Philosopher's Stone - Puzzle Story Experience
The alchemist has suddenly disappeared, leaving behind his lab journal and experimentations. Can you follow in his footsteps to create the legendary philosopher's stone and discover what's happened to him?
I built this "story puzzle" experience with my friend Cam. It's kind of like an escape room, but instead of escaping from a locked room, you're escaping from reality into the story of this alchemist who made a discovery right before he went missing. Your objective is to follow in his footsteps and figure out how to create the Philosopher's Stone, while uncovering the rest of story along the way. Of course, we still keep track of the time for those who are competitive!
We designed and built all these custom props using a lot of 3D printing and arduino programming. All the props are real - the book page really lights up when you place the correct objects on it, and the jar of aether illuminates from within and unlocks itself! The experience also contains a few more props and a longer story which we couldn't fit into this video.
Props built & programmed by Ryan O'Neill and Camrin Arreseigor. Video written & produced by Ryan O'Neill and Camrin Arreseigor.
Narration by Dave Bridges.
Music: "Forgotten World of Magic" by Jeremiah Pena, "The Untold" and "Knight Tales" by Secession Studios.
And thanks to all our friends who helped play-test and refine the experience along the way!

3D Printed Clockwork lighting test
zhlédnutí 3,4KPřed 3 lety
I'm building a 3D printed version of Clockwork, and this is a test of the lighting system. I'm currently re-designing the whole structure so that the wheel is static but the track segments can roll around the outer ring. It will be slightly larger as well. So this is really just a proof-of-concept for the lights. No, it's not intended to be a functional roller coaster, sorry! Just a static mode...
Krakatoa - K'Nex Roller Coaster
zhlédnutí 808KPřed 6 lety
This is my 16th K'nex roller coaster, featuring a cable launch, volcano theming, and an industrial ride control panel. The launch, block sections, and station are fully automated with Arduino and servo motors. Music: "Fiery Stars" and "Designed Dreamer", both by Jeremiah Pena. He's one of my favorite film/game composers! Check out more of his music at jeremiahpena.com or soundcloud.com/jeremiah...
K'Nex volcano coaster - update 8
zhlédnutí 84KPřed 6 lety
For those of you who have followed this coaster's construction, thanks for sticking around! I know it's disappointing when people cancel a good coaster concept, so I'm really glad I was able to finish this one. I've finished the automation! The coaster has a fully functional control panel, which can be operated in either manual or automatic mode. In manual mode, the panel prompts you to take th...
K'Nex volcano coaster - update 7

The control system is not complete, although it's nearly finished! As you can see, the train keeps rolling down the launch instead of engaging with the catch car. That's the last piece of automation I need to sort out, then this coaster will be fully functional! I also plan to expand the functionality of the control board and add a manual operation mode, in addition to full auto. In this setup ...
K'Nex volcano coaster - update 6
zhlédnutí 15KPřed 6 lety
The circuit is complete! I added a jo-jo roll connecting the station to the beginning of the launch. Now all that's left is to add automation and theming! I'm also looking for a good name, so please comment with some ideas!
K'Nex volcano coaster - update 5
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 6 lety
More photos & explanation: www.sscoasters.net/forum/topic/15716-volcano-coaster/ The layout is nearly complete! This update shows off my newly cleaned and painted trains, along with a brake run. The brakes are identical to Clockwork's except that the retracting mechanism is contained under the track to make it more compact. I'll use a servo motor to control the brakes.
K'Nex volcano coaster - update 4

I've extended the layout and it's almost done! Now I just need to head back toward the station at the beginning of the launch.

So, I've expanded the volcano structure and added to the layout. After the non-inverting tophat and heartline roll, it dives down to ground-level. Then an immelmann sends it back up the mountain, where it weaves through a crevice and dives down to the right around the base of the volcano.

