Well well well, what a find we have here! A brand new Rush recording from the Fly By Night Tour! I personally recieved this on Christmas (one hell of a Christmas present) from a setlist.fm user named "kabblammachunk", who got it from a local radio station (WSAN) clearing out old stuff. So this upload goes out to them for making this possible! This captures Rush's performance at the Roxy Theater...

It's been a while since I uploaded a new bootleg, hasn't it? Well, wait no further. This is another Power Windows show, capturing Rush's performance at the San Diego Sports Arena. The quality is mostly great, and well-balanced, though an inferior bassy source is used for "Mystic Rhythms", "Distant Early Warning", and part of "Witch Hunt". It originally ran a half-semitone too fast, and was more...

Alex was shredding. This is why I love RUSH. It was Alex that made me want to listen to RUSH. Then it was Geddy... Then it was Niel. I'm not diminishing any one of them or disrespecting them. I love RUSH as a single unit. But, this is how I feel about what MY ears want to hear. I'm a guitarist first. Then, a musician.
I was at this show. Me and my little brother sat 12 rows up from the floor on the other side of the Seattle center coliseum so we could be center stage, full view. Somebody was passing a very large joint around that I took only two tokes off of. BLOWN AWAY! By the time they played Camera eye, I was well on my way. Perfect timing, too. It added to the mystical repetition of that song. Being center stage at the back of the house was the perfect spot to get the perfect sound of that Arena. RUSH was as always perfect that night. Still a rabid RUSH fan.
Amazing band and an amazing song.
I went to this concert on the Saturday night,l still have the t-shirt and ticket stubs. Wild horses were the support band.
4:02:05 And so it begins...
Dean Combs only career top 10 in the Cup Series
I was there that night. At around 2.25 you can hear that Alex breaks a string. He quickly switched from the 6 string to the 12 string neck and picked things up again, which was very cool. Then at the break at 3.04 he swapped guitars. It was a very slick piece of work by the road crew. My first and probably best ever gig at Hammersmith Odeon !
This concert was just over a month after I saw them at the Worcester Centrum - Oct 1984
If you look at the end of the video at winners circle. The women in white dress is my grandmother. The young lady all the way to the left in the red dress is my mother at the young age of 16-17. And My grandfather standing in the middle with a blue oak woods homes hat on which he was working for at the time. Awesome to see this.
They only played Japan once. The reason why is in Geddy Lee’s book. Frighting story actually
Dude I was at this show!!! Rush, April Wine and Max Webster opened!!! Rush was AWSOME!!
who was the opening band?
Is that Closer to the Heart?
JUST A FEW months later I saw Rush at the Tarrant country convention center area. I had two dates. CASSIE AND CHRISTIE. MY DAD WAS so impressed. And the concert was great also!
FYi the picture 8f from rush in 1975 from the annual Kite Flite held by St. Louis missouri, USA radio station Kshe 95 ( since 1961. It is the longest running rock radio station in the world)
POINT STANDINGS and WINS before the 1979 LA TIMES 500 (31 of 31): · Darrell Waltrip (4672 points with 7 wins, Chevrolet) · Richard Petty (-2 with 5 wins, Oldsmobile) · Bobby Allison (-214 with 5 wins, Ford) · Cale Yarborough (-238 with 4 wins, Oldsmobile) · Benny Parsons (-604 with 1 win, Oldsmobile) · Joe Millikan (-785, Chevrolet) · Richard Childress (-1052, Chevrolet) · Dale Earnhardt (-1066, Chevrolet) · Buddy Baker (16th with 3 wins, Chevrolet), Dick Brooks (Oldsmobile), Dave Marcis (Chevrolet) and Lennie Pond all had to scale down to a partial schedule. Meanwhile, Neil Bonnett got 3 wins with the Wood Brothers’ Mercury after David Pearson left the team. Pearson got a single win when he replaced an injured Earnhardt for 4 straight races. Drivers listed are the season's current top8, last season's top8 plus whatever race winner that doesn't fit any of those 2 descriptions plus I’m using the original names of the races. In Ontario’s case, the only race in 1979 was the LA Times 500.

