Excellent sailing video. Well done. Paul Canada
Many thanks! Paul, cheers Paul
For anyone thinking of a small yacht.... the things I had to consider, was solo launching and recovery back on the trailer, solo mast raising and lowering..... my maximum towing capacity and what length I could find parking for at my home. For me this equated to a Ultimate 18.... remember all boats are a compromise! If you live much more than an hours drive to the water, then you should consider owning a moored boat can become a ball and chain, requiring you to check on it at least every two weeks, and keep up with the running maintenance !
All very true, not to mention having to antifoul every year. That's why trailer sailers are the way to go and cheaper. Thanks for watching again and leaving a comment much appreciated , cheers Paul
Great video - some boats stretching the definition of a dinghy though!
Yes I know. More people are coming along and more with lids, but comfort and fun are the main objectives. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
Thanks from New Jersey, USA. Love all the different boat models and rigs and personalities. Wonderfully positive channel. "Good for the soul."
Thank you very much! for those kind words and for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, cheers Paul
Paul , video was not up to your usual standard. Paul Canada
Oh sorry Paul....any detailed feedback welcome, always open to suggestions, cheers Paul

Some recent research has hinted that goanna bites may also include some venom…..
Hi well that is interesting. I definitely wouldn't want to be bitten by one. I remember being at Shelley beach and a guy was asleep lying on the ground a goanna came up to him and started licking his face....he woke up with a a nasty shock....probably has nightmares now. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
What a beautiful boat, I am all sorts of jealous. Only at the beginning of my sailing career, but love watching your adventures, they're great inspiration for the future! Many thanks from (sometimes) sunny London 🇬🇧, cheers, Dan

Like the video what kind of keel does the Pamila B have ?
Hi, no keel, flat bottomed but with a lot of ballast.Designer Matt Laydon
wonderful videos. Watch to relax and inspire. Thanks
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, cheers Paul
I have now watched all of your videos and become a new subscriber. Love the content, format and the way you present the joy. I am an avid canoe, kayak and row boater from my youth. I never bothered to jump to motorboats because I truly enjoy to quiet, slow pace of self-power. I have always wanted to learn to sail but all my ill fated attempts only served to enhance my swimming abilities. Thanks for all you share. Can’t wait till the next video.
Thanks for those kind words. I too enjoyed kayaking for many years and the tranquilty it brings check out myplacestopaddle on YT. But as I got older I realised you can actually go further with sails. Thanks for subscribing and giving me some encouragement to keep making the videos, cheers Paul
Your laughter is infectious! Even realizing that there's a lot of time edited out, it still appears that your group takes things in stride. Thank you for taking us along. I recently purchased a Peep Hen - 14' of potential. Hopefully I can fall in with a group of blind optimists as well, in the Chesapeake Bay, USA. Fair winds!
Hi Ames please send me a photo of your boat. I have seen many videos of sailing Chesapeake Bay so I'm sure you will find a group of enthusiastic sailors and thanks for leaving a comment, cheers Paul
Thank you. From Canada
My pleasure and thank you for watching, cheers Paul
None of your friends even come close to your peaceful articulation of the experience you are enjoying
Thanks for those kind words and watching, cheers Paul
It's over already?? I was just reaching total relaxation. Great boats and always a great video Paul! Thanks for sharing and as always, Cheers mate!!
My pleasure James and thanks again for watching and leaving a comment, cheers Paul
I’m interested in, if / how you solve the heeling over, taking on water problem. Maybe increasing ballast, maybe increasing the weight of your center board, maybe releasing the jib or main sheet to dump the gusting wind, maybe moving to the boat’s high side, maybe some combination? Heh, heh, taking on water is no joke. Thanks for sharing your adventure…from east Tennessee.
Hi Jeff unfortunately I don't have a centre board, so I'm reliant on the 90 kgs of ballast in the skeg keel to keep me upright and easing the main sheet a big quicker, cheers Paul
Nice to see underway19:36
Thanks Robert, yes we had a good time. When you get the chance check out some of my other videos....heading towards 100, cheers Paul
'great video. I love all the boat are different / looks like a real fun crowd. Camera man gets an 'A' edit. dept = A +
Let the evidence speak…must be bloody good sausage…
Yes Marshal's sons sausages were apparently great. The Kookaburra lives there and has often tried to steal food from the picnic table. Local knowledge always important. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
It looked cold. The appeal of sailing in Sydney is to avoid the cold!
Wonderful story about your father.
Thanks mate, cheers Paul
Just love your boat!
Thanks, hopefully they will be available as a kit in the states, soon, cheers Paul
Thanks for taking us along Paul. I love that you can pull together 20 boats for an event like that! Great fun to watch as I'm planning for another wilderness adventure with my daughter the end of the week.
Hi Tim yesore seem to be joining the group. But I also love going off alone on solo adventures. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment , cheers Paul
Another cracker! Thanks Paul. I have found a design for a wayfarer with a cabin. Am I up to the job? We will see
Great video as always - love the Aussie banter! 😂
Glad you enjoyed Mark thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Another great SLK cruise! Not to be pushy-geeky, but at 15:22, it's pronounced "fa", according to my Vietnamese relatives, despite the mis-anglicized spelling. Not that it would interfere at all with your fine sailing skills... Cheers, and thank you!
Thanks for the info! mike, it tasted good , cheers Paul
Great video. Happy blokes getting out and haveing fun. Nice!!
That's what it's all about, thanks for watching and leaving a comment, cheers Paul
In these parts having a shark go under your bow is considered very good luck. Having a shark come over your stern, not so much .
Well there you go, I didn't know that, cheers Paul
Hey! I recognize those clouds! You must be in Oklahoma!!!
Ha ha, thanks for watching Matt, cheers Paul
Fantastic! Good turn-out and fun croud. I liked the flower pot heater idea, but now have to figure out why its so flammable. Unless it gets too hot.
The paraffin vapours given off by the tea light can spontaneously ignite at 200c in an enclosed space...beware. It's a shame as mine looks good, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise Ok, makes sense. Thanks for the safety update.
Where was the fire scene Paul?Just because you got naked and danced around in the rain is no reason not to show it 😂
I forgot to say good video mate!
I had it in and Ric was very funny wearing his life jacket but then I thought you are not meant to have fires on Pulbah so I took it out. Last time people commented with " I hope you are not having a fire on Pulbah".....

