    Hi, Just a question. Why is there no x-ms-file-id on my options? :( how can i find it?

    • @tw-waytek
      @tw-waytek Před 21 dnem

      Hello @KabayanParesan, thanks for reaching out, there's been some updates from Microsoft that now require some changes to the flow. Change the trigger to SharePoint: When a file is created or modified (properties only) then under Create Table and List rows present change the File dynamic content to Identifier. Let me know how you make out.

  • @darrenchewitt
    @darrenchewitt Před 22 dny

    Super helpful! Do you have instructions for re-naming the Excel file email attachment (that arrives daily with a variable name) so that it always gets saved with the exact same file name (no date stamp) and over-writes the previous day’s file?

    • @tw-waytek
      @tw-waytek Před 21 dnem

      Hello @darrenchewitt, great question, this is a very simple flow with only 3 actions. First is the trigger, When a new email arrives V3, next is For Each, and last is Create file. In the create file action under file name, give your file a name then a "." and then the extension type, if the file is always an excel file then the file name would be FileName.xlsx. Give this a try and let me know how you make out.

    • @darrenchewitt
      @darrenchewitt Před 21 dnem

      @@tw-waytek Thank you so much - I got it to work! I was initially using the method you suggested, and the automation would work perfectly, adding the Excel file to the destination folder, but when trying to open the file, Excel was giving an error indicating the file format or file extension was not valid, and to verify that the file extension matches the format of the file. I did some tinkering and somehow the issue was resolved (it may be that I removed some of the spaces I had in my file name, although I still have one space in my file name and it now works). By the way, wouldn't there also need to be a Get Attachment action (New Email Arrives > For Each-Get Attachment > Create File)? That's how I have the steps set up here.

    • @tw-waytek
      @tw-waytek Před 21 dnem

      Great news and great job @darrenchewitt!! So both flows will work, you can still get the Attachment details from the When A New Email Arrives action but at the end of the day if you are getting the result you need, that's what counts. Keep up the good work!!

    Hey! Is there a way to automatically calculate the hours? For example, if a vacation is from 1-5 of July, that's 5 days x 8 hours = 40 hours. Also, a good customization would be if the calendar can be integrated with the official national holidays of the country, so that the hours are calculated accordingly. With the example I gave you above, 4-th of July is actually a national bank holiday, so the hours consumed for a vacation between 1-5 July would be 32. Thanks.

    • @tw-waytek
      @tw-waytek Před 25 dny

      Hello @georgegoranoff, I was able to figure out how to do the first request in SharePoint Lists. To do this you would need to create 3 calculated columns, called Total Hours Off, Weekend Hours, Net Hours Off. Total Hours Off formula: =(([End Date]-[Start Date])*8)+8, Weekend Hours: =(INT((DATEDIF([Start Date],[End Date],"D")+WEEKDAY([Start Date]-1))/7)*2)*8, and Net Hours Off: =[Total Hours Off] - [Weekend Hours]. I might do a video on this but connected with Power BI and include Federal Holidays. Stay tuned.

However, the file I receive in Outlook has a date added to the end i.e. TestData May 30 2024 or TestData June 6 2024 etc. I'm looking to remove the date of the end and just end up with 'TestData' so I can overwrite the file that is currently there to be able to link to Power BI. Hello @CharlotteGodding, what I recommend assuming your flow is based on the one from this video is to remove all the Variable and Compose actions and under the Create File action change the File Name to: TestData.xlsx and leave all else as is. This change will keep the file name the same no matter what the name of the attachment is and will overwrite the existing file each time the attachment is saved. Hi! at 7:03 when you start talking about Team Members Hours... How do you calculate how many hours it is between the two dates selected? Whilst using a number column I am unaware of how to calculate this. In a calculated column you can use [column_name]-[column_name] however, in a number column what formula is used here?

    • @tw-waytek
      @tw-waytek Před 3 měsíci

      Hello @freddiesymonds7640, thanks for your question, for this post I'm not actually performing a calculation on the number of hours between two dates, I'm manually entering the number of hours taken off based on how many days taken times 8 hours per day. So, in this case it would be up to the user to manually enter the number of hours they are taking off. Let me know if I understood your question correctly and if I answered it.

      Hello @oangelavenir, thanks for reaching out, if you click on the drop down on the calendar view, you should see the option for the type of calendar views, there is "Month", "Week", "Work Week", and "Day". It sounds like "Day" is selected and you need to change it to "Month". I hope this answers your question, let me know how you make out.

There is not a Microsoft List app that can be added to the Outlook sidebar like other Microsoft apps, unfortunately. If interested, I could look into either how to receive a daily or weekly email of the current snapshot of open vacations from the tracker or maybe even to integrate the vacation dates into a calendar in Outlook, your thoughts?

    I just did this for my IT team, and it is a godsend. It was so simple and really met a need. The feedback from my team is that they love it, and it is convenient since it is located directly in Teams, which is where we live. The only gripe is that we wish we could have distinct color for the different team members in the calendar view.

      @tw-waytek Před 9 měsíci

      Hello @MatthewParksSr, it's my pleasure, if you go to your Calendar View from Microsoft Lists and select the drop down, there should be an option to Format Current View, select it and click on Manage Rules under Conditional Formatting. Here you can assign different colors to different team members. If "Team Member" is equal to "User Name" Show List item as "Specific Color". Create a separate rule for each team member. Try it out and let me know if it works for you and do not hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions. I like where you're going with the other features such as setting up Reminders using Power Automate. Maybe I'll do another video based on your recommendations, let me know if you have any other ideas related to the Calendar view.