zhlédnutí 10KPřed 6 lety
More photos & discussion: www.sscoasters.net/forum/topic/15716-volcano-coaster/ I've continued the layout. I'm trying to make it more interesting than Volcano at Kings Dominion by using a wider variety of elements and using the terrain of the volcano more. It looks like I still need to beef up the mountain's structure to keep it from jiggling..
K'Nex volcano coaster - update 1
zhlédnutí 15KPřed 6 lety
More photos & discussion: www.sscoasters.net/forum/topic/15716-volcano-coaster/ I wanted to create a simpler, more reliable cable launch. It seems to work quite well - although I still plan to automate it with an Arduino. At the end I included a render of my NoLimits layout (which isn't set in stone). The structure is bulky because it's going to form the structure of a mountain (which I plan to...
Cal Poly hyperlapse
zhlédnutí 2,9KPřed 8 lety
A compilation of "hyperlapses" that I captured during my video editing job. I built and programmed a Lego NXT robot, which subtly moved my Sony a6000 camera as it captured a timelapse. It took approximately 2 months to capture all of the footage in this video. Music: "The Time To Run (Finale)" by Dexter Britain
Multi-launch fail
zhlédnutí 14KPřed 8 lety
This was supposed to be a multi-launch system, like on Premier's new rides such as Full Throttle and Tempesto. The gears allow me to switch direction of the chain without stopping the drill motor. However, the drill just isn't fast enough, so I'm going to need to use some other means of propulsion...most likely surgical tubing! Muhahaha

Hey guys! For those of you subscribed to my channel (thanks! :D), you may remember this flat ride from my first 2 attempts a few years ago. This one will be displayed during a club fair at my college, so it's limited to a 2x2 foot area and must be less than 3 feet tall. It was quite a challenge to fit all the mechanics on such a small scale, so I housed the motors & gears in the base and used k...

This was amazing!
What program do you use and can you make a tutorial on how to make the control pannel
Amazing
How much did this cost
It is very satisfying at this scale. I would imagine that in real life, the g-forces would be extreme.
If they made this into a real ride. Damm
what version of nxt to is that
Where can I find all the track bits i wanna jump on the knex coaster hype train tbh
id be tempted to fluro paint it or luminous paint it would look sick af
Tf? Now pov??
This is simply amazing
This knex coaster is still among the best ever made!! The layout, speed and heartlining are pretty much perfect
Is this possible to buy
This needs to be made into a actual ride
flywheel mid
about that no time to die part
and also in symmetry ; you slow
jingle otters wasn't his last name but this for my bouy how much to engrave in calligraphy since it should be in the middle of the shopping center

incredible creation, very realistic and the automation makes it even more realistic. just wondering where you can get that elastic string for the launch
If mack rides made volcano the blast coaster
Cool bro
Idk how long it has been since I first found this video But I still won't forget about it
So um. This is obviously the best one right?

you got my message about my wristwatch ; just making sure the bezel gets even more flooded PS!i the tire from the Traxxas is kinda rigged but that repurpose should fit the hubble spotlight at noutella dolt
I couldn’t actually find that much info about this specific song by Jeremiah Pena. Even though I found this song on SoundCloud, it was not released to SoundCloud by Jeremiah, and it didn’t sound exactly like how it was in the video.(That or this guys had edited it to perfection) But still and absolute BANGER.🤟 Ryan O’Neill has done an absolutely amazing job with this Knex coaster, I remember watching it over 7 years ago and loving everything about it. The way how the car drops you at a 90 degree angle, the very unique lift hill, and the short but sweet layout makes it feel like the perfect package of a K’nex coaster.🫶♥️
Thank you!! I do wish the layout had been a bit longer and more interesting, but I'm still quite happy with how it turned out
I'm not sure what happened to Jeremiah's released albums, but he had one called "Tubed Pipelines" that featured the version of this song that I used in the video
Krakatoa: The Launch Coaster
can i buy this somewhere?
I need this
This is so cool
I've been on this except as aftershock.
Its pretty small im not gonna lie
And he is gone
You need one of those small insta360 cameras for a POV video
Hola, cómo funciona el mecanismo de impulso del segundo 26? 00:26
I like the music
I am a big fan
5 years later the algorithm brought me back... This should be in a museum.
Wow!
Excellent work, I had the original rollercoaster when I was a kid. Me and my brother were both super excited on the way to the toy shop, one of my best memories.
I must say this is by far one of the best Knex coaster creations ive seen before. I grew up with them and could build forever. Then life hit lol. Still kept them stored in bins and hope one day i have another opportunity to build 👍👍 amazing work!
