NC Miata Lime Rock 1:01.2
3 laps going a little faster each time at Lime Rock. I think the stars aligned and things just went right for a 1:01.2 on the last lap on Pirelli scrubs (DHH compound). Morning session had fairly cool temps but sun on the track surface, I was running on fumes, and I was getting more comfortable with the handling each lap.

Best lap was 2:00.7 Still was figuring this car/track out after fighting some mechanical issues, but overall I was pleased with how everything felt. I see I left some time on the table, but not buttloads I don't think. I keep forgetting this is a street-focused car so I shouldn't expect laptime miracles. Used TrackAddict in a pinch because I forgot the AIM. Best lap of the day was 1:52.9 but didn't have the GoPro on for that one; this is a 1:53.4. Looking at data it appears G's were generally higher everywhere on my fastest lap so I can only assume the tires were at the right temp earlier/cooler in the day. Camera placement wasn't the best as its the first time I've pulled out the first gen GoPro in a long time. This is also the first time I've tried to mesh AimSolo data with Dashware so...a lot of firsts here. Lap 6 was fastest of 1:48.01. This session's fastest lap was 1:56.73, fastest theoretical was 1:55.4 between the different split markers. It looks like the second lap was going better (carrying more speed through turns 1 - 4) but then ran into traffic, bummer.

Pocono Raceway South-East Course with Hooked on Driving. A weekend at Virginia International Raceway with the 2012 Mustang GT. Top speed reached at the end of the uphill straight was 145mph but I chickened out over the top of the hill out of instinct...she would have went faster. Lap time was around 2:29 or so. If I could insert pictures into comments here, I would insert the pic of the Oliphant driver in Return of the King as he steps on a knight of Rohan. That was my in-car expression.
I have the Cobra slash cut pipes on mine and they were still plenty loud even with the baffles in. I took the baffles out and wrapped them with muffler insulation to take out the bark and harsh wrap sound. now it's more mellow and tolerable.
Got the same ones on my 2005 VTX 1800R, they sound amazing

I really dont like the way the rear mudguard extends so far off of the back of the bike but in this colour which i really like, i can overlook my dislike. I also love the sound.
The Cobras always sound poppy to me, not throaty. It’s all personal preference though.

I have the same motorcycle and had the same pipes put on at the HONDA dealer first they said it had a flat spot when you gave it gas with the jets Cobra said to use, so they changed them again and now its so lean it bangs so loud its sounds like it going to blow the heads off, did you change your jets if so to what? Thanks Greg

I own same bike color too so dang nice cobra street longs on it and custum end caps chrome all around front back top bottomfront fork rear fork all chrome alloy rims used alloy cleaner polished them rims to a nasty bad ass chrome shine I was amazed I would love to send pics to you somehow and ultimate seat as well single person back seat backrest took off putchrome luggage rack not a regular one this is real nice and chromed out taillight bike been lowered 2 inches white wall

I did not take the baffles out of the Cobras. They are however they came out of the box. I originally drilled holes in stock baffles after researching other people's comments about it making them sound better. But, it really wasn't very different and getting the Cobras was the only way to go.

Is fuel injection? If not, for your straight pipes what have you done to compencate. Like let more air to go true and rejeting the carb. Otherwise you don'r gain power, you may even loose some. If there are no restriction you need to modify the rest.
This goes back to ancient memory, but I believe after I installed pipes I brought it to a bike shop for carb rejetting.

That's a vtx 1300 S. The 1300 R uses mag wheels wjereas the 1300 S uses spokes.

No more bike videos from me...not for a long time, anyway. This bike had since gone down on a highway, I face planted and broke some stuff, I rebuilt the bike (it was all asthetic damage) and have since sold it. I now have a daughter so....riding bikes might be out of the future for awhile. Race car driving on the other hand, is much safer :)
+Kevin Petronis But PS - yeah this Honda VTX never ever gave me any troubles pre or post accident. It sounded fantastic with those pipes (as I'm sure many bikes would) and in my opinion looked fantastic too.
Kevin Petronis yap. I have a VTX 1300s and it is a problem free bike. There is nothing to say about this one.
Sorry to hear it. What happened?
Bumper to bumper traffic going 80 mph on a 100 degree day down a hill. I checked my blindspot for a second to move over for merging traffic. When I looked forward again the car in front was hitting brakes hard (which is common on stupid overcrowded Connecticut highway)...I hit my brakes hard but the bike locked up went into a slide...at least I think it did. I don't remember because that was the 1 day in my life I didn't wear a helmet (because it was so damn hot out). So...some broken bones/ribs and cracked skull - but here I stand mostly perfectly fine. Luckily I didn't hit anyone and no one hit me. So in retrospect: (1) Always wear a helmet, no matter the conditions (2) Even if *everyone* in both lanes is going 80MPH in bumper to bumper traffic - go slower than everyone else and allow more space in front even if it pisses people off - they have seatbelts and 4 tires whereas you do not (3) Don't waste your time with cheaper, not-so-sticky tires; spend the money on performance tires that are stickier.

Here's my 2012 Roadstar 1700 with Cobra Slash Cut Slip-ons, Baron Big Air Kit and baron's AIS removal. czcams.com/video/2G2tooHb05Q/video.html. Thinking of getting the Cobra Speedster Longs like yours!!! My slip-ons have a little bit of blatty sound, but overall still sound good and loud.
