I am a musician/educator in Midcoast Maine. I've been at it since I was twelve or so and I continue to derive much joy from this, as well as from my wife, my cats, and my gardens.
I have become especially adept at working with older adults. My experience as director of the Midcoast Ukes helps me recognize and deal effectively with concerns seniors might have with starting a new instrument and playing in a group as well as acquiring, developing, and refining new skills.
I am available to teach workshops in your area, coach your ukulele group at your practice space, and conduct team building activities for corporations and offices.
I have decades of experience working with young students - both individually and in full classes. In addition to the skills needed to play an instrument, I do my best to instill a love of music and the joy of performing.

@@sarahspector5294 It is super nice. Not terribly expensive if you can find one. I have many instruments, but the Pono is my gigging and teaching uke. It gets far more play than all my others. I had a L.R. Baggs Five-O pickup installed and had to replace a broken tuning peg once, but it is a heck of a uke!

@@sarahspector5294 I got mine several years ago from Hawaii Music Supply/The Ukulele Store. They have a good relationship with Pono. Maybe contact them, Mim's, Uke Republic, etc. and see if they can be on the lookout for you for a used one.

I’m really a guitarist but learning the ukulele… so I can teach my grandson. He loves the guitar, but he is too little. I didn’t realize all the different ukuleles I think I bought concert ukuleles I love the baritone and I didn’t realize it’s tuned like the guitar!!! Learning all the chords and picking is fun. I think I got this Travis picking. I’m going to practice it. Thank you 🎵🎸

Ukulele is perfect for little fingers. Maybe guitar when he is older. The Baby Taylor is a good one for him when ready, but uke is very kid friendly all the way around.

Sounded more like an ending than a turnaround - after a turnaround, one would expect to start again!
Both turnarounds and endings are based on the same notes except the last one that it either creates tension with or resolves.

Hi. The link that says "TAB here:" takes you to my Patreon page. There are handouts from Nov. 8th, 2023, Oct. 30, 2023, Sept. 19th, 2023, June 7th, 2023, and especially May 5th 2023 that are picking pattern related. The May 5th one is what I recommend you download and print out. Some may be patron only and some free to the public. If you go back further, there are lots of other handouts for picking. Let me know how you fare.

Sir thank you so much. I don’t know how to explain it. I can play hotel California on piano. But after watching your video I just picked my ukulele up and played it first go. It’s nowhere near as good as you but I surprised myself. This might just be my go to song from now on. My wife’s gonna be sick of it! 😂
