If you want the best pollock lure fishing a white and red head redgill small 3/4 foot infront of a 1-3oz lead will outfish anything else. Pollock prefer subtley rather than big thumping paddletails. Tap the bottom once wind up steady retrieve over the kelp minimises losses but a whole pack is the price of one sg lure so might lose a couple more but still the cheapest option. My go to lure

Met Henry in Ireland , Cant / wont say where but he was up to his chest on a low tide. He caught some beauties , double figures, we were fishing waist deep and got a few nice but smaller bass. All released , had a chat with Henry a few times / a great guy. He lives for fishing. Loves Ireland too. Maith an fear Henry ( good man Henry )

I use a Daiwa black widow 9ft 2.75lb test curve rod carbon fibre and sabor macro 10000 xi mini big pit reel for Bass. The whole set up cost only £72 does the job and great fun to use. You don't need expensive gear to fish for bass.

Gotta say Henry, just bought an SG6 to tide me over after selling my Apia Lynx which I felt seriously let down by and I going to keep the SG6. Absolutely outstanding blank, you’ve done a superb job on that rod fair play to you.

I'm looking into this Bass fishing stuff as I've got a holiday in Beer, Devon/Dorset kinda thing in June 2024........I've just ordered a Norfolk tide times book for a practice session as I'm 80 miles away, and somewhat closer...............That'll be April 2024.... I catch many Pike and Perch on my local river as I lure fish 95% of the time, but this appears a few steps up.....Looking forward to blanks perhaps (and a good walk along beautiful Norfolk beaches) ?

I think Hanry is the top man for bass fishing but not Savage gear. In my opinion this brand is not successful for bass fishing

I had the SGS5 and 8, but I preferred the SGS5, fished very similar, nice tip and could cast a mile, but had two breaks on my SGS8, both snapped during casting, the rod is too brittle and I did hear a few batches had this issue :(

Sgs2 rod 9/6ft what reel do you recommend?

Enjoyed that.....I lure fish for Perch and Pike on my local river with decent results but nowt big..... I'm getting some bass lures in for use on a holiday in June at Seaford/Beer in Dorset and West Runton in Norfolk for a few days in late July but will, due to the river closed season, get a day in late April to try north Norfolk as I'm on leave for a week...2 hour drive etc. I was thinking of somewhere like Cley or Weybourne to try as, if I remember from beachcasting days a couple of decades ago, they are very shingly and sloping......I've been searching the interweb for info and, obviously, found your videos (which I watch anyway for Perch and Pike stuff) and yeah, looking forward to a long walk wherever I go.....I've also been watching the Henry Gilbey and Saltwater Angler channels for info. I've got some SG Minnows and Gravity Sticks to try along with some various make Sandeel lures to try both weedless and J hook rigs.....I'm a big fan of weedless on my river fishing trips....certainly helps.
