Do you have an update?
One feature missing from the 10-18; a distance scale on the lens for presetting manual focusing. This was a real time saver when I did real estate photography. By the way, I also used a pole for elevated pics with the 10-22 and never felt the weight was an issue.
Nice video. I do have a Canon 10-18 lens that I regularly use for Real Estate (Im still new at this) it's my hobby. Im actually a Real Estate Agent . I was thinking on purchasing the 10-22 mm because I feel it would give me a little more light. My settings are usually between 100-400 ISO, F8, RAW files. I have a Canon SL3. I wonder if I should buy the 10-22 mm just to pleased my curiosity. thanks!
Seems to me that Velco would be easier than rubber bands...
velcro would make me nervous!
How do you install the pistol grip?
On my canon camera, I have two options: first is the full-time auto focus with Manual focus; second is one time auto focus followed by Manual focus. not sure which camera you’re using.
Hello, it's 2024 now. What difference is it with Airbnb compared to 4 years ago and do they give you a raise for doing photography with them at all?
Excellent trick! Thanks.
For me it's definitely the 10-18 cause I already bought it second hand. It's also compact size which fits well my small hands using the SL3.
This is a great technique. It works great! It's fast and this video is short and sweet! Thanks!
I find their hiring process extremely tedious, and their rates are abysmal. Some realtors in my area really try to low ball you, but not as bad as Airbnb. And do they actually expect you to do the editing too on top of these shoddy rates? Come on, we're professional real estate photographers with exceptional portfolios, we're not re-inventing the wheel here. We all have a discerning eye for this. Evolve is another media rental company with very stringent rules as well, far worse than Airbnb in my opinion. Their pay is low as well, plus they don't cover mileage under 60 one way. Honestly, I'd rather do my other side gig job during the slow months as a medical courier, I earn more and deal with a lot less needling and I get paid weekly, no waiting 4 - 8 weeks.
Thanks for the confirmation. I have one of the PMG L brackets for the Canon R5, and am very happy with it. I now have an EOS R, and will get one of theirs for the new unit.
I was with you until 2.45 when you say to make a layer mask and hide it. "I have a shortcut on my mouse for that" - I don't have a shortcut on my mouse, so you lost me.
i still dont know what he means
same lol
If you have a tripod with an adjustable center column, why would you bother with a spacer?
Thank You ! Very helpful 🙏
halpfull, thankyou.....
Works wonderfully on EOSR. Im looking to upgrade to EOS R5. Does anyone know if this L-bracket works on EOS R5 as well?
I don't have any experience with the R5 but I'm guessing it probably does not as they tend to make these very specific for each camera.
Just bought e+ used canon EF-S 10-22mm, it is a way to go. It is super fast on my R7 on the adapter.
Needed this!
Very good video and content all together, thanks. Just a quick question please. So currently using manfroto geared head 410 and it won't work with this L bracket unless I use some additional adapter for the plate etc. I am thinking of switching to Benro geared head only becouse of that l bracket. Does it fit perfectly and directly on to the benro head?? Thank you
This is seriously so amazing for us Canadian real estate photographers ;)
Horses for courses and each to their own really. The 10-22 f3.5-4.5 USM is the classic with good range and wider aperture. The 10-18 f4.5-5.6 IS STM is small, lightweight, STM for quiet video, and very cheap, but the zoom range and the aperture are compromised. A Tokina 11-16 f2.8 has great aperture, but the zoom range is really compromised.
I know this is a 3yo video but I think there are two other nitpicky potential downsides. One matters to me a little. One not really. I don’t own it yet but probably will. May be a little harder to fit into the camera bag. The brackets that hug the camera don’t change the profile much. When mounting vertical for pan photos, the sensor plane will no longer be directly above the rotation point of the head (not referring to video pan heads).
Very informative review.
Great video just a thought is the co troll ring able to be used as a toggle for af on /off rather than going into the menu ? I’m tempted to get this as a travel lens for a cruise around the Caribbean next March instead of taking the adapted ef 16-35 f2.8 L mk2
Thank you for this. I live in a place where every single home is like this. I've never been happy with the way my photos look. I'm excited to give this a try.
Nice video and I can agree with you 100% on how I feel about the subject. I am curious how many flashes are you using? Are you just using the on-camera flash? Or what's your setup? Thanks and well done video and well explained. Philip Jersey Shore Area
I just use one flash...Godox AD200 which I handhold to light different areas/rooms that I feel need it.
