Youve given me hope to try one more time to fix my DW80K5050US. On the second repair attempt, i found the same sensor on mine was gummed up like a nasty batch of kombucha. I got a bunch of it out but gave up and reassembled the unit only to have it still show the error. Ill try again and hope for the best, or ill be buying a new one tonight.

Just done my xfs . The unreading fuel gauge was also accompanied by uneven tickover for about a minute and then cutout . This was a long shot I read on a jag forum but it cured both so thanks for the useful vid . Just one thing . I was so keen to check it had worked I turned ignition on without reconnecting anything resulting in a road full of diesel oops . So just hold fire and get it all reassembled before testing it 😂. First i'm going to replace all my bushings as they are forty two years old. By the way what kind of camera are you using in this video?

It would have been great to do the video as you were doing the repair and not after the repair was done. Talking about this hose, this hose and this hose and these screws and tabs is not easy to follow if you haven't done this type of repair before.

I had this issue on my supercharged V8 where it was not reading fuel at all, it was a little more fiddly with the XJ but thanks to your video I was able to fix it so THANK YOU VERY MUCH👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I will be recommending this video with everyone else in my jag group!!!

i can fix that finger follower with some wet and dry sandpaper plus WD40 and the cam lobe to a mirror finish in 20 minutes.

And in 2023 model DW80R9950US This is the still the culprit! And the secret to jot reolacing the pump or atuator motors like wvryone else is! Grwqt video thank you! I suspected it was resitance triggered level switch. Ita just doing its job but what a pain in yhe ass. Theres also a moisture sensor under in the middle that can cause the same error code 7C

Followed this and fixed the fuel gauge on my xf, but I can't tighten the lock ring. Did you use a special tool?

Another option would be to add another nut. Or some threadlock / PTFE tape. Or remove :D

My neighbour works for the RAC. He gave my fuel tank a bang with a lump of wood just under the OS around where the rear seat is & hey presto it’s fixed. 2 year later and still no problems. Try this before stripping the car to bits it might just work !

congratulations for the video. i have opposite problem. only one injector sprays even if I don't lower the air dosing plate. the distributor has never been serviced. I also tried with other injectors but the problem remains. thank you.

Make sure you popped out the knock out drain plug with a screwdriver before you go through all this.

Mate, if you lived nearby i’d buy you a pint. I’ve had the same problem for the last week and the garages are all booked for at least a month. It worked!!! The hardest part was re-locating the locking ring after i’d cleaned the contacts but a metal bar hit by a lump hammer sorted that but only after a tense squeaky-bum moment when I thought i’d re-set the plate incorrectly. Many thanks again you Legend!

Thanks for this great video. It helped me diagnose the problem with my model DW80R5061 Samsung dishwasher and fix it in less than an hour! I used a little baking soda and vinegar with manual agitation to clean out the water level sensor compartment. Hope this helps anyone who doesn't have a commercial cleaning solution.

I have the same issue and cleaned the gunk in the sensor area. I put it back but it still is having same issue. One thing I notice if that the water didn't fill much into the sensor area... It's the water line to the sensor clogged also??
