As much as I love or have enjoyed playing Sonic Games in the past I Have to disagree with this Roster really The only sonic characters a Sega smash bros game needs is Sonic Eggman Tails Knuckles Amy Shadow Silver Blaze Metal sonic Maybe you could add in Rouge & Omega but no more than that of the Sonic Cast Sega should keep it like how Nintendo treats the Mario Yoshi & Donkey Kong franchises they are all connected to the Mario universe each character has their own stages & theme music. You honestly don't really need the babylon rouges or the chaotix the Babylon Rouges are too obscure while the chaotix would be a nightmare to play as unless the group works like the pokemon Trainer in the smash series. More Sega Characters deserve to make a debt and return rather than Werehog Cream the Rabbit Chaos Infinite Ect such as the Bonaza Bros House of the living dead Puyo Puyo & more Sega franchises deserve equal love as Sonic gets Cream the Rabbit would likely be a assist Trophy Character yet I can See Characters like Chu Chu Rocket angry birds & Wild Woody working as Joke characters just like Nintendo did with Wii Fit Trainer & the Plant Enemy from Mario.

10 years later and I still think Pretty concept for a crossover fighting game however I can't say it's perfect concept. For one there are way too many Sonic characters on his roster, I know that Sonic is SEGA's flagship franchise, but 16 Sonic characters is a little much I say just reduce down to 6 characters. Another complaint with his roster is that that some characters aren't really relevant know I don't mind obscure characters to be on this roster, but Kid Chameleon and Chuck I think would be better suited as an assist than playable character on the roster. And finally, there are also characters that don't really represent their series well like Kurt and Toma, Kurt comes from Valkyria Chronicles 3 which was the only game in the series to not be localized in the west and Toma comes from Shining Force EXA on PS2 which is one of the more modern Shining games but it's not a game that people remember very well. It's likely these characters were added to the roster because the video came out around the time when Project X Zone came out and the fact that Kurt and Toma are also in that game, but they shouldn't have been replaced with Welkin & Alicia (Valkyria Chronicles) and Max (Shining Force). In term of move set Ristar could grab his foes from a long range and sling them straight to the ground and he could dash forward toward his foes. Arle (Puyo Puyo) - While the Puyo Puyo series is mostly a puzzle series I think Arle would be a great pick since she actually appears in games that were RPGs before the Puyo Puyo games so her move set could be incorporate her RPG moverset. 1) I think Bonanza Bros & ChuChu's would work better as Assist trophies than fighters. 2) Would it be unpopular if I said I don't want Hatsune Miku & Kazuma Kiryu in a hypothetical Sega fighter for reasons(Miku isn't technically Sega, the Kiryu policy).
@@Restructuringstatus The ChuChus would defiantly work better as Assist but I could see the Bonanza Bros working similar to Ice Climbers or Duck Hunt. Regarding Kiryu I still want him in a SEGA crossover game because I think having a SEGA crossover game without any representation for Yakuza seems a bit wrong considering that Yakuza is currently one of SEGA’s biggest franchises they own right now but like you said Nagoshi is against Kiryu in fighting games because he doesn’t want Kiryu to hit women.
@@maxtubb8560I wouldn't keep the whole franchise out of a Sega fighter, if anything keeping Yakuza out entirely would be harmful to one of Sega's most successful franchises out there. I believe another Yakuza representative is due to represent the series like Goro Majima or Ichiban Kasuga.
@@Restructuringstatus I kind of want Kiryu as the one to represent since he is basically the mascot of the series but I guess Ichiban wouldn’t be a bad pick since he is pretty popular right now but I have a feeling that Yakuza fans might be confused why Kiryu is missing from the roster.

Agree, I really want to see a SEGA make their own crossover fighter like SSB and this video shows it has amazing potential but to be something great. My only real complaint is the roster is kind of a mixed bag because their really amazing picks don't get me wrong but some questionable exclusions and just dumb picks for the roster. It's crazy that Kiryu Kazuma from the Yakuza series is on the roster especially when consider that this video was made in 2012 which was back when the Yakuza series wasn't doing so well in the west but now it's a big series for SEGA, so Kiryu defiantly fits on this roster. Also just seeing Kiryu kick a Sonic character in the face is to me oddly funny to me.

If sega kept this game alive, I'd bet they would add ichiban from yakuza like a dragon in here as dlc. (I know this is years ago, but another thing that could be cool is a bandai namco smash type game, I know it's not originally from bandai, but they could add anime since they made a bunch of animes.)
This sparked my interest to make a TRUE sequel to the Sega All Stars Racing Games. (I did take some inspiration from Team Sonic Racing tho) So I used EVERY Sega Character that appeared in the Racing Games, which includes Football Manager and AGES. And I’ve added a few newcomers. Harrier, Billy and Jimmy Lee, Toejam and Earl, Luke Custer, Shou Amabane, Lead Phoenix, and Wonder Boy/Shion. And 2 Free DLC Characters Alis and Pepper NO 3RD PARTY CHARACTERS LIKE RALPH AND DANICA
I hope one day SEGA will make a third All Stars Racing (Not counting Team Sonic Racing) and maybe new characters like Kiryu and Majima from the Yakuza series or maybe ToeJam and Earl could be playable racers I mean possibilities are endless but what we got instead was Team Sonic Racing which was such a disappointing game since they removed the SEGA characters and replaced them with Sonic's annoying friends and that's ashamed because I am a huge fan of SEGA's franchises (except Sonic) but who knows maybe one day SEGA will make a true sequel to All Stars Racing or even make a SEGA Smash Bros.