I checked the flash out. Looks pretty nice. Thanks...@@FocalPointPhotographyLLC
Hey! You didn't find any incompability with the Benro head? They seem to have slighty different measures from most Arca Swiss plates. Thanks!
Are both lenses compatible with canon eos R7 camera
I purchased the 17mm TS for the EOS R and use it exclusively for RE. The more you use it the more proficient you become with it. I’ve shot a lot of tight spaces with it and never really missed a wider lens. The only instances I have really needed wider a 10mm on FF would have been required and it would have had crazy amounts of distortion.
Thanks so much for commenting and giving us updates on this. Yes it does appear that they've stopped the program. Thanks again.
Is there anything new about registering for the program?
Yes I believe they redid the application...I filled one out a few months ago but have yet to receive a job in my area.
I want to start doing RE photography with the Canon SL3 and 10 18 lens, is that ok? What's the difference between a crop and a a full frame camera while doing RE photography?
Thanks for the review for the eos r for real estate photography. Do you ever take the flash sync speed to 1/200 and is it reliable? I just noticed my 80d isn’t very reliable above 1/160 and the eos r looks like a good switch. Thanks for making helpful videos.
great video
thanks!
Totally agree, I follow the sane principles as you.
So is not good to buy a used len?
I've had the 10-22 for years and it's still a bang for the buck.
It's a few months since your recording so you've possibly moved on. In this situation you have nothing to lose by being very direct. "Hi, it's Mike, we used to do regular business. Seems I've lost you. What do I need to do to get you back?"
4.5-6.3 is just one stop
What is on the top of the camera at the 4:42 mark. Light meter?
I appreciate your opinion, but aside from a few finished images, there's no example to show what a tilt shift is, what it does, what it's getting me that the standard zoom lens doesn't, etc. It's nice to know it's not crucial for everyone, but I came away from this video knowing no more about how a tilt shift is even relevant to real estate photography than when I started.
I agree: MORE EXAMPLES! I want to see its results compared to a RE wide angle zoom or prime! I, too, am no more sure what to think from before this video to after it. Less you; more photos!
thanks for the video
Heavy though.
I just got one of these and it won't fit flat on my Eos R . can you help me with this ?
Flat on the bottom? That's weird because from day one I never had that problem. Maybe try contacting PMG and let them know...is it possible they sent the wrong one?
@@FocalPointPhotographyLLC I found out by doing some research and reaching out to Adorama that they have discontinued that plate that you are using in the video . I have sent the bracket and back and will get a refund less the 9.49 label printing fee. I can find them on eBay but they are still pricey $115.00 plus a 35.00 shipping from Vietnam. Thank you for responding to my question .
Quick question; can you use the PG L Bracket with the Canon EOS R that has a Ulanzi Claw QR Plate attached or would the QR Plate need to be removed from the camera and the tripod?
I wish I could say for sure but I would hate to give you the wrong info...
@@FocalPointPhotographyLLC Ok, thanks just the same.
If I’m planing on using this with a RP And for real estate do you think it will be okay ?
Yes, the RP is a very good camera...you should be set!
A sky replacement is one thing, but this seems dishonest and will more than likely have the realtor getting complaints from potential buyers. Folks sometimes travel great distances based on honest photography. Outside of the realtor saying the seller is installing new sod shortly after the shoot, I will steer clear of being part of this. I'm a firm believer in integrity over profits.
I definitely hear you on that...when potential buyers complain, I won't hear about it or know they even complained. I have put my foot down before on removing cell phone towers that were clearly visible behind a house but this was a gray area that the agent was going to have to live with. She had both the straw and grass replacement images. It was her butt on the line. Not doing this may have caused me to lose this very good client. I'd love to have the hard line of integrity over profits but when you're trying to raise a family as the main bread winner things get complicated. That being said I do understand your point.
@@FocalPointPhotographyLLC I can understand where you're coming from certainly. Being the sole bread winner raising a family is a tough for anyone. I'm fortunate that my wife has a good career. Above all, I'm a God fearing man and have complete faith He will provide for His children. Be well and God bless.
Believe it or not, many realtors request grass replacements. At the end of the day, it's their decision and not yours. They're paying you to do this
Thanks for the video....i was looking for something genre specific... I think the lens is good for interior/real estate photography.... compared to 15-35 2.8 or 14-35 F4....it's an affordable lens at least keeping our category in mind
Glad you mentioned this. Mine is going bad, but still able to toggle it on after a few trys and sometimes on the first try. I do recommend just turning trigger off as I have had this go off in my pocket and almost burned a hole in my pants. Be careful, this flash puts out a ton of heat!
Yes that thing can really crank out the heat!
