You cite nothing to substantiate this claim and lean into it being a possible fact which is irresponsible. Backing away from it in your next paragraph is nice but man is that phrased poorly. Using player complaints, who are not doctors, is nothing but uninformed opinion. Medical studies conducted by Mayo Clinc and Johns Hopkins refute this claim and research done by The American Sports Medicine Institute over 10 years ago demonstrate clearly that the demands for velocity in youth baseball coupled with the lack of an offseason for elite travelling teams is the biggest contributer to the UCL epidemic. Your own video shows a medical expert stating that velo is the risk. Max velo on every pitch, including the slider and changeup is a much bigger contributor to the lack of recovery time for the ligament. There is nothing, anywhere, in any medical study to show that there is a minimum recovery time between throwing motions needed to prevent injury. Blaming the pitch clock is something pitchers who want more time/do not like it are throwing at the wall to see if it sticks when there is clear evidence that youth programs like Perfect Pitch asking 8-16 year olds to throw at max effort every pitch 12 months a year is the much more serious problem. If pitchers want to stop the arm epidemic then pitchers need to start throwing at 85%, 90% of the time and save the last 15% for when they need the extra MPH.

There isn’t a need for automated balls and strikes. There’s a need for using GOOD UMPIRES that do exist and are log-jammed by the union protecting brutally bad umpires. This hubris and complicity is going to result in their own downfall. I’m completely against taking the human element out of the game. I’m ok with having the system review strike 3 calls the way all scoring plays and all plays within the 2 minute warning are automatically reviewed in the NFL.

Look up the roster of any mlb team and you'll see that a full half of the roster is pitchers. Pretty messed up that you need fifteen pitchers because they can't throw a ball without hurting themselves.
