This is the "Coconut Tree Climbing demonstration" segment from my hi-8 recording and experience of Chief Sielu Avea, the first "Samoan Comedian" in the summer of 1995 at the Polynesian Cultural Center located in Laie, Oahu, Hawaii.

In case anyone was curious Chief Sielu is alive and well in 2024! He's no longer at the center seen here but has his own 50,000 sqft facility where he hosts a similar experience called Chief's Luau.

1995 MASTERPIECE
This is one of the greatest pieces of comedy I have ever seen and I've seen a lot! His charisma is incredible and the subtle expressions and everything is so perfect.

We found him at Chief’s Luau in Oahu this past Summer. Always wondered what happened to him after he left PCC. He went on and started his own Luau company called Chief’s Luau. He’s still pretty funny as a host. Go check him out when in Oahu.
