Linear VS Switching Power Supply Units (PSU)
I learn things every day. Today it was that not all power adapters are created equal... and I always knew this, but what I did not know is just how the OUTPUT of a Switching DC Power Supply is NOT like that of a (traditional) Linear Power Supply. Simply put, a Switching Power Supply does not provide standard DC output, without the cicruit be completed (pos to negative closed circuit). Without the reference "0v" connected, the waveform delivered is as shown in thumbnail.
To make Stan's circuit work correctly, you can NOT use a Switching power supply.

    We have some good pro books on SMPS, if you want a copy. It's a big problem with Stan's stuff.. His VIC is modeled similar to a forward and flyback SMPS.. This is why an isolated scope channel or probe is required for probing the isolated VIC side.

    good afternoon dear... I had told you that it is not "real" to measure voltages and/or currents when very high frequencies are used... I recommend that you use analog equipment, so you will have measurements closer to what is real. I hope you can try it and notice the difference... I have tried what you are doing at that time before...

    L1 is specified as 2.6VDC Continuous DC (or the residual surface polarization charge). L2 is the application of the pulse that raises it higher. L3 the gate, then loosely coupled magnetic isolation, then onto the negative side with the inline resistor and SS Sandwich. Each raised it up a couple volts.. The sandwich, removing the threshold completely (per Stan)

      "Step charge" is a function of the transformer action. Short answer - yes. My next videos finally have an oscilloscope so you can see this.

    3:45 you are saying 9 amp... In your comment you are talking about 1amp. What is exactly the amp you need to produce you hho. That's the goal. If I remember correctly Stanley was using 0.5A for his fuel cell. Thanks for sharing!

      The standard 1/2 HP motor draws ~9A at 120vac. Now, the actual VIC circuit draws MUCH less, about ~1A. That's my 12v input to my PWM. The amperage traveing through the cells is typicaly less than 500mA. So to "produce" the HHO, less than 1A is used, however the entire machine uses ~10A, because of the 1/2 HP motor. I go deeper in later videos.

    Boom! 😶‍🌫 I've experienced exactly the same. In fact, try your Diode tester first, to build up that polarization threshold, then switch over to Resistance. You'll see ohms go from near-zero, to near infinity ;)

    If you allow me, I have some suggestions: - If possible, try to use double-distilled water or rainwater, which is as "pure" as possible, 0 or 1 PPM no more! (You will notice a tremendous difference, since tap water has MANY minerals, causing it to have some conductivity) - It is not "real" to use a digital multimeter to read the voltage in the "rector" since it is working at very high frequencies, the measured value is not "real"... I recommend using an analog Voltmeter, those from Agura ... (we are measuring current and volts with analog devices, they are somewhat more reliable for measurements) - Try to do a test to measure the amount of HHO gas that is being produced (mL/minute) since the reactor is small. This way you "optimize" always looking for maximum production and lower current consumption. I hope you achieve your goals as well as us, it is not easy but it is very very rewarding when we manage to make some "bubbles with pure water" and explosions hehehe Peace friend.
