Also known as San-Ti, creating Sophons the size of a planet is incredible achievement that required immense amounts of energy, but their inability to control their system makes it difficult to decide the level of their technological advancement.

    The real reason also was that they wanted to keep humans "silent" so that they could take over us and take our resources before "another" civilization beat them to it. Imagine a group of native indians came to Europe earlier and wanted to "co-exist" the Europeans would see an entire continent full of minerals and arable lands for the taking with the native population being lesser developed than them. They could come over, dominate and extract precious resources before other colonial powers could beat them to it. Look at how the french fought the english for colonies all over the world for example. Why do you think countries were sponsoring people like Magellan and Columbus? They wanted to discover the undiscovered lands and claim them in the name of their colonial empire first. The Trisolarans were in this colonial race as well because they only find out through Sophons and human collaborators that humans have only heard back from them only so they would stunt our scientific growth by killing our best scientists with Sophons interfering with their brains or indoctrinating them to be pro Tri Solaran so that advanced sciences would halt or be more controlled by their followers. This is was just interstellar colonization 101.

    You are leaving out the real objective of the Staircase project that thankfully was covered in the show as well. It's an effort for all countries to show that they have the capacity to come together for a common goal and that their true purpose for sending the human brain into space was to distract the sophons while they build a particle accelerator on the moon to cause long term disruption to the Sophons. It would also allow them to rally the UN's best countries to establish a moon base proper from where they would start to build a massive fleet of warships that would in a few hundred years confront the Trisolarans in the book. Operation Staircase is just a proof of concept to show what united governments of mankind can acheive and keeps them focused.

    The Kardashev Scale, which aims to measure the technological advancement of a civilization based on its ability to harness and utilize energy, is indeed flawed and misleading. Its premise, which solely relies on the production and usage of energy, fails to capture the complexity and multidimensional nature of technological progress. Firstly, the Kardashev Scale oversimplifies the notion of advancement by reducing it to a one-dimensional metric, energy consumption. However, technological progress encompasses a broad spectrum of factors, including scientific knowledge, technological innovations, societal organization, and cultural development, among others. Reducing this multifaceted concept to a single variable is an oversimplification that obscures the intricate dynamics of societal evolution. Secondly, the scale assumes a linear progression in energy consumption, which may not necessarily align with the reality of technological development. Advancements in energy efficiency, renewable sources, and alternative forms of energy could potentially decouple technological progress from ever-increasing energy consumption, rendering the scale obsolete or misleading. Furthermore, the Kardashev Scale fails to account for the qualitative aspects of technological progress, such as the ethical and sustainable use of resources, the preservation of the environment, and the overall well-being of a civilization. A society that prioritizes these factors may be considered more advanced than one that solely focuses on energy consumption, regardless of its position on the Kardashev Scale. Additionally, the scale does not consider the potential for technological singularities or paradigm shifts that could drastically alter the trajectory of a civilization's development. For instance, the emergence of advanced artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, or quantum computing could render the current understanding of energy consumption irrelevant, rendering the Kardashev Scale obsolete. In light of these shortcomings, it is evident that the Kardashev Scale needs to be redefined or supplemented with a more comprehensive framework that accounts for the multidimensional nature of technological progress. This framework should incorporate factors such as scientific knowledge, societal organization, cultural development, ethical considerations, and the potential for disruptive technological breakthroughs. Only then can we truly gauge the advancement of a civilization in a holistic and meaningful manner.

    There is no explanation. It's just for plot convenience and plot development. As there isn't any technological limits in the 3BP the author must cook up some strife even if there can never be one. The Trisolarans could just easily focus on researching livable and sustainable biospheres and nuke earth to solve all their problems, but instead they choose to play with their food.

    Yeah, I completely understood every thing you said from watching the show. They even tell the humans this, telling them how much faster the Humans advanced than they did based on the instability of their home. They literally say "You will pass us well before the fleet arrives." And the Sophons are not the droplet, they are literally AI machines, How would they actually destroy humanity "physically". It's a stupid question honestly that is trying to avoid the rules of the world as they have been established...This is an issue with how dumb a viewer might be, not the show...

    And what does this have to do with the three body problem?

    • @BlizzPort
      @BlizzPort Před 10 dny

      It's crucial to the dark forest theory which is the core of the 3 body problem. That being said, there are no relativistic missiles in 3 body problem like the one in the video, there are photoids instead. These are practically subatomic relativistic missiles. They are much smaller, but much faster, so kinetic energy remains the same on impact.

    In the book the sophon technology is explained that it is a modified Meson particle device in 2 dimensions which made it impossible to be detected. By human standards. The Meson communicated the information via Quantum Entanglement. All though the purpose of the Sophons is the same it wasn't exaggeratedly OP and illustrated like in the show. The point of the sophons is to scout and sabotage the humans as much as possible to deter any form of retaliation of their invasion. It's as if the producers of the show are not down to earth with the book and want to put their own spin on the story which can potentially be disrespectful to the main source material. If the sophons are as advanced in the show were they could manipulate spacetime in multiple dimensions then the point of the main premise will be contrived. The point of the Trsolarians sending the sophons is to give time since they cannot travel more than the speed of light given their current warp technology but since they can do this "space techy dimensional thingy" would you not think they can warp space to a greater degree and just teleport an entire planet destroying armada and invade Earth? Story over.

    1:51 no it wouldn't. Nothing surpasses the speed of light in any reference frame. This is why length contraction occurs.

    • @BlizzPort
      @BlizzPort Před 12 dny

      Nobody said it surpasses the speed of light. It is observed to surpass the speed of light. Light never surpasses c in any reference frame. Everything else can produce superluminal motion in certain observations due to delay in information caused by finite speed (c). This doesn't mean such object is moving faster than light, but it's observed to move faster than light. Analogous to apparent speed, which differs from actual speed measured at the source (usually via Doppler shift). Length contraction also occurs because light has a finite speed. That's the only reason. It's an observed length. Actual length remains the same ( l =/= l0 ) You seem to believe measured properties and actual properties are the same thing. They are not.

  • @boognewsnetwork7620
    @boognewsnetwork7620 Před 15 dny

    Humanity is a trap. There are a few issues with the concepts presented. One primary issue is that the first communication is with a pacifist. That pacifist threatened that we would be conquered. Considering the nature of the Trisolaraians evolution, it is unlikely that they faced any of the dangers that humans evolved under. The scientist who made contact with the Trisolaraians did so out of exasperation with human cruelty. The beings who are traveling towards Earth have never fought anyone but each other, as have we. I think the vast majority of predators on this planet would be a serious problem for the Trisolaraians, let alone humanity. Humans are vicious, brutal, creative and murderous. Having said that, we are also tribal and factional. My own tribe/faction will align with whomever is willing to do away with authoritarianism, subjugation and rape. My faction doesn't require human DNA for membership. Just adherence to the principles of self-ownership, not initiating violence, though responding to violence in kind, in excess, immediately.

    C-fractional bombardment does not work. At .8c interstellar gas matter and particle density results in a radiation bombardment of about 10 Watt/ cm^2 surface area which causes constant abrasion and irradiation, and a dust impact of roughly 50kg TNT/ cm^2/ second on the missile. The math is rather simple and the density values for gas and particles well known. The missile would be ground down within a couple of light hours and woul be widely visible due to the thermal emissios, it would be whitehot.