This might be the recording that Geddy is talking about in his book.
43:43 total YES influence heard called it
I went & it was amazing
Amazing to see
I was there, it was awesome
Thank you very much for the upload!

1982. One of my favourite Daytona 500 of all time apart from many others.
1985. One of my favourite Daytona 500 of all time apart from many others.
I got tired of hearing idiots near the mic yelling to each other. Go outside if you want somebody's damn phone number !!!
I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't believe they'd the stone balloon i lived Down the block
Unbelievable.
wow, the roxy ....thats crazy
Bodine and Wilson really threw Speed under the bus for the incident on lap 127 yet there is no evidence that he was at fault in any way. The announcers are even curious of this take. Although, to be fair, Bodine seems to be simply restating what someone else told him. As it was, I have no clue what Wilson was talking about.
WOO YEEAH!!! 👍
I was there!
Forever great
Born in Scotland, Canadian raised, Toronto concert girl. First time seeing Rush 1975 (I’m old 😂). I was visiting the rellies for this concert in Glasgow! Pride in my people and my band together make this one of the best nights of my life!
I was so looking forward to this show. I was in HS and this was my first time seeing Rush. Such a dork I forgot to put in my contacts before my ride picked me up so I had to watch it blurry :/ Power Outages were just the icing on the cake as far as making it one of the most memorable concerts I ever saw but not for the right reasons, ughhh.
Rutsey wasn’t a terrible drummer, but damn, Peart just kicked his ass right out of the chute. Listen to them at the high school gig in 1974 and compare. The rhythm section is so much more solid and it allows Alex to really shine. And Geddy-how in hell does that guy even still have a voice? I think he screamed it out in this performance.
S my C
Neil is playing really fast then slows down then speeds up. 😄 The tempo is all over the place. But I like it with Alex's guitar up in the mix.
The best bit about this recording is that it proves that it was the 10th of June recording with the true Glaswegian chorus that made it on to the album. 😄 My first concert.
Great concert and thanks for the upload, a shame the sounds so awful, especially at the start, the tape sounds warped and chewed up. I wonder how they made the same gig (as part of the 40th Anniversary Permanent Waves album) sound so good?
42:40. Just WOW. Geddy and Neil working in perfect sync even in the earliest days is wild!
Thank you for sharing these. It was my second time seeing them. I saw them a few nights before at The Fabulous Forum. I miss them tons. 💔😭
Rusty wallace is one of the greatest actual racecar drivers,,,one of the luckiest to,he was upside down so many times flipping down backstretch or frontstreatch
Awesome. Never to be done again, unfortunately. Bands used to. Do pre-releases somewhat regularly back in the day.
Yep, I was there
Getty was saying in this interview czcams.com/video/IMUaFy-bJSs/video.html this was the first time the audience sang along with them and it blew his mind. Nice one Scotland
Just heard Geddy talking about his new bio book and this song, this concert was the first time they heard the audience singing back all the words. It gave him chills. Big night for the band. Admittedly I'm not hearing it as much, so perhaps it was one of the other nights at this venue more so? Still, cool to know it.
This was on the Farewell To Kings tour (which I didn’t see). Fans might still have been absorbing the new content. The sing-alongs for Rush in Glasgow early got started on the Hemispheres tour. If anyone has a copy of The Trees from the Glasgow Apollo, it was earth shattering. Closer To The Heart was definitely chanted out too. We had been told that the Glasgow gigs from the Permanent Waves tour would be used for a live album, we expected the whole thing to be from Glasgow. Then they changed plans and recorded Moving Pictures and we got downgraded to a couple of songs of the otherwise deathly quiet Exit… Stage Left. Oh well. Nice to hear the impression we made on the band.
4:44 What's the song.
