Hi Kathy, I'm about to embark on a major project on my layout, namely building a TMD for my Deltics. I was wondering how I could get that Tarmac and concrete look. This seems like a great idea. I'll give it go. Thanks for the video.

You really need to change how you think about things to properly make use of 3d printing and 3d design. Your entire life you hear that custom made plastic things are not something that you can make at home (or even make at all, unless you have injection molding machinery and the machinery to create custom tooling for them) But the second you get a 3d printer and some 3d design software you suddenly CAN make custom plastic objects with very little effort. It takes a long time to "unlearn" the whole "no, you can't make that" and to teach yourself "yes, I CAN make that at home, in only a few hours". That was and still is the hardest part of 3D printing, at least for me. The "3d printing mindset".

I not long got into 3d printing (elegoo Mars 3) I been having problems with mine but think it's because of the "island" as you said. As for resin, I use a washable resin personally. My issue I'm finding is placing them damn supports especially especially when I'm printing in N Scale lol

As a lara fan since the 90's, this is absolutely fantastic. Id of given up at the 3D stage as im just getting into that for my layout and its so confusing for me. Amazing job Kathy

I hadn't watched this marvellous inspirational video for about three years, but when I watched it again this afternoon and was reminded of just how many times Kathy had to keep tipping off the excess landscaping materials, brushing away the flocks, powders, lengths of static grass off the lovely beck she'd just made I couldn't help wondering... If she made a similar diorama again would she finish ALL the landscaping work BEFORE pouring the resin water into the beck towards the end of the process, perhaps simply finishing off the whole thing with the reeds at the edges of the beck and the mossy stones? Is there a good reason that she poured the resin into the beck at such an early stage? I don't know the answer, (and it's not meant to be a leading question), I just wonder why she chose to do things in the order she did.

Weymouth Harbour was really cool. There are some videos on youtube of it in operation, if you can find the right search terms. They used to have to bump (manhandle, not smash into with the train) cars out of the way that visitors had parked overlapping the tracks.

TT:120 really appeals to me, and may well get me back into railway modelling, as it's the same scale as European TT. I have a cunnign scheme forming for a small layout based on a Brigadoon-like island that appears in the North Sea every now and then as part of the ancient Dogger Land. When it appears, sometimes it's connected to Germany, sometimes it's connected to East Anglia, so there are bits of German stuff, and bits of English stuff that the locals "acquire" when Dogger Isle next disappears from the mainlands. So I can use British TT and European TT together. I quite like the idea of a British post box next to a German 'phone box: it'll annoy purists, but they've never been to Dogger Isle, have they?🤣🤣🤣

I haven’t seen any dioramas to do with the 422nd siege troopers, if your planning to do another diorama, possibly a 422nd one (but don’t worry if you don’t, I’m sure you got some brilliant ideas already planned out! Guys I only watched the clone wars series a few years back because I thought it would ruin the episodes 1-6, so I put it off. Whenever someone asks me what my biggest regret is that is what I tell them. I’ve fallen in love with Star Wars 1000% more and all the clones, syndicates, pirates, sith, Jedi, and the clankers. I got so emotional during this scene I literally cried, I’m an 18 yr old guy, I don’t do much of it, but that and I don’t wanna spoil anything so imma say ahsokas lil situation, that also made me cry too, so sad 😫

Those guys commenting on Vader’s lightsaber being blue must feel really clever until they watch the series 🤣
