Surgical pain treatment methods can be difficult, and, without a doubt, surgeons have learned a lot over the years from both the success and failures of others.

I’ve been in chronic severe pain, following a military injury, and I’ve been on many different medications. This medicine is good for helping pain for those that are addicted and nothing else. The side effects are horrible, and the prescribing of this medicine is a disgrace to doctors and the pharmaceutical industry as a whole. As someone with more severe injuries and surgeries then you could count. I will say that not only is this medication, massively ineffective. It has the worst side effects of any medicine I’ve ever been on. Its not fda or dea approved for pain, and The prescribing of this medication is not only extremely dangerous, but the prescribing of this medicine, And the inadequate treatment of patients in severe pain is considered torture under international law. honestly, I can’t even believe that doctors such as yourselves who call themselves professionals, would recommend this treatment to anyone. I guess that’s because the doctors prescribing it don’t know anything about what it feels like to be in so much pain that you don’t sleep for days on end. Severe pain and the introduction of this medicine has completely made me lose Hope, not only in the medical profession, but in humanity itself. Doctors that would do anything to save them selves by prescribing a career protecting medication knowing the indirect suffering they cause. Is inhumane. This medication has its uses, but should be kept far away from those suffering, severe intractable pain. 🙏

If you’re considering getting a spinal cord stimulator implanted, please read this: “Implanted Spinal Cord Stimulators for Pain Relief: Illustrating the FDA’s Dangerously Lax Oversight of High-Risk Implantable Medical Devices” Public Citizen, June 2020 Michael A. Carome, M.D. You have a right to make an informed decision based on ALL the available evidence, not just the manufacturer-funded studies. You should know that your physician may be receiving compensation from those manufacturers. You have a right to ask and to receive an honest answer. A. The procedure is NOT minimally invasive, no matter what they say; B. The devices are junk that burn, shock, and produce very serious infections and rejections from body. From 2004-2019 almost 1,000 people have died from associated effects of spinal cord stimulator surgery; C. Hundreds of people are paraplegic because the leads are placed in the extremely delicate epidural space; and while surgical techniques are improving, the surgeons haven’t figured out exactly why some people are still made paraplegic by the device and the surgery; D. Almost half of participants need re-operation from “lead migration”, shifting leads and dural puncture. Make sure you know the risks.