hi Paul, currently i am still a tinny boater, however am keen on dinghy sailing . how does one find out when you go on a raid, as i'd love to join you, albeit with a 2 stroke tinny, so that i can pick everyones brains to help me make the transition. cheers, frank from sydney

Encore une sortie très passionnante et pleine de rebondissements.
Merci encore Rémy et merci d'avoir pris le temps de laisser un commentaire, bravo Paul
I live boating in tge rain interestingly enough I find it quite relaxing. Now granted at 81 my sailing days are over but I do have a very comfortable 21 ft power cuddy cabin and after 20 years of ownership I finally have it just about the I want it That said you and I both know we're never content with the way things are always looking to change or improve something even if it's only in our own minds eye. Cheers Paul thanks as always for another greatcraid always makes my daycwhen I wake up and see one of your posts.
Thanks Dave glad to make your day, cheers Paul
Another great one Paul. For those who are not familiar with Teo, the Portuguese builder that Paul mentioned, here is his maiden voyage in his Ozgoose. czcams.com/video/oh9ekSvhskM/video.html gary in Japan

Congratulations to John on the magnificent Oz Goose he built. It looks amazing. I like the tasteful way he "dirtied up" the name decal! I have a Michael Storer boat (Oz Racer) and always enjoy seeing them featured.
thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Nice, thanks.. I remember Glen’s boat, was fast and I would just follow the boat with the red sails.. cheers.
You and me both! cheers Paul
If it's not the Tasmanian dinghy mob teasing us Mexicans, it's you lot up there. I'm at a thousand feet in Central Victoria. On the winter solstice we had an overnight low of minus something and a frost you could ski on. It's 8 degrees outside, at the moment, 95% humidity and showers. Watching you guys really makes me think that I took a wrong turn somewhere in life. Especially the closing shot of you sailing in clear blue skies. Thanks for the content, again.
Thanks for watching Dave, that does sound a bit chilly, cheers Paul
Great vid Paul.
Thanks mate, cheers Paul
Another great video, Paul!! Some pretty good laughs in this one, too. “Last One II” is such a great boat name. I love it.
Glad you enjoyed it Mark and thanks for watching, cheers Paul
These old boys are having more fun than people on their super multimillion dollar super yachts
You are absolutely right....you don't need money to have a good time, thanks for watching, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise Thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple of those boys were pretty funny, gave me a good laugh. The guy that built his boat from scrap? That thing looked fast. If he was a bit lighter I think it might get up on the plane like a racing dinghy.
Thoroughly enjoy your videos and channel. The sound, videography and editing are excellent. You are either a very gifted amateur or have worked in the industry professionally. You have rekindled my desire to return to 'messing about in boats'. Thank you again and if you run into that tall Canadian Mark in his Farrier Tri on another raid say hello from me😊
Thanks for the compliments Ian, yes I worked as an editor all my life and I'll say hello to Mark for you next time I see him. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, cheers Paul
