Not everyone wants to sound like a Ricer hot rodding his way to McDonalds car park for a show and tell. Your OEM mod isn't going to give you the power gain or weight saving peopel who buy these exhausts are looking for. You sound like the kind of guy that straps Hong Kong Fooey tires on his car instead of Michelins....

I definitely agree with you. I saw just about every color available on the new 991 in this parking lot and the lime gold and mahogany are both stunning. Can't go wrong with the classic silver and black as well.

I just looked for a vid after checking the colour at the online config - it looks quite different here. Mahagony is my new fave. You never see this colour because nobody can afford it ;)

Baerchenization You'd think so, but that's not really the case. First and foremost, people are scared when it comes to resale. A black or gray 911 will always sell - and always be boring. Besides, the way things are now, it's not as easy to haggle the MSRP down as it used to be. However, what you can do instead, is to get as many options as possible at a discount. I won't disclose what I paid extra for the paint, but it was nowhere near list price. If you go to the factory and order a custom colour, outside of the normal colour options, then it gets really expensive fast, but that's a whole different story. The Mahogany is gorgeous colour too. Incredibly deep in real life. What is really amazing about the Lime Gold, is the way it accentuates the lines. It reacts so well between sun and shadow. Pictures does not do it justice.

ABOlsen69666 That's what I thought, it brings the lines out nicely. I want the colours for the 964 back - I had seen a few at the IAA back in the day and loved them all.

Baerchenization There was a few of the 964 colours that were pretty good indeed. However, what they were thinking when they came up with the mint green and graphite green, I don't know, I don't like those at all. I whish they would bring back Speed Yellow rathar than the Racing Yellow they currently push. One of my fathers old friends have a 964 cab in Burgondy, I believe the code is L999. It looks amazing. It was also the first year of the Amethyst. I would have loved my car in that colour, but it's not part of the stock options on anything but the Panamera currently, so when my dealer and I checked the price with Leipzig, we were both about to faint. Porsche charges idiotic prices for custom colours, even though they aren't really "custom". Porsche is and always will be Porsche in that regard.

actually you are thinking of an expulsion fuse and that wasn't what it was in this case. The arc grew big enough it contacted another line which caused a phast-to-phase short, which cause the explosion, and caused the reclosers to trip.
