 players out of position in Foden, Trippier and possibly TAA is a recipe for disaster. Wharton has looked the best alongside Rice and I'd at least try him there in the first group game. I've watched his games for Palace and he is very assured in that position and is a better passer than Mainoo or Gallagher and a better defender than than TAA

    If we had a decent manager, it would work...... end of. Because we have a tactically poor, pragmatic manager, he has absolutely no idea how to correctly utilise forward players. What makes this worse is that we have no Jack Grealish in the squad this time, he might not have had a great season but he has the quality to make things happen from the left hand side.

      Personally wouldn't describe a manager who's dropped half the experienced senior players for a bunch of exciting teenagers as pragmatic!

    finally someone calling out Keane essentially playing a character of a grumpy Irishman, Rio acting like a roadman despite being a millionaire since he was 20 and Richards being a clown.

    Reminder my lad, England v Sénégal at Qatar Foden played in the left assisted Saka in the other side and Kane as well with that Bellinghams run . You forgot that

      He played well in that game, im not saying he's never played well out on the left. But he's not the same goal threat, something this new-look England forward line actually lacks at international level. Thanks for watching!

    i see parallels to france's NT. ENG needs something Deschamps work to bring this big egos under control. surely the team has the potential to be on the absolute top for years. but i doubt southgate can achieve this. anyway, i'm excited if he proves me wrong
