Watching the scenes about the Lich, Finn, and Jake making their wishes hits very differently now after having watched the Fionna and Cake series. Every time someone makes a wish that results in timeline/universal changes it seems that, presumably, it removes them from their home universe and places them into a new one that's shaped by their wish. So, the original Finn exists in Farmworld, the original Jake exists in an identical universe to the one the three of them left, and the Lich exists in his dead universe. But what about the *original* universe the three of them came from? Based on what we have, we can assume one of two things. The first possibility is that Jake's wish wasn't drastic enough to result in a new universe and, instead, places him along with (a new) Finn (and a new Lich) back into the original universe, truly 100% saving the day. The second possibility is far more depressing. If Jake's wish resulted in the created of a new, albeit identical, universe, then that means that the original universe still exists. But it lacks the three characters. This would mean that, after the Lich, Finn, and Jake go through that portal, they *NEVER* return. Princess Bubblegum, and all of their friends would still be alive, but would forever be wondering what happened to them. Bubblegum would have watched, in horror, as her friends never come back. Not moments later, not a day later, not even 1000 years later. They likely would've never gotten closure or any indication of what happened, because none of them have the means to contact Prismo and find out what's going on. At this point, considering how dark things get in the Fionna and Cake series, I can't confidently say what the writers have intended here. I feel like the first possibility is the more likely one just because it's a lot easier to explain to a massive audience, but the second possibility isn't out of the question at all and lines up with some of the darker themes at play recently.

I dont think golb is a chaos deity, i mean it never seems to...do.. anything. I think people have been trying for eternity to determine what golb is, but golb has just sat there, saying nothing. And so scholars and fools have put words in golbs mouth, easy explinations for something that has no reason, no origin and no end.

A true scholar of golb wouldnt have put this video in chronological order. Im glad you did though

I could feel the pain, envy, and hatred, it was conveyed very well. Compared to the original, well, I haven't seen anybody else's interpretation, only Harlan Ellison's. So, I'd say it's a solid 2nd best.

I like the Lich's ending. In his last moments he realized there was no joy or satisfaction in destruction. In dedicating his life to this goal he destroyed any chance of him leading a life of love and joy. It's almost pitiable, but he did deserve it so the karma is tasty.

There was a scene where they are on the couch at the treehouse and Lich's face flashes on the screen for a frame. I remember seeing it with my brother and thinking it was so crazy. Just like the other slowed down one included.

The fact that he has little screentime is kinda genius. Villains who appear a lot lose their intimidation quickly, but since The Lich appears a lot less often, whenever he appears, shits about to get real

I just realized that Lich doesn’t call Ice King by his title and just refers to him as Ice Wizard. Probably because he also had the title of King but doesn’t see Ice King as an equal so just refers to him as a Wizard.
