Thats also a problem for me. I did not get any gear besides the NXT Gladiators because of that. I believe you can get them running, but that'll be a hassle everytime.

Interesting! I think drag was a topic but might still be far off in development. But I also think that VTOL engines could have a bigger impact or should be needed if you carry a lot of weight in atmo.

@@Luix_OS drag is kind of in the game. if you VTOL up too fast in horizontal, and while in atmo, the ship nose will swing into the direction of travel. that doesn't happen in vertical unless you yaw, so keep to pitch and roll. also keybind VTOL to mouse front or back button or something easily pressable compared to "K". just pitch and roll to change the angle of strafe.

Hey! I'm using Fedora 40 with gnome and Mutter, which is a wayland implementation. I has similar weird problems on NixOS. Some where fixes by switching from borderless to fullscreen. Otherwise I dont know too much about this. You might want to join the Star Citizen Linux User Group, they probably have a better answer for you! :)

Fr im so dissapointed in this game. After many years i decided to buy it, the last 4 Weeks i played this game, no matter what you want to do in this game, there are GAMEBREAKING Bugs EVERYWHERE you go, you are not be able to do progression. Vaughn missions almost impossible because cant down comm arrays, Mining / Salvaging almost no sense because of server crashes or your ship exploding randomly or you get stuck in your seat and bugg out your ship with it, Cargo hauling makes no sense because you risk all your money and to an 80% there will be a camper because only 50% of the commodity traders are working in this game. Its not even worth to make vaughn missions, even when you managed do down a comm array, because they nerfed those... Its so sad because i love the concept of the game, but its almost unplayable

@@TizzaOG Bro, be patient. During Xeno we usually have the worst performance ever. Server meshing is getting closer and it'll bring way better stability and performance. I've been here for about 4 years already!

The voyage consumes around 9l quantum fuel per 1M km The atlas just 7.5l per 1M km. Otherwise they're pretty similar You get better range with the same speed with the atlas. Is there something else about the voyage?

And it works smoother than windows (for me at least)

I was lucky with the server and I get far away from everything. Otherwise my system is mostly AMD based. I'm on linux and it runs pretty stable with atleast 60fps. But server performance is pure luck I guess

I see average 85fps with just a 3950x and RX 7900 XTX running with Vulkan and CIG TSR. Just make sure to disable amd image sharpening. Doesnt boot for me if thats enabled.

Up to a year ago I was getting away with on average with 30fps upwards with an GTX1080 gpu in most places (don't even ask about the cpu, lol)!

Yes, the 4 compartments (or modules) are planned to be exchangeable. Even though it was never really specified what modules exactly. You can find more about this on the caterpillar concept sale page! :)

In 2017 I believe they showed a video of the modules in development. At the time it included the cargo modules (I guess these come by default?), extra crew modules, a medical module, and also showed or discussed a 'meeting room' module. Seven years later and their status on modularity in general is 'almost started'.

Was . Was supposed to be, at this point its doubtfull it ever will be. Its from a time before they changed just about everything and its layout no longer works . Expect a mkII variant to replace it.

Good input! I should've done that and definitely will for future deep dives. I believe before the gameplay loops we needed the "fundamental" game to be ready, which took just extremely long. But as I see it they're still on it and working to improve, as long as that is the case I'm positive for star citizens future

Realistically (sadly) it has to be one of the last mechanics in the game. We need science and exploration so we even have data to steal / transport

I hadnt even considered that. I just assumed random data to steal, the aspect of scanning and seeling data from players will be an interesting game style and may be a bit controversial especially if the data has value

Check protondb for the games. Most games run except competitive shooter because of the anti cheat. Also you'll have to switch applications which can be a hassle, like adobe alternatives. Its a great experience. I've hoped back and forth a lot Getting games to work can be very easy! I always check protondb first, then use Steams Proton and done. Others (like star citizen) need some more work. Most communities have guides though

Same here but then you try to fight and its quite frustrating…. Also they need to dissociate the roll vertically and landing gear pull up…. But love its flat design. Kinda wish we had also the wing folding like on concept. It was an awesome feature. Best thing, the view. Also it lack love from cig…. Not much skins available :(

Hey, it is still in alpha, a playable alpha. Its a game not rushed by a publisher, hence 11 years and more to come. I suggest reading into the game before deciding. Be aware that it'll be years before it releases.
