Roger Rodier - Am I Supposed To Let It By Again?
zhlédnutí 28KPřed 16 lety
A great song from the tragically almost completely forgotten acid folk/psychedelic album 'Upon Velveatur'.
Dear sir, dear lady This carnival is dead and gone And never anyway alas This party never yet began The chairs and tables, dust of dust Yes very dust- of very rust Of very must, and farewell trust I thought I saw you in the crowd, dear heart You turned away from me And then you dissolved into light The broken lights and faded buntings Call to us all, the inmost light And don't glare wide your eyes in wonder They will flick back inside your mind And on the bone screen of your skull They watch no musical salutes So thoroughly modern now, are we? But the last reel of all time The inmost night Its frames are glared, and slow and out of focus Valentino Vallee Moss- all dead The inmost night And the little bells go tinkle And your eyes begin to twinkle And the joints and sinews crack Its the expansion of your mind Death, death, death, death! (The choke of, the smell of, the colour of) The inmost night The cat's face glares from shiny card The dead cat from my past You tumble- you froth- and fun forever An orchestra from another time Another world all deader The church bells silent- the rain stained glass of God is smashed And you take your choice You sup with the devil You choke on your pride, forever and ever My memory of my inmost light It tumbles froth and fun forever Vulvaic memories imagined of my would-be-life Well that won't be And that won't be And that won't be And that won't be! And for my troubles and my pains And for the losses and the wains I get a picture in my mind The slyly smiley sly kiss Of your sweet heart and face And your legs in some final benediction Your inmost warm heart says "Ta-ra" And I wished to die inside of you And push up into your heart so violently That face to face with matrix creatrix am The inmost light The inmost night!
Love these guys. Just listening to some old John Peel and he was playing some tunes off King of Kings from like 1980
😂👍🏻👍🏽
Great memories from the way back machine.
Drum part reminds me Boney M - Night Flight To Venus

Saw them in Tiffany's in Glasgow many years ago still love Westworld to the day.Backing them up were southern death cult who became the cult but I preferred theatre of hate and spear of destiny. Stay Free
Produced by Mick Jones of the Clash. He also plays guitar on this track.
One of my favorite songs ever
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Read about this song in "The Art Of Darkness: The History of Goth" by John Robb. It is explains the sound of it so much.
Banger.
listened to this song a lot at college, and still remember the powerful feeling. This is art in its purest form.

Эта музыка использовалась в «Записках печени пьющего человека».
Now nobody does
You take your choice, you sup with the devil. Choke on your pride forever and ever.
Time to pull out the Exuma again, every christmas we remember my dad with this music. This version of Dambala is powerful.
This song is equally as chilling in Nina Simone's style as it is in Exuma's.
So much nostaligia being a young punk climbing the ladder or respectability. Love it.... so many memries thanks for that.
to not or....when you as a youngster were so in awe of your peers and bacame one by clothes and hair....a glorious youth.
As someone who didn't grow up playing piano I'd love to hear what pianists think of Nina's ability and artistry
Nina's ambition was to be a concert pianist but she had to leave Julliard and learn to sing pop because she needed to earn money for her family. Read her biography, I Put a Spell on You.
musicão da porra
Dambala was who Chucky in the movie was praying to in order to transfer his soul into the child's body. And he learned it from a black priest in the ghetto that he killed because he went to him for help but the priest was upset that he was using his power for evil and he called him and abomination in the movie
Luv this record man.
Thought I heard everything she ever made. I am so shocked 😳. Listening from Haiti. You can imagine Surprise
I've got a few albums and singles up in the loft.
happy bday Mick Jones ;-)
What a brilliant album
So dang good. I had this LP in 1984. Love it.
Sounds like the battle cry of the Navajo or maybe Apache warrior...
this is so not goth rock wtf are you talking about, this is post punk unique dynamics, to pigeon hole this sound ,,,,,,,, no chance, this is TOH, they have and had their own niche and to this day i cant put it in any genre, there in lies the power of TOH....xxxxxx
Back in the good old days when post punk was so much ethnic, jazz, folk, classical, western and cinematic music infused. It was really something back then, all these innovative bands...
ADORABLE BAND...LISTENING SINCE THEIR BEGINNING
It's As If Kirk Brandon And Yul Brynner Had Somehow Formed A Kind Of " Surreal Cultural Pact " !! Both This Single From The Eighties And The Self Titled Film From The Seventies Are " Indispensable Cult Classics " !!! In My View From Adrian Browne 1965
Thanks 4 Your Support re My Post ! Take Care !! From Adrian Browne 1965
