Do you have to use the Salpa?
Hi Terry... it really works best... but here is Anne's response to that specific question! if you have Decovil Light on Hand I'd go with that over Kraft-Tex. Kraft-Tex is made of paper and is NOT supple like Salpa.It has a bit of cardboard feel and is also prone to wrinkle. (And the wallet flap bright break down over time with kraft-tex) Do you have Decovil light on hand? While DV Light is not as supple as Salpa, it is at least a stabilizer with some body,, whereas Kraft-tex is actually meant to be used as a fabric even though it is .55mm. Having said all of the above, if you don't have Decovil Light, then just use what you have. But at some point when you are ready, you will reply enjoy working with Salpa. And should give it a try--I think you will like it. Happy Sewing.

Hi Barbie, In the beginning of the video you showed a purse with flaps. Sorry I did not catch the name. Anyways I had a black one with pink lining when I was a little girl. Brought back memories when I seen that. Nice job on making the baskets. They come in handy for so many things and they do make great gifts for the Holidays.

I just finished making this today! It was my first purse and I was so intent on following the directions that it wasn't until I was ready to do the final topstitch that I realised there is no way to close this bag! I should've re-watched your video first! smh. I added a zippered inside pocket though. Now I am debating whether to take out the side seam we used to birth the bag... Then turn it inside out part way and add a magnetic closure. It is too late to add a zippered closure since I am not taking out the seams of joining the exterior to interior panels. But I will put a note on the printed pattern to think about closure before making this bag again. Live and learn. But I do love how the bag turned out... especially for my first purse! :) Edit: I decided to not take anything apart. I found magnetic snaps that are sew on. So I will add one (I walk everywhere, so I don't want any one trying to get their hands in my open purse). TY again for this video. I will make the long strap next time.

Seem you are using so much double sided tape how do you clean your needle should it get gummed up please?
I use sewer's aid to clean and keep them "un" gummy
The covers look super tricky when adding the zipper tape.
They are a bit tricky, just have to take your time!
Thank goodness you did not get hurt when you dropped your scissors.
